Stayed Mar 2, 2026Hi! I don’t believe in leaving bad reviews because I don’t want to mess up anyone’s business. I’d rather have you succeed! I do have some feedback that you should hear so future guests don’t leave a bad review. The house is beautiful and cozy and has a lot of potential if ya put a little more love into it (: 1)Lamp broken in spare bedroom. Bulb super dim in the one the that I brought from another room.2)Pullout bed isn’t sufficient. It was extremely uncomfortable. I didn’t sleep the whole first night because of it and I’m not a picky sleeper. Needs to be replaced with something more comfortable. 3)Coffee pods ran out on our 2nd morning. There were only a few pods.4)Conditioner ran out after 1 use 5)I would buy an electric water kettle. It will save you money on electricity and is nice to have as a guest.6)The dining area is a bit odd. Probably needs to be re-envisioned for better functionality. 7) One bedroom hadnt been vacuumed and the floor in that room was sticky. Thank you for your time in reading this

Stayed Sep 19, 2025Quiet, convention location. House is old, has had lots of pets, and smells it. Bedrooms do not have windows that open ...they have window a/c units that you must run to get air into the rooms, otherwise very stuffy. Those units make a lot of noise affecting sleep.

Stayed Aug 29, 2025The house location is perfect. It's a couple of blocks away from Commercial Ave, and if you are here on a Saturday it's a block away from the farmers market. The house itself was not the cleanest, and the whole thing had a smell of bacon and dog. It is clearly a dog friendly house, and we're not dog people. We were somewhat able to air it out, but the smell never totally went away. The backyard is lovely, with a picnic table and propane grill - we grilled our first night there. The kitchen is well outfitted for cooking, with updated appliances. The property has 3 units, one connected to the house, and one separate but on the property. Just be aware you may be sharing this property with other people, and you can see them when you are in the backyard. With that said each unit is blocked by walls or fences, and we never heard any other people while we were there. Due to location alone I would most definitely stay here again - and even bring my bike next time!

Stayed Jun 30, 2025Great location but not suited for stays longer than an extended weekend. We stayed for 9 days. Weather turned cold and discovered the heat vent was in the ceiling so upstairs was warm, downstairs took awhile. Dryer stopped working and we ended up with a load of wet clothes we spread around the backyard to dry. Had to buy more toilet paper ourselves, no stock on hand. Kitchen pans were so badly gouged and scratched I had to buy a frying pan so we could cook. We reached out to property manager but no response.

Stayed Jun 10, 2025Incredible charming home, host and location. The backyard is a wonderful spot for a bbq and the front stoop is a perfect place to sit next to a beautiful apple tree. It’s within walking distance to everything but tucked away enough to relax. The home does have another unit attached but the way it is designed it feels like it stands alone. A large family was staying in the attached unit but we didn’t notice or hear them until they were packing their car to leave. We did not bring our dogs but next visit we may, very dog friendly. We can’t think of one negative- it is a historic home so the stairs to the second story are a climb if you have an older traveler or toddler but that is the only thing we could think of.. and pretty common for most two story homes in Anacortes. Highly recommend.

Stayed May 2, 2025We enjoyed our stay. We had six people, and it would have been a bit crowded if we had been indoors a lot, but the weather was good so we ate at the picnic table in the yard.

Stayed Apr 5, 2025We were happy to find this little house available last minute for a quick weekend away. As others have said, the living room is quite small, it would benefit from less furniture. The staircase is steep but the rooms upstairs are spacious. It is not clear that part of the house is boarded off as a separate rental. Close to many restaurants within walking distance. Cute house with nicely kept yard.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Stayed here as a last minute getaway with my daughter. I loved that the farmers market was right at the end of the alley behind the home. Restaurants and fun shops were just a short walk away. Home was well appointed and comfortable. Having the air conditioners in the bedrooms was fantastic as there was a bit of a late summer heat wave while we were there.

Stayed Aug 8, 2024This is a very nice accommodation in the downtown area of Anacortes and just 2 blocks from the Marina. The bedrooms are spacious with plenty of room to unpack and hang clothes or store them in drawers. The kitchen was adequately stocked and also spacious. There are just 2 small drawbacks, one being that the bedrooms are on the second floor up a very steep set of stairs, and the living room is quite small. For a house that can sleep 5 -6 people it was disappointing that it was not possible to comfortably sit as a group and relax to visit. Also, while sitting at the picnic table in the backyard, I got a splinter from the tabletop. It needs sanding and refinishing.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We’ve stayed here before, so clearly we like the place. The house has a nice maritime feel to it. Good kitchen and a little breakfast nook. Has a backyard that’s fenced. It’s in a location we like because it’s in the old town shopping district and is near great walking paths and the marina. Every morning you’ll wake up to the sound of screaming gulls. Not a bad thing, in my opinion.

Stayed Jul 26, 2024Well this is not a true duplex. They boarded up what Iw ill assume was the dinning room at some point. They split the house in two you are under the same roof as other tenants. We went out for dinner after checking in and came back to the house smelling of weed. I get it's not an illegal drug, but it is a drug non the less and we have a family with children. It was awful where we almost drove home. The home is older so the floors are very uneven just as an FYI. There is really not a space to sit around and play board games. The chair seats were not attached to the frame and my daughter fell because of this. Here is the deal the location is perfect, you won't need a car and can walk to the marina and you are literally downtown. The house itself not really great for families.

Stayed Jul 5, 2024We came over from Friday Harbor and were waiting on a baby to be born so we spent a lot of time at the house. The house was clean. Location was great-quiet and a short walk to the grocery stores and restaurants. It served our needs but I do have a few complaints. The pot/pan/tool selection in the kitchen is dismal. The seats of the chairs are not secured to the chair frames which was highly irritating for my older kiddos. The living room could use a sectional or at least a full sized couch. And the mattress in the south bedroom is shot - our backs ached so badly by the end of the week. Most of this wouldn’t matter if you weren’t spending the majority of your time living and cooking in the house.

Stayed Jul 19, 2024We enjoyed our stay. The location was so convenient for an easy walk around and so close to the event we were attending. The house is so nice and ( one exception) it was clean and comfortable for the whole family. I do intend to stay there again if it’s available next year. The exception that kept me from giving 5 stars was the very strong urine, probably dog urine smell coming from mostly one upstairs bedroom. That said we still really liked our stay at Mariner’s rest.
