Stockbridge, Massachusetts
This 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom home of 1000 square feet with an additional 200 square foot screened in porch with a table for outdoor dining and lounge furniture. It is located in the prized, private, lakefront community of Beachwood in Stockbridge, MA. The house is in a quiet location near the end of a dead end road and is surrounded in back and one side by woods. Fully equipped kitchen, access to private beach, a few miles from numerous cultural hotspots including Tanglewood, Shakespeare and Co., the Norman Rockwell Museum, Berkshire Theater, etc.
We had the great pleasure of staying in Rebecca's home in the Beachwood community this August. The location could not be better. The home is located towards the end of lane that is not a through road and is surrounded by woods. You really can't see your neighbors. Yet it is a 5 - 7 minute walk to the community beach on the Stockbridge Bowl. The neighborhood is great for walking and running and everyone is so friendly. You are also incredibly close to cultural activities. Tanglewood is a mere 2.5 miles away and Shakespeare & Company not much further. You can be home from shows within minutes of their conclusion. Additionally, the charming towns of Stockbridge, Lenox and Great Barrington are within short driving distances. Further afield, you can visit Mt. Greylock and the museums of the northern Bershires on an easy day trip. We particularly enjoyed the Clark Museum where we saw the Edvard Munch special exhibition. Further afield, you can take in the excitement of the Saratoga race course on a slightly longer day trip. The home is well stocked and Rebecca was very responsive to our requests. Needless to say, our month at Rebecca's home flew by and we wholeheartedly recommend staying there.
The house was exactly as described and we appreciated that- it was so nice to have access to Stockbridge bowl within a 5 min walk. I would have appreciated having all the information about the house in a booklet as it typically is- Details about what we can use ( camping chairs in the front closet, etc). I was sent info via an email a day ahead about what to do when leaving, etc but each time I needed to refer to it , I had to keep Looking on my phone., .Usually there is additional info such as the owners favorite restaurants etc. If I wasnโt familiar with the area, that would have been very disappointing. Communications were easy with Rebecca when I contacted her - always a quick response . We also appreciated her letting us check in an hour early and leaving later in our check out day since it was pouring when we would need to leave. I do recommend this home .
Rebecca's home was delightful. The location was sublime, nestled near the end of a dead end dirt road. It was quiet and serene. The home itself had a perfect open floor plan, wood burning fireplace and screened porch. The bed was comfy, the heaters kept it nice and warm, the lighting extra nice with dimmers and the decor charming. I loved sitting on the couch and looking out the picture window at the tall trees and having no one around. Highly recommend!!
This was a beautiful location with a very private screen porch and backyard. Perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring the area.
Second Thanksgiving week in Beachwood. From Great Dane sightings, discovering the beach and grove, and many neighborhood walks, so much fun was had. Truly thankful for a host like Rebecca. Maybe 2023 will bring opportunity for a visit at a different time of year. Just want to note to future guests, pitas at Vivaldiโs in Lee are awesome, pizza from Boema in Lenox is wicked good, you absolutely must have carnitas from Xicohtencatl in Great Barrington, and for meals created in the awesome kitchen do stock up on delish goods from Guidoโs in Pittsfield.
Just returned from this very comfortable rental. My family of five was extremely happy and comfortable in Rebecca's home. The air conditioning made two hot and humid days very comfortable. The screened in porch was a godsend on the buggy days. Easy check in and excellent communication with the owner. Beautiful lake with a great beach, sand bottom and crystal clear water. We were very happy with this rental and would return in the future.
This vacation home and the little lakeside community that surrounds it was really special. We spent hours just sitting on the screen porch, enjoying the quiet and woods. Perfect set up for families, especially with small children. A little beach on Stockbridge Bowl that is SUPER child friendly is a 5 minute (fun) walk through a very safe community. Our goal was relaxation and lots and lots of music at Tanglewood, with occasional visits from family or friends while they were visiting the Berkshires. This place met every one of our wishes. The owner was fabulously nice and responsive to any questions we had. A great visit to a very special little spot.
Beachwood is a great spot to enjoy the Berkshire's and this rental seems to be one of Beachwood's best.
Rebecca has maintained this lovely vacation home in such a way that you feel right at home upon arrival. I appreciated each morning I was able to rise and enjoy the fresh air on a walk around the neighborhood. What a great kitchen with excellent essentials and easy access to the outdoor gas grill. And the best part was being able to vacation with my kitty in a place that welcomed her openly. My sisters and I look forward to returning again in the new year.
We loved our stay at this little cottage in the woods. It's in a perfect location - near to Lenox, Stockbridge, Stockbridge Bowl, museums, and so many amazing hiking & biking trails. Our host was excellent, helpful, and communication was wonderful. We'd be delighted to stay here again!
