Charming 4BR Canal front Townhouse with Kayaks & Easy Beach Access–Hidden Harbor

Wonderful location - mere feet from the Bethany Loop Canal and a ten minute walk to the beach. Large pool and nice combined tennis/pickle ball court. Since the complex is only 32 units, the common area was quiet and not crowded. Enjoyed sitting on the deck next to the canal, where there was always a breeze and some welcome shade. Enjoyed the many birds that hung around the marsh and canal.The unit was pretty much as described, decent-sized kitchen, nice bedrooms and baths. Thought at first the two living rooms were a kinda weird feature but since there were six of us, it provided an opportunity to get away from one another at times. Full-sized washer and dryer nice for laundering large beach and bath towels. Only a few steps to enter the unit from front or back, welcome to my arthritic knees. Nice deck, but weather was so hot and humid we didn't use it. Grandkids enjoyed the two kayaks and the storage unit next to the deck was well-equipped.Now the negatives. The ice maker in the fridge wasn't working when we checked in but there were plenty of ice cube trays and Wilgus sent out an employee to repair it on Wednesday. The one major issue we experienced was a beeping alarm that started late Wednesday night and continued non-stop. A Wilgus agent said it was probably the sump pump and the owner would send someone out to address it. No one ever came and none of us was about to go into the crawl space to reset it. It wasn't especially loud but it was annoying.

I am very particular and quirky about where I stay. Once we find a house that doesn’t make anxious, we go back every year to that house. We outgrew our first and our second one has not been rented since Covid. This is the second year we have stayed here. Definitely a yearly tradition. A few issues with maintenance and equipment, but the problems were always addressed with in the hour. When the washing machine broke, they replaced the washer and dryer with brand new equipment. Great property. Close to the beach and town but still quiet. I was comfortable allowing my older children to walk home from the beach without me. The kids loved pickleball and we enjoyed the water access. While water equipment is provided, we used our own boards and kayaks. The canal was a great place to practice SUP and the pond was calm and enjoyable. Great place for our needs.

Great location, definitely within walking distance to everything. Loved the access to the water. Unfortunately the kayaks at the house are not accessible to renters. So we did buy a paddle board and am hooked. But it was disappointing to see kayaks there we couldn’t use. So, we had to wait to enjoy the water. The oven broke the first night and was promptly fixed the next morning. The house was clean enough. The rental is good enough. The location makes up for everything. Would rent again.

We had a good experience at this location for a family vacation. The townhouse was large enough to accommodate 5 adults and 3 children without any issues, and the community itself was nice, with a canal running directly behind. Some minor quibbles are the fact that the listing states that the community pool is a saltwater pool when it is in fact a freshwater pool and the fact that we kept experiencing small black ants coming into the house close to the sliding glass doors. Other than that it was a good trip.

It sleeps 8 and there were 8 beds but one child was disappointed that he couldn't sleep in the trundle bed (no mattress)

New key pad locks stink. Could not get into the unit due to faulty new lock. Had to call Property management and have them let us in. Technology can’t beat a trusty key. Other then that everything was 10/10
