Stayed Mar 27, 2026Start with the positive: the beds are super comfy and there are lots of bedrooms if you rent upper and lower units. And the view is absolutely spectacular! This place has so much potential with some pretty easy fixes: kitchen is big and gorgeous but very little cups, plates or bowls. The upper bathroom has no shower liner. The primary bedroom is massive but no dresser and nothing on a giant wall. Toilet paper holders are so far behind you, you need to be a contortionist to use them. Couch upstairs doesn’t lock. Also both couches are filthy/stained. The laminate floors are separating downstairs and creates gaps 1/2 inch wide or more. The stairs are quite literally being held together using masking tape. No hand rail going downstairs. The downstairs unit is a basement so the ceilings are super low. Part of our group had to choose another location because of the head ducking that would undoubtedly end in a goose egg to the forehead. The view and the space in this house make it worthy of a look. If the owner could get a couple new couches, a couple dressers and some basic wall art/mirrors, it could be worth the price. But the age of the decor and poor maintenance make it a silly amount to pay.

Stayed Feb 24, 2026Headline: Overwhelming artificial odors, broken furniture, and privacy concernsCleanliness/Odor: The home had an overwhelming, artificial laundry scent that we could not remove. Even after washing the provided linens four times with unscented detergent and bleach, the smell persisted. It was so severe we had to purchase our own airbed, pillows, and bedding just to sleep comfortably.Property Condition: The couch was separated and would not stay together, and the fireplace was non-functional. While the host sent maintenance to fix them, the repairs were temporary and failed almost immediately.Privacy Violations: Maintenance entered the home without any prior notification or consent, which is a direct violation of VRBO's safety and privacy rules. Despite being promised a notification for the second visit, it never happened.Communication & Billing: Getting the agreed-upon 100 credit for our extended stay was a struggle. It took five days and repeated follow-up emails to receive it after check-out.Note to Future Guests: The host contacted us before we could post this, asking to resolve issues to avoid a sub-4-star review. Given the actual condition of the home, this makes the existing high ratings feel very misleading.
