Trinidad, California
Beautiful 2 bedroom dome house with loft (which can be a 3rd bedroom). THERE IS A TWO-NIGHT MINIMUM. This home is gorgeous and is nestled among 5 acres of redwoods less than a 5 minute drive from scenic Moonstone Beach, and 15 minutes from charming downtown Trinidad, with Arcata and Humboldt State University only 15 miles away, and Eureka 5 more minutes to the south. While centrally located, you will feel as if you are living deep in the woods, under the redwood canopy, surrounded by a cool fog, visited by deer, birds and other animals. The modern and updated kitchen has a stove, microwave, dishwasher and full-size refrigerator with dishes and utensils. The two bathrooms are both full bathrooms, one with an artisan-made tiled bath/shower and the other with a double shower. Washer/Dryer on property. TV, Cable, WiFi and stereo. Sleeps up to 6 with 4 being ideal. Access to many outdoor sports, activities and National Parks.
***Nightly rate is for 2 guests. Additional guests are charged $25 per person. Infants and children are not allowed. Guests found with children, pets or unauthorized additional guests will be asked to vacate premises.***
I have always wanted to stay in a geodesic home. While it was very close to the freeway, I couldn't hear any cars. It is nestled in a large grove of redwoods and ferns. The accommodations where amazing and there was even a bottle of wine waiting for me! It was really close to a gorgeous beach and an evening restaurant that I was unable to try. A great place to relax and unplug. There is a stereo and large screen tv and wifi if you want to stay plugged. The gorgeous accommodations where even nicer than the pictures online. Run, don't walk to stay here. I plan to be back as soon as I can and for a longer stay! Thank you Patricia!
The dome house is a very cozy, private and well appointed home that we have immensely enjoyed on two seperate occassions now. Nestled amongst giant redwoods, it is very private and secluded. An excellent romantic getaway to simply relax and recharge. The energy and atmosphere is simply unbeatable, and Patricia has always been a delight to work with.
Lovely and unique home in a private and lush setting. Clean, comfortable and safe. Well-stocked kitchen with a generous array of spices and herbs. The host, Patricia, couldn’t have been more helpful with suggestions for restaurants, grocery stores and even particular food items that we might enjoy. Communication with her was excellent and timely. That was especially helpful as technological problems related to message communication with VRBO occurred regularly. The description of the property was spot on and the rules regarding use of it were reasonable and preferred (e.g., no shoes in the house). I’d choose this place again and wish that more rentals were hosted by folks like Patricia.
This property is titled “Charming Dome House” and that’s exactly what it is. The grounds the Dome House sits on is beautiful and peaceful. The home itself is comfortable, stylish and welcoming. Staying here was perfect for our needs and goals for our trip. Very good access to the national and state redwood parks as well as the beaches and coastline. Patricia, the host, was also very welcoming to us at our arrival. She made sure we knew where to find things and answered any questions we had. Patricia had great recommendations for local restaurants, etc in the local area. I definitely recommend the Dome House and will look to reserving it again the next time we visit the area. Simply put, we loved everything about staying here!
Patricia’s place is very special. Her attention to detail and anticipation of anything you might need is spot on. We loved this home. Every morning we would wake up to the peace and solitude of the redwood trees yet we were only 5 minutes from town. I wish our stay here would have been longer. Cannot wait to come back. We came to the redwoods to reaffirm our wedding vows. We realized when we got here that we had found the perfect spot on this property a little piece of heaven on earth. Thank you for sharing this amazing property with us.
This immaculate gem of a cabin was just as advertised. Beautiful Dome House decorated so warmly that you felt you were staying with good friends! Patricia was a wonderful hostess, ensuring we were introduced to all the features and what local restaurants and attractions might interest us. She even left us with a bottle of wine, fresh flowers and all the fixings for a cozy fire in the living room wood-burning stove. I absolutely loved all the extra touches she did in the house, including stunning tilwork in both bathrooms and the kitchen and lovely furnishings, many of them antiques, throughout the house. There weren't any close neighbors, so it felt like we were on a cozy retreat all by ourselves out in the redwoods. I would most highly recommend this cabin rental!
The Dome House was such a relaxing and quiet place to stay while on our visit to the Redwoods National Park. The home is very clean and comfortable. It is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. The grounds felt like we were deep in the woods, yet so close to Trinidad, a beautiful beach town. Murphy’s Market had all of the supplies we needed, and we had the best clam chowder at the Trinidad Bay Eatery and Gallery. The proximity to the Redwoods allowed us to take some amazing hikes on the James Irvine Trail and Fern Canyon, the Lady Bird Johnson Grove, and further north the Grove of the Titans. We really enjoyed our stay at the Dome House.
This property is beautiful. The home is exactly what the pictures show, beautiful and well maintained. Patricia is an amazing host, quick to answer questions and offer tips on the area. We used it as a home base for exploring the national park. Loved the fire pit, grill on the deck and comfortable living room/kitchen. The host is particular about wearing socks inside, to protect the floors. We hope to return again.
We booked the Dome House specifically for the remote, Nestled in the Redwoods description and we were not disappointed. Before arriving we were a bit concerned as my son is 6' 3 and I'm 6' 1 so looking at the pictures we were not sure how much the dome shaped roof would effect us, but there were no issues. It's a quirky little house with lots of nick-nacks both inside and around the yard to see. Patricia met us upon arrival to show the place and offered suggestions for food and adventures. Unfortunately the weather was not great, but the location was perfect for launching trips into the Redwoods balanced with coming back to Trinidad & McKinleyville for meals. Six Rivers Brewery in McKinleyville was a great find for those who like Breweries.
The decor is thoroughly themed, with jewel tones and lady butterflies prominent, as well as travel (check out the map pins for some interesting places guests have come from). The place was fun, the host was helpful! Be prepared for a neighborhood without sidewalks, but with friendly people and their pets.
Met up with family for a visit to the Redwood National Parks and to relax and enjoy our time together. We had a wonderful visit with family and took a drive viewing the Redwoods and visited the drive thru tree! Very special time and wonderful memories with family. Dome house was beautifully decorated and comfortable. Patricia was very friendly and accommodating.. Wish we could of stayed longer!!
