Charming Country Home, Beautiful Mountain Views, Near Vacation Activities.

I know we rented the house, but it felt more like we were staying at a friends house. The manager thought of everything, all the little extras that made you feel at home. Add the fact that when I walked in the door it was like walking into my parents house. Couldn’t have asked for a better end to our vacation!

My family and I loved our stay. It felt like being at home. We were close to everything we wanted to do. The home was clean and well stocked in the kitchen with pots, pans, plates, cups-and COFFEE! Everything you need, just bring your own food. Would love to stay again. Thank you for helping us create some memories!

Everything good, from host to amenities. It was the arrangement of the living room that was best for us-- could talk or watch TV, or read, or work a puzzle all at the same time! Dining room held us all very nicely.

Had an amazing stay. Will be rebooking someday in the near future. The ambiance of the house is exactly what you'd like if you're a city dweller like myself and family. All the amenities are perfect and very close to Luray.

Melissa was great and very welcoming. We absolutely loved all the amenities. The views were incredible and we loved the porches especially. My family would love to come back if they would have us! Wood paneling . Had an amazing time at the caverns and other attractions. Also, great kitchen wares!

The home was charming and comfortable. My husband and I were immediately drawn to the front porch and spent a lot of time there enjoying the beautiful scenic valley. Inside, the home had everything we needed for a great vacation. We loved the feel of family history and the decor that conveyed a feeling of warmth and solace.

Perfect stay, definitely be back!

Very cozy! The location was minutes from the main town area for dining options and less than 5 minutes from the entrance to the Luray Caverns. This was also convenient to the Lake Arrowhead Park, where we spent two days racing triathlons. The views were amazing!

My family enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Host was prompt with messages and check in/ out was very easy. Beds were very comfortable, plenty of room to spread out, dog friendly, close to restaurants and a beautiful mountain view! Thank you!

Excellent location that is close to Luray Caverns and Shenandoah park. We hiked and went to the caverns and loved it. The host was great and the house was clean. The photos are accurate. It was like staying in my grandparents home. Woke up at 5am and saw a HUGE doe right outside the window. Spent most of the time on the porch enjoying the Mountain views.

The house was nice and clean. Enjoyed sitting on the swing with the view of the mountains and cows. Owners were very responsive to a minor maintenance issue.

There were many thoughtful elements in the home and we enjoyed the nostalgic atmosphere with gorgeous views from the porch. Our kids loved it and it was the perfect location to visit Shenandoah National Park. The host was excellent!

This was our second time staying at Brubaker House in Luray. Just like the first time, everything was wonderful. The house was clean, well-stocked, and our host Melissi even remembered that this visit was to celebrate a birthday. Our favorite locations are the front porch (the view of Kennedy Peak in the distance never gets old), and the cozy sun porch, where we read and ate all of our meals. Thanks again for the hospitality and comfort that's just like home. We'll be back again next year!

The Brubaker property is a charming craftsman style home that has been lovingly cared for by multiple generations. While it has 'old world' charm, it is equipped with all the modern conveniences you would expect and is immaculately clean. Melissi was very helpful with checkin and in welcoming us to the area. We look forward to a future visit.

My daughter and I stayed here for a few days before Christmas to hike Shenandoah National Park. The location was perfect and the home was amazing. It was clean, had plenty of room, well stocked with supplies, easy instructions and simple check in process. When we return to the area to hike again in the future this is definitely where we will be staying. Highly recommended!!

This was our third stay at the Brubaker House. It is always a great experience. Perfect in every way. Comfortable, clean, cozy, and every attention to detail. A real pleasure to enjoy. Super hostess and so kind and flexible about arrival times due to long distances. Melissi is a real asset to this property.

As with our first stay in June everything was great!

We come here to The Brubaker house every year around Halloween to go to Darkwood Manor. The hosts feel more like part of our family. The setting & views of the mountains and the cows are breathtaking. The house is clean and it is unique and the host have stocked it with everything imaginable. There is plenty of room for a large family and somehow these people that own the home have made their home feel like our own. I cannot imagine ever coming to Lara again and not staying at this place. Thank you, Melissa and your family.

We really enjoyed our time at the Brubaker House. We felt right at home there. Our dog who is usually a little anxious when we are away, was very comfortable also. If we stay in the area again, we will definitely be in touch with Melissa.

We enjoyed our stay while visiting Shenandoah NP. We were only 15 minutes from the Thortons Gap entrance. The views from the front porch were so nice, and we saw an eagle roosting in a tree the morning we left. Melissi was very easy to communicate with. We were arriving in the evening, so she was sure to leave lights on for us so the house wouldn’t be dark. We really appreciated this.

We had a wonderful seven-day vacation at Brubaker House in Luray, VA. Melissi Hammer-Moyer was a fabulous property manager. She was in touch several times prior to our stay, and then met us at Brubaker House upon arrival. Melissi gave us a tour of the home, and shared its interesting family history. Her hospitality made all the difference in what turned out to be a rainy week! Despite the damp weather, we had a fantastic experience. We spent two days relaxing at the house and enjoying the view from its front porch (gorgeous!). We took day trips to Skyline Drive, Luray Caverns, Belle Grove Plantation, and James Madison's Montpelier. We ate delicious dinners at Ollie Cat Cafe and The Speakeasy at Mimslyn Inn, both in Luray, and then fixed our own dinners in the house's well-stocked country kitchen. In summary, it was a memorable and relaxing week. We thank Melissi for making our stay so comfortable and highly recommend Brubaker House. We definitely plan to return in the future!

The house was clean and dog friendly! The house was what I remembered from my parents house from 1970's, wood paneling, pink bathroom tiling etc. But it did the job for me. The two A/C units, one for each floor, was a nice touch. Thanks!

We had family staying that were in Luray for weekend wedding events They loved their stay and enjoyed drinking coffee on the porch and gazing out of the windows at the mountains.

My family took a few days to visit Luray area and had a great time! The home owner greeted us when we got there and was very friendly and even told us some history about the house which was neat. We enjoyed the house and the property. The views were very pretty and we enjoyed hanging out on the front porch. We visited the Luray Caverns while there too and they were really neat.

Our stay was wonderful. The whole place had a comfortable charming quality like being at Grandma's and living your worries behind. The house was clean and its location to the attractions and town was great it was not far but in a quiet beautiful neighborhood where we could enjoy the mountains!

The house was as listed and had everything needed for our stay. Beautiful views from the front porch. The host was very responsive and was able to accommodate our request for early check in. Of note, 2 bedrooms are on the 2nd level, but the only bathrooms are on the 1st level.
