Charming Oak Hill Getaway Near the New River Gorge

The house was very clean, which is the first thing I always look for. Very quiet neighborhood. Supplies were good except for one small issue that Steven took care of ASAP! Nice location to the New River Gorge NP. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend The Apollo Reed and its hosts.

House was very clean and the beds were super comfortable. I would stay here again it was a perfect place to stay for my weekend in New River gorge had everything I needed!

We enjoyed our stay for a quick holiday. Great location to visit many sections of New River Gorge Park! Beds were comfy and couches great for chilling and watching a movie. Great communication from host!

Our stay was great! The kitchen very functional although sparse in extras like a mixer and utensils! Really it was a quiet neighborhood, small town feel, close to a park with playground structured. A bathtub is a must for me and this one was very comfortable. I had a lovely relaxing afternoon on the back patio. A value for the money!

I’m rating 4 stars because unfortunately during our stay there were some maintenance situations that were completely out of the owners control. Although the stay was not what we had intended, the owner was very communicative, chatting after midnight and up early in the AM. Quickly got a maintenance guy out to the house in the morning, was very quick to help us process a refund etc. also the house itself was the perfect stay. About 30 mins from the ski resort, very easy drive.

Host was accommodating and great with communication. The house was excellent, I mean it. Very clean, bright, VERY cozy. Great kitchen, the beds were crazy comfortable. The location is excellent to be far enough away from the tourist craziness but close enough to be a quick drive. Close to all essentials, we totally enjoyed our stay.

Nice clean place in a relatively convenient location. Kitchen was well equipped and the house was comfortable in general.

The Apollo Reed is a super cute home nestled in downtown Oak Hill. The beds were amazingly comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with a coffee bar. For outdoor adventurers there is a room to store your gear. Stephen is very responsive to contact. There was real toilet paper- Charmin! Not something you typically get in a rental.

Great location for exploring the Fayetteville section of new river gorge. While the place is generally clean, it is a bit run down. Neighborhood was quiet and safe. Our biggest complaint was the mattress in the king room. It should be replaced. We had to move to the smaller room because it was too uncomfortable.

Very clean place to stay

Cute, clean property stocked with everything you would need and a very comfortable bed! Close to Fayetteville for shops and restaurants (Pies and Pints was fantastic for pizza) as well as the north side of the national park. The southern points of the park are a bit of a drive but overall the location was great for visiting the park!

The house was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. I like how it was central to all the areas around New River Gorge. The host was great to work with and gave us everything we needed for a great vacation.

Very comfortable house to stay at! Cozy covered patio where we sat and had our morning coffee every morning during our stay. It was close to New River Gorge for hiking. It was a wonderful experience all around!

The place was cute and clean. Everything was in working order. The host was quick to respond to my questions. Their is a weird transition in the center floor where the living room and kitchen meet the center. It's a trip hazard for sure, but once we got used to it, it was not a big deal. I would not recommend this property for the elderly because of that. The house is cute, but the neighborhood is questionable. But you are 15 minutes away from everything you need (grocery store, restaurants, & the New River Gorge & Gauley. We were in town to white water raft, so the location was good.

We took the trip to celebrate my 40th birthday, just my husband and myself. It was a great little getaway that we have already talked about renting again. It's central to a lot of different hiking areas and a great walking trail. We loved the ability to just hang out in the house, in a super quiet neighborhood, and do our own thing.

The house is very clean and well stocked. It’s close to a lot of different activities and restaurants. It’s a walking distance to the town center. We will definitely stay again. Thank you

This property is right where you want to be. Great central location to the areas finest spots. We really enjoyed our stay in Oak Hill and the surrounding areas. It was so nice to come back to the house after a long day of adventures. It is in a quiet neighborhood and has everything you could need.

Clean property with lots of seating for 4 in a quiet neighborhood. Friend left a computer after checkout and received it in the mail in less than 1 week!

Very nice place

Our family spent spring break visiting New River Gorge National Park and chose this place based on the reviews since many of those people were also visiting the park. The location was perfect- quick drive to Fayetteville, The Bridge and the park/playground for the community. We used Ace Adventures for our excursions and the proximity was super easy for us to get to. The house itself is absolutely perfect- the beds are very comfortable, the main living areas are comfortable and laid out well also. The porch swing was perfection for the morning coffee and for after a long day of hiking it was great to relax with a cold drink. We were able to reach the owners with some questions and they were quick to respond and were helpful. We truly enjoyed our stay here and would 10/10 return!

Quiet neighborhood, convenient location to New River Gorge and Beckley. House exactly as listed, comfortable and clean. Did not cook in the kitchen, so I can't speak for how well stocked it is, but rest of the house was great.

Clean and very comfortable. Nice kitchen (Stephen even had some fresh eggs for us). Nice to have W/D. Close to all visitor centers for New River Gouge. Not far from Greenbrier, Beckley, and Capital. Highly recommend.

We recently stayed at this fantastic house for a weekend, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! From the moment we arrived, the property exceeded our expectations. It was impeccably clean and beautifully decorated, with a cozy yet spacious feel that made us feel right at home. The kitchen was fully equipped, allowing us to prepare family meals with ease. We especially loved the large dining area, which was perfect for our game nights and shared dinners. The living room provided ample space for everyone to relax, and the large windows let in plenty of natural light, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Communication with the host was seamless. They provided clear instructions and were quick to respond to any questions we had, making our check-in process a breeze. Overall, this house was the perfect retreat for our family.
