Stayed Oct 17, 2025This was the perfect place for our weekend getaway! Kitchen was nice and stocked so we were able to make a nice dinner and watch football! Was very clean and the downstairs had the most pleasant smell. We would definitely stay again!!

Stayed Sep 7, 2024Stonewater Lodge is a cute and cozy home conveniently located to downtown Traverse City and Suttons Bay. However, while the home is advertised as a 2-bathroom home with a laundry room, the lower-level bathroom & washing machine are not usable. The sump pump pit overflows & floods the lower level if you use the lower-level bathroom or the washing machine. We contacted the host, Vacasa, as soon as we discovered these issues and were told the issue would be fixed as soon as possible. No one called, texted, or came to the home until the next day. Then nothing until I texted the following afternoon when I was told that the host was working with the homeowner to choose a contractor to fix the problem. Two days go past-no word. The next day the kitchen sick started gurgling and the upstairs toilet water rose to the top of the bowl. I texted Vacasa and was told they had not heard back from the owner; but they apologized for the inconvenience. In addition, the house could have been cleaner. There were stains on the bedspreads. Luckily, we brought our own blankets. And, when I bent down to pick something up off the bedroom floor, I realized that it was absolutely filthy under the bed. Needless to say, we will never stay at this home again nor will we book any other home through Vacasa. I would not recommend staying here unless you only need one bathroom or enjoy plunging toilets and cleaning up floods in other people's homes while on your vacation.

Stayed Mar 26, 2024The house was cute and was a good size for 4 adults. We did not quite understand the house layout from the pictures. We found the main floor had a kitchen, eating area, bedroom, and bathroom. The basement contained a living area, bedroom and bathroom. The loft had the 3 beds. So, the layout is a little different, but we were okay with it. The house was on a nice piece of property and gave us the privacy that we wanted. The location was very convenient. About a 20 minute drive to go to any number of towns. Close to hiking trails, water, and restaurants.

Stayed Jul 25, 2023The house is located in a nice spot. The layout was more impractical than we imagined. The furniture downstairs was hard and uncomfortable. The downstairs bedroom had ants so we were unable to use it, meaning the main gathering space became the bedroom for one family member. A light in the bathroom was broken and clothes from a previous guest left in the dresser. Lighters were strewn around the firepit outside. The king bed in the loft is impractical and uncomfortable because it was so cramped. Mattress was very old. The pillows seemed cheap and were not comfortable at all. My allergies were not good. Very musty. The upstairs tv would suddenly stop working and we could not use it. We contacted vacasa but didn't hear back for a day and then they asked for the best number to call us, which i had already provided. By then, we had fixed the light on our own and given up on the bedroom with ants. I would much rather stay in a place where i can contact an owner directly. The house is pretty but was disappointing overall. We were not offered any compensation for the issues we experienced.

Stayed Jul 6, 2023This was a great location to take in the Leelanau Peninsula. It's just across the street from a sweet little park on the lake where you can swim (don't forget your water shoes), boat, and enjoy the playground. The house is near everything you would want to do in Sleeping Bear Dunes. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the beds were comfortable. I highly recommend Stonewater Lodge!
