1/2 way between upper and lower Modica it is was a perfect location for exploring the City. Plenty of parking on nearby streets, but summer may be more challenging. If you are using Google maps to navigate you need to use the the street number 51 vs 9 to get you home.

We loved this apartment. The views of Modica were amazing. The decor so well done. Plenty of room for 4. Sits above the city so must be able to climb many stairs. Day trip to Noto well worth it and of course the train ride through Modica!

This funky artistic apartment is in a great location and is well suited for two couples travelling together. There are two balconies with amazing views over Modica. The apartment was well equipped and very comfortable. Communication with the host went smoothly. Modica is a hill town of many steps, and the situation of the apartment might be challenging for those with mobility issues, but the view is well worth the effort.

This apartment has amazing views from both floors. While compact, it is very comfortable and fully equipped. We were given a wonderful welcome by Aurora who settled us in with chocolates and a huge selection of fruit. She remained available to us throughout our visit for help or advice. We loved shopping for food in Modica and there are wonderful salumerias everywhere. Be prepared for lots of steps - our iPhone app told us it was a 16 story walk back up from the lower part of Modica where many good restaurants are located. We enjoyed the hike however as it offered incomparable views of the town and the church of San Giorgio.

My husband and I had a very enjoyable stay at this apartment. It was our first time to Sicily and Modica is very charming. Aurora was extremely helpful getting us situated and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit here. The apartment is very quiet at night, perfect for sleeping and down time. Be prepared for lots of walking and enjoy the Modican chocolate!

This house is beautifully renovated to keep the old charm but is very modern in its conveniences. The art and views are outstanding. The beds are very comfortable with crisp white linen. The location perfect to explore Old Modica. It was all simply perfect!

We had a wonderful stay in Sicily over the New Year and the view of fireworks over the hillside from the balconies will stay with us for a very long time. The house is great, beautifully decorated and (so long as you can deal with lots of stairs) the location in Modica Alta is outstanding. The hosting from Aurora was faultless and we had everything we needed for a memorable holiday.

This apartment is perfect for travelers who are looking for a charming and clean two bedroom residence on an atmospheric street in Modica Alta. The views from the balconies are stunning, looking out over the streets and churches below. The apartment is on two levels with one bedroom and bathroom upstairs so stairs must not be a problem for you. The charming streets around the apartment are paved with ancient stones so rolling your suitcases there is a bit of a challange as parking spots are on the street 300 yards away. It is well worth it to stay in this wonderful place and immerse yourself in the Modica Alta experience of daily living, complete with Modica chocolate, church exploring and wonderful dinners out in the old town. Amalia, the manager, will meet you at arrival and help you get set up in the aprtment with a very thorough orientation. She is very helpful and responsive and we loved working with her as we did with Luca, the owner. Modica Alta is located so that you can take day trips to Ortygia, the Villa Romana and Morgantina and Cava d'Iispica which are all beautiful destinations. Parking is on city streets anywhere you can find it. The only glitch that we had was that the Wifi was not working all the time in the apartment, which Amalia and Luca assisted us with promptly. I highly recommend this property. Its location in Modica Alta is very desirable and the people of the town will make your stay memorable. I hope to come back someday to enjoy more of Sicily and Modica Alta!

We have rented flats and homes in Italy for decades but Anima a Sud was by far the best yet. Luca is a warm & gracious host, and Amalia was incredibly helpful in getting us settled and well-oriented to the area. She even took us shopping for groceries upon our arrival! Anima a Sud is inspired with Luca's fresh & innovative art that he has crafted (beautiful!!), and with his interesting architectural features. The views are wonderful, the beds are cozy, the bathrooms and kitchen are well-equipped, and the balcony & terrace are perfect for lounging, eating, and toasting wine to the surrounding beauty. The strolls through town enable you to capture the essence of this beautiful town, get to all the best restaurants - far too many for you to be able to get to in only one stay! - and meet the locals along the way. You could stay weeks and never really have to leave Modica...and coudl spend days just settled into Anima a Sud, and appreciate the views and comfort - without leaving home. We will return again and again - to soak up the charm & beauty of Modica, and to be comforted & inspired again by Anima a Sud. Grazie Tanto, Caro Luca!

We loved our stay at AnimeaSud, the people were great to work with and the property was very clean and look just like the pictures. It is set in the middle of the town. You need to drive or walk up the mountain or go down the mountain for dinning, shopps etc. You need to bring walking shoes as there are alot of steps, narrow streets and hills. We had some very pretty sunny days and some not so pretty. When the fog rolls in you are in a giant cloud. It was so different from home that now that we have returned it's like we were back in time. Luca the owner was a joy to work with as well as our greeter Ameila. All in all we have a very nice time. We shared the house with another couple and it work out great with bathrooms on each floor. The beds were great, which is a big plus when traveling outside of the US. You must be able to get around on your two feet. We had a large car being that we were 4 adults with 6 bags. Our car could not get down alot of the narrow streets, parking is also an issue so when you get a space you don't want to lose it. So keep that in mind.
