The space
This home was built in 1910 and has the allure of it's time. We have decorated the home with antiques that give it a special charm, while providing all modern conveniences.
As you enter the home you find yourself in a large living area with a 65" TV sitting on an antique Buffet table. Roku channels and Xfinity cable channels are all available.
Connected to the living area is the dining area that features an old fashioned drop-leaf Rolling Serving table.
To the right is the Master bedroom featuring beautiful real wood paneling on the walls and a queen Bed with an impressive headboard.
The bathrooms are also located off of the dining area and feature a restored clawfoot tub built in 1925.
Going on to the kitchen you will find all of the conveniences you need. In addition, the kitchen features a hand built live edge solid oak breakfast bar and an actual Pie Safe from many years ago.
The upstairs bedrooms also feature the real wood paneling on the walls and slanted ceilings for a fun feel. Four twin beds in the first bedroom make a great place for family. The far bedroom features an old style desk, two queen beds and an antique clothing valet.
Laundry is located in the basement for your convenience.

It was a great house for a large group to stay altogether. The only issue was the trains going by all night long blowing their whistles.
We were very happy and comfortable during our stay. Our kids loved the layout of the attic sleeping area. We would definitely stay again in the future.
Bathroom are cramped and the bedrooms beds up stairs we a little hard for my preference. Everyone enjoyed staying here.
House is super cute and set up very nice. Even with the multiple beds in the home, there was still plenty of room to move around and nothing felt crammed! Property owner was very prompt with messages! Home was very clean as well .. If we’re ever in the area again, this will be the home we choose!!
A pleasant night.
excellent
We had three families traveling to the area for a quick weekend of fun (oceans of fun and worlds of fun) this house provided plenty of beds for all of us, a specious living for gathering/talking well into the evening hours and a kitchen to prepare some of meals to help keep our food costs low. House was exactly as listed.
The outside of this home needs serious TLC and the yard was grown and unkept, somewhat of an eye sore. The driveway was sketch. Inside the house, the lay out was odd but it was clean and can accommodate a lot of people. We stayed here because we went to two Royals game and wanted to stay close. It really is in a very rough part of town, not really not as close as you would think to anything. I wouldnt stay here again. If Im the owner, Id really clean up that yard, fix the driveway and make it look more appealing. Maybe finish out one of the bathrooms, fix some of the stuff that is broken. If all you need is a clean bed to sleep, a shower, the kitchen was new as well, in Independence, this would be okay if you dont care what the yard and neighborhood looks like.
The house interior was exceptionally clean including the linens and towels. The neighborhood was very nice except for the house next door which appears to need a lot of repair. It would be nice to have front porch chairs to sit on. The outside landscaping is nice, but the grass needed to be mowed and the bushes could use a trim. Overall I would recommend the rental. Also, the town of Independence was very historical and pleasant. We went to the Ed Sheeran concert at Arrowhead Stadium and it was easy to get to the event from this house.
This was an interesting older home that has been nicely updated. The beds were very comfortable and the other furnishings were nice as well. The location was convenient to the areas we were interested in visiting. The children enjoyed seeing fireflies for the first time.
Overall the stay here was comfortable and clean and met our needs. The beds were very comfortable which is huge. It was also pretty clean which can be hard to accomplish in an old home. The only negative was the bathroom situation. It lists 2 bathrooms, which it has, but they are so incredibly small with no counter space and minimal hooks. The shower is so tiny that no larger sized person would be able to use it. The house does have a great location close to the football and baseball stadiums.
Everything was perfect—We had a great stay!! The house is adorable and was super clean. Great porch for sitting-great first floor for socializing-great upstairs for sleeping. Will definitely stay again if we come back for more hockey!!!
We loved the coziness but largeness of the home. I feel in love with the bathroom hardware and the upstairs as well. Owners were super nice and we really enjoyed our stay.
This was a great place for our stay in KC. About a 20 minute Uber ride to Power and Light district. House was just as described on the internet.
This home is an older home, but it was very clean. We were surprised to find enough beds to sleep 10 people even though we didn't need that many. Also 2 bathrooms even though they are pretty small. Hot water in the bathroom is very hot. Owner was very easy to work with. Check in very easy. We enjoyed our overnight stay.
Property is as advertised
We absolutely loved our stay. Plenty of room for all the kids to have their own space. Location was perfect for us and the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. We'll definitely make this our first choice every time we come to watch our beloved Chiefs!!!
Perfect for our overnight stay!
Very cute home in a quiet neighborhood.
No problems at all house was great.
We had a fantastic stay at our VBRO for the weekend! We were in KC for our family reunion and were delighted to have a clean spacious home to gather at with family.
The property had everything our family required for our stay.
We were looking for a home in a safe neighborhood, close to attractions and family who live in MO. We stumbled upon this home. The price was right and they had plenty of beds. We found the home to be clean, with three rooms four twins and three queen beds, we had plenty of room. It's a cute home with all the amenities we required. It's close to the FWY, shopping and sites. The home is older, the wooden floors squeak and you can hear a train twice a day briefly. It's in an older part of town but we felt safe.
The house definitely gave us the ambiance of our trip, and it is all you would expect from staying in an older house.
Our family loved staying in this older home near historic sites in Independence. The host was very helpful and quick to respond to questions. The home was a comfortable temperature, with central air in most of the house and dedicated mini split units in the attic bedrooms. The home is clean and well maintained and the beds are comfortable.
Great location for our day trips into KC. The accommodations were as described and meet our needs. We enjoyed our stay. If you want to use the covered front porch, you will need to bring your own bag chairs.
Thank you so much. Home was a beautiful historic home
