Historic Watts Hospital-Hillandale is one of Durham’s most sought-after neighborhoods, both for its history and prime location. The former Watts Hospital is now home to the prestigious North Carolina School of Science & Math (Go, Unicorns!). Club Boulevard, our main drag, is home to the best treats on Halloween, attracting thousands of costumed kiddos from all over Durham annually. This welcoming family neighborhood is also just a few blocks from the bustling 9th Street & Broad Street restaurant and shopping districts - your morning coffee, grocery shopping and dinner out are all within 1 mile.
We love that we can enjoy the peace and quiet on our street, and within a 15 minute walk be in the middle of everything.

You will have the entire home and yard to yourselves for the duration of the visit.
Watts Hospital-Hillandale is conveniently located and very walk-friendly, so you might not even need a car while you’re here! You'll be walking distance to coffee shops, restaurants, groceries and more.
Lyft/Uber/Scooters, etc are also prevalent around town.
If you do have your own vehicle, street parking in the neighborhood in free and plentiful.

This classic bungalow has been updated with modern systems while holding on to the retro features unique to its period. Thoughtfully decorated in an eclectic aesthetic, including artwork we’ve collected in our travels, the comfy appointments and warm colors make the home feel cozy.
Both bedrooms enjoy east facing windows to capture the rising sun. The larger bedroom includes a peaceful remote workspace. South facing windows bring all-day natural light into the living room and one bedroom. Built in bookcases and closets hold a variety of treasures, and also plenty of room for your own clothing and items.
Don’t let the retro fridge fool you - this stocked kitchen is prepared for anything you want to make, with a full gas range & oven, tea kettle, coffee maker and microwave. Plus, of course, the basic amenities for chopping, mixing and storing your meal. And plenty of wine glasses (Priorities!) The space has a separate dining room, where you and your group can enjoy relaxing meals. It can also serve as a remote workspace.
Relax in the comfy living room, where you can stream all your favorites on the Smart TV, play a board game or just cozy up with a good book! Feel free to browse our library of both books and games.
A washer & dryer are also available for your convenience.

We are Delighted Properties, because that is how we want you to feel when you walk in the door. The Bull City is our home and we want to share it with you, through personal recommendations and the items & services we provide throughout your space. Amazing & very safe neighborhood! Durham has some sketchy parts, so the fact that this was affordable AND in an area I felt comfortable in made this place absolutely perfect! The house was very clean & organized as well. Definitely would recommend!

This cottage is all about comfort, everything you need in a home away from home except, perhaps, a dishwasher. A nice feature in the master bedroom is the addition of an office desk for those who work remotely. This cozy home is within a five-minute drive of Duke University Hospital in a mature neighbourhood shaded by 75 years old trees. Being able to sit on the outdoor patio and grill dinner after a stressful day was a healing experience. Don't be surprised by the occasional critter who also call this suburban forest home: squirrels, chipmunks, daddy long legs ...
