This is cottage is the best of both worlds - both lakeside and trailside. It's ideal for the outdoor family who wants lake access for fishing, kayaking, and boating. Hart Lake (also known as Little Silver Lake) is an all sports lake. Included with this cottage is a canoe and three kayaks which you can take out and go fishing or cruise around the lake. The lakefront is intentionally left alone for fish and wildlife habitat - you'll have plenty of yellow lily pads and Illinois pondweed holding the bass or pike of your dreams! The floating dock is the perfect spot for launching kayaks and canoes, and docking your boat/jet ski which can be launched at the public access. This is not a sugar-sand beachfront, rather, it's been kept in its most natural state to attract creatures big and small.

The A-frame is uniquely situated at the trailhead of the Manistee National Forest, with miles upon miles of ATV/UTV & hiking trails, and small game and waterfowl hunting opportunities. This trail system connects with the Michigan State Snowmobile Trail, and can be the launch point of your adventure for ATV'ing, snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, and waterfowl hunting on Unger Lake and others. Whitetail deer, turkey, owls, and many other critters are regular inhabitants of the trail system.

There is ample room for throwing a football and other outdoor games as the lot is very spacious. Pack light because also included are linens, towels, beach towels, all your paper needs, hard wood for fire pit, Wi-Fi, stocked kitchen, flat screen TV and basic cable.

This charming cottage is located only 15 minutes from Cedar Point's Michigan Adventure Amusement Park, 10 minutes from Stonegate Golf Club, 30 minutes from Double JJ Ranch (indoor water park for rainy days), 40 minutes from Silver Lake Sand Dunes, 20 minutes from Muskegon State Park and numerous other attractions, Cedar Point Michigan Adventure Amusement Park (19 minutes), local vegetable stand (4 minutes), local mini-market/grocery complete with everything you need including meat, cheese, candy, supplies, gas and more (6 minutes), seasonal fruit farms, pizza joint (8 minutes), local bar and restaurant (7 minutes), wineries/breweries (25-30 minutes). For the girls, shop in downtown Grand Haven or Whitehall (awesome gift, clothing and specialty food shops).

For nature lovers, the bird calls here are fantastic. This cottage is lovely for those who want a peaceful place to relax, read, hike, cook, or just be. This is an amazing place for kids to fish, swim, roast marshmallows around the camp fire and play on their own beach. Come stay with us!!

We had a wonderful stay here! Plenty of space and accomodations for our family of 5. Location was great. Swimming and fishing off the pier would have been ideal but muck and weeds make it tough. But the kayaks and row boat were amazing and we spent literally hours on the lake in them. And the outdoor shower was a hit with my kids! We had a great stay here!

The checkin process was easy and the place was very clean and accurate to listing. We were able to find everything that we needed easily. We had a great time in the kayaks and really enjoyed the outdoor shower (which was so great to not track sand and dirt everywhere!). Plenty of games to play and movies to watch. The kids each had their own areas and were very comfortable.

We loved everything about this property. They include anything you might need for your stay and have extremely clear instructions located in the basket on the kitchen table. We all loved the lake and I caught 26 small bass over 4 days. The kayaks and canoe are high quality and fun for all ages. The washer and dryer are newer models and work quite well. The house has all staples you might need. Book with confidence!

Fun, relaxing place to stay. We caught several bass while out in the lake, and there is horseback riding (Stony Lake Stables) and Lewis Adventure Farm and Zoo not too far away.

Overall, it was a nice stay. Sleeps a lot of people which is exactly what we were looking for. I would consider it a good value and the property host were very easy to work with.

The hosts were very nice, and allowed us to check in early. However, there were a number of problems with our stay. First of all, the beds were all terrible. The queen bed felt like it had been used for a number of years - very little support, and difficult to sleep. The twin beds were even less comfortable. 3 nights with very little sleep is no fun. Also, neither the upstairs nor the downstairs had any really comfortable furniture. The downstairs in particular only had a love seat and 2 stand alone padded chairs - not really conducive to sitting with a family and earring TV for any amount of time. Furthermore, whenever the AC was on, there was an extremely loud intermittent rattling noise that was only made tolerable by a loud dehumidifier in the basement. Additionally, we were told the lake was swimable, but the entire area all around the house's dock was a swamp, and would've been disgusting and dangerous for a child. Finally, the listing said there was a hot tub, but it turned out to be a spa-style tub with no actual spa jets. So basically just a bigger tub than normal with handles. On the plus side, it was an overall beautiful property, especially the lake. We were able to see what we thought were some herons fishing for food, and canoeing was fun as well (once you got out of the swampy area). The house itself appeared to be pretty well maintained, with a number of nice features, and the hosts were very generous with supplies - plenty of bug repellant, TP, etc.

This home was very comfortable for our family. Our 4 year old grandson loved running around the property exploring, fishing, catching frogs, having a fire, etc. The location is private and peaceful. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The kayaks and canoes were great to get out on the lake for fishing. The lake neighbors were mostly quiet, a few speed boats periodically but not intrusive. Overall a great retreat for us!

The property was located at the end of the road in a very quiet neighborhood. We had a lovely relaxing time kayaking, canoeing and enjoying conversation and friendship. Lake Michigan beaches, parks, restaurants, ice cream and shopping opportunities were close by.

Charming is the perfect word to describe this home. It’s at the end of the road and is quiet, serene and perfect to disconnect from reality. A short drive to Muskegon for great food and cute ambiance. The beds and furniture were comfy and we felt safe there. The owners were attentive and had great suggestions when asked questions.

The house was large and everyone had a bed to sleep in.. The only thing I personally had trouble with was the Steps, Indoor and outdoor..Lots and Lots of steps. So best advice for someone who isn't top notch on balance and ability to climb this place is not for you..

If you are looking for a quiet, tucked away lake spot spot filled with nature, this is it. Where to begin? There are plenty of beds, our kids especially loved the loft area. There are 2 full bathrooms which is a must for our family of mostly girls. The finished basement is nice and cool, the couches there are comfy and we had a nice movie night down there. We hiked the trails that are right next to the property and used the kayaks that were provided. I had coffee outside every morning listening to the birds. There are also public beaches on Lake Michigan within 30 minutes of the property. We especially liked Duck Lake State Park. Muskegon has some nice restaurants to eat at. We had a great time and would definitely return. Thanks!!

This was our second visit to the Sak's cottage. Our large family gathers in the area every July, and this Twin Lake hide-away was perfect for us to decompress in between family activities. Plenty of space, great amenities, beautiful view of Little Siver Lake.

We stayed for my daughter's violin camp nearby as we needed just a little more space than the cabins there provide. My family loved the house, beautiful area and it’s great being at the quiet end of the road (there are some crazy potholes but it’s doable). The house is very well equipped, and we appreciated all the helpful info from the owners. We didn’t have a chance to make use of everything it had to offer, but really hope to be back next year. Even just lounging and watching a movie was fun with the beautiful views and A-frame layout. Thank you very much for the great stay!

Cozy cabin on small quiet lake. Didnt get any bites on our fishing lines, but enjoyed canoeing and being on water. Also enjoyed the trails near by, and the quaint eateries about 20 minutes away.
