Rockland, Maine
Welcome! Our charming 1855 house promises an unforgettable summer escape!
My family and I usually spend our summers at the property, and it is well-maintained. While we have done many upgrades, we have worked to keep most of its original details, such as the kitchen cabinets and the clawfoot tub. There are some quirks, and the floors are not level everywhere, but I think it adds to the charm.
The home has two floors. Downstairs, there is an eat-in kitchen, mud room, living room, primary bedroom, bathroom with shower, and small entrance foyer. The second floor has two bedrooms, one with a queen-size bed and one with a twin bed and a daybed. There is also a small office and a bathroom with a clawfoot tub. The washer and dryer are in the basement.
A bluestone patio out front is an excellent place for coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. The driveway is shared with two homes at the back of ours, and everyone has their own parking spaces.
Rockland has all the charm of a small town, and this home is very convenient to everything the town offers: the fabulous Farnsworth Museum, Atlantic Baking, Rock City Cafe, Adas, Rustica, and many more. The Michelin-starred Primos restaurant is 1.6 miles away. There are three bookstores and a beautiful public library. We are three blocks from Main Street and the working Rockland Harbor. Walgreens and Hannaford are less than a mile away. Walmart is 1.6 miles away.
This house is ideal for a group or family seeking a quaint "in-town" experience by the ocean without sacrificing convenience!
