We arrived at 4:00 to all the doors open in the house and a car in the driveway. We assumed housecleaning must still be there hopefully finishing up. We walked in to a young man passed out on the couch, feces/urine in the toilet, cleaning supplies on the counter, and none of the house cleaned. My husband had to physically shake him to wake him up. He woke up confused and obviously under the influence of something. He was adamant that we weren’t supposed to be there and that the house wasn’t booked. He called his boss on speaker phone who proceeded to tell him excuses he could tell us to get us out of the house. My husband and I both called Vacasa, the woman I spoke with was no help at all; the woman my husband spoke to sent out an “emergency cleaning crew.” The lead housekeeper who first came was very helpful and apologetic. We sat down by the lake until 6:00 while the house was cleaned. The house was not clean and has not had a thorough cleaning in a very long time. The bottoms of our feet were BLACK so my husband mopped the floor which helped but we still walked around with our shoes on. There were pills under the couches, the bathrooms smelled like old, stained urine which permeated through the house. Was the house dated? Yes. Does the carpet need to be replaced? Yes. All things we could have dealt with but this house was just gross. Vacasa said they could have given us another house but had to cancel this before someone would contact us about our “options.”

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful waterfront home! The views were stunning, and there was plenty of space for everyone. It was the perfect spot to spend a week with family and friends—swimming, fishing, barbecuing, and stargazing. While we did experience a few plumbing issues due to the age of the house, the Vacasa team was prompt and efficient in resolving them. We’d happily recommend this place to friends!

This house has a wonderful location, ample shaded outdoor space, beautiful dock with comfy chairs and big umbrellas. Great views from the decks and two BBQs. It's well equipped with tons of cookware, games, books, extra linens! We had a great time.

Even though the location on the lake was very good, the home has not seen any repairs in many years. Rolling out the awning above the dining room windows to shade from the early day sun (after figuring out it was not plugged in to the outlet), we found a very tattered fabric all the width !! Also had to sweep the deck, that looked as if it had not been cleaned in a very long time, and found many roofing nails, looks like the roof is in need of repair. In the dining room, the best view in the home, found that two the window blinds were taped or wired so as not to work! In a cabinet next to the kitchen exhaust fan, found an electrical box uncovered with wires exposed, a safety hazard. Also in the kitchen area there is a missing knob for the on off of the exhaust fan, along with other cabinets missing knob and drawers not operating properly. Even two of the bedrooms were up on the mail level and two were on the lower level only accessed by going outside! The two lower bedrooms were connected to each other along with a bathroom. Getting to the lake is quite the billy goat hike, down two sets of stairs, around the back and down a gravel path the dock, were there is a great dining area, with table and chairs, and a new umbrella, if you can lug all your stuff there!! Overall, for a short three night, four day stay and you are willing to accept all this, it's a great location. Would NOT Recommend for a family with lots of kids, too had to navigate for a long period.

Location is assume, BUT getting down to the lake is very strange and takes a billy goat to navigate. Repairs have not been done in many years, be careful of roofing nails on the outside deck, bedrooms on lower level are accessed from the outside and are very strange. All this being said, for a short stay, if you don't mind these oddities, it's on the lake with great views. Would not recommend for a long term stay.

The house was just fine. Unfortunately, the community of Pine Mountain Lake has overdeveloped and exceeded the capacity of the sewage treatment plant. There was a constant smell of sewage. We were told by several residents of the area that this has been a growing problem for several years and the residents have been unable to solve it.

We came across several reviews mentioning the property's age and outdated features. While the property is certainly not new, it provided all the essentials for a comfortable stay. Upon our arrival, the house was impeccably clean and offered ample space, with numerous windows showcasing stunning views of the lake. The air conditioning functioned effectively, keeping the environment pleasantly cool. Outside, there are two barbecue grills available for use. The outdoor area is spacious, allowing guests to lounge beneath the trees, unwind in a hammock, or relax under umbrellas by the water. This location suited our needs perfectly, and we genuinely hope to return in the future.

We spent 4 nights here in August. The house easily accommodated 7 people with comfortable beds for everyone. Liked the large dining table and big kitchen to accommodate multiple cooks at a time. We found all the utensils and cooking gear to serve complete meals to our guests. The view of the lake was nice. Nice artwork on the walls. Would love to return to Harte's Desire again.

great location , close to Dunn court beach. love love the lake and the dock. house is very dated, old kitchen cabinets, furniture etc. however it is very well stocked. tons of spices books and games. outdoor shower below was great. 2 bedrooms which were comfy. only 1.5 baths though. dont judge house by garage when ur pulling in driveway bc it looks like deliverance

Best part of the property is the location on the lake. However, the first impression driving in was off putting with the broken down car, boats, leaves, cobwebs and debris covering car ports, decks and steps. The worst part of the house side is the kitchen. The counter tops grout, floors, fridge, are all older and not clean. The dishwasher was full of dishes when we arrived, the coffee pot had not been cleaned in a very long time. A pan was left in the oven filled with a large amount of grease from a prior rental. Large cutting board on the counter was very dirty. Not impressed with the older kitchen. The ignition switch on both BBQ did not work. Need to have your own lighter. One of the BBQ burners is out. Broken shades and stutters. The view of the lake is very nice, along with the family room area to all to hang out. If it weren’t for the lake view and dock, I would have rated the house a 2. In general the property needs some love and care.
