The Space:

Come inside and stay awhile! This friendly, historical home is ready to welcome guests in comfort from the moment they walk in through the screened-in porch. All told, there are six bedrooms (each with a private bath), perfect for accommodating book club getaways, extended family reunions, and get-togethers with old friends. Plus, you'll have all the serving and stemware pieces you need for everyone to enjoy their favorite wines, cocktails, and appetizers. The living room features an inviting gas fireplace, 65” TV, surround sound system, and a workspace, just in case someone has some remote work (or schooling) that needs to be completed before exploring the Saugatuck area. Two staircases (one in the front and one from the kitchen) lead upstairs, where each bedroom resides in an inn-style layout. Right off the stairs, the first bedroom features a queen-size bed, an en suite bathroom with a standalone shower, a light-up mirror, and a private entrance to the balcony set on the ivy side of the home. Right next door, the second bedroom features a double bed, en suite bathroom, and private balcony entrance of its own. Down the hall, the third bedroom features an en suite bathroom, large windows, and a queen bed decorated with a chic grey color scheme. A door separates the final three bedrooms from the rest of the upstairs for extra privacy. Bedroom number four is first and boasts two twin beds that can convert to a split-king bed and an en suite bathroom with a standalone shower. Next door, bedroom number five features an en suite bath and shower/tub combo, a queen-size bed, and a bonus sitting/work area. The final bedroom features an en suite bathroom and an impressive split-king that can convert to two twin-size beds.
Six ceiling fans help to keep the entire home cool and comfortable no matter what the season. Guests can gather outside and enjoy some delicious meals from the private gas grill. This home's relaxing yet refined design will enchant you while it houses every member of your group in comfort. What's nearby: Set right in the heart of Saugatuck (and close to the banks of the Kalamazoo River), this home is perfect for people looking to be at the heart of a lakeside town. Wicks Park is right across the street as is the historical Saugatuck Chain Ferry, allowing for even greater freedom to explore than the average city home. A second park equipped with playground equipment is located behind the home and is accessed through your own private gated entrance. Oval Beach (and the lovely waves of Lake Michigan) is just four miles away by car - it's less than a mile if you decide to take the ferry and walk or bike the rest of the way! But guests may have the most fun wandering around downtown Saugatuck taking in the eclectic shops. Don't forget to try the fish tacos at Phil's Bar & Grille! Want more options No problem: there are dozens of restaurants, bars, stores, boutiques, and spas within a short four-block walking distance. Things to know: Free WiFi and cable Full kitchen This property is managed by Vacasa Michigan LLC.

Pros: Exceptional location near ferry and restaurants, good size house with spacious bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms, comfortable mattress and pillowsCons: The floor and carpet were dirty. Socks were brown within 10 min of being there. Amenities especially kitchen ware were antique-worthy. One of the toilets did not work. The window shades did not all work. No washing machine. No soap for dishwasher - bring your own. Stains on bedding. Overall dated. Vacasa: 3 of 4 parties that were supposed to join the vacation had legitimate medical problems - one persons kid got severe allergy with face swelling, one person had nonstop vomiting, one person dislocated and broke their elbow. They would not cancel or partially refund the reservation.

We were a party of 8, 5 adults and 3 children. Everyone was happy in this beautiful place. It was clean. All the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was well organized and equipped. We always bring our own frying pan, because you never know, but the ones there were ok. I brought my own pasta pot, because you never know. Glad I did. The knives were sharp. There was a ton of storage space in the kitchen. We did cook most meals in. This house is right in the middle of a very busy shopping and restaurant area. Inside the house all was quiet and restful. We were amazed. The house has a very welcoming vibe. It has a lot of history and all the modern amenities. The front porch and the swing were a favorite area for the children as well as a great place to leave soccer balls and beach stuff. I would love to stay here again.
