Charming 3 bedroom house, lovely garden, near river 3km

Sensational house and lovely hosts. Quiet, well looked after and thoroughly relaxing. Wonder why we haven't been there earlier. Stayed with 3 kids and didn't miss anything. Amazing garden and surroundings. If you are into ardechoise rosé wine enjoying and overlooking a gorgeous green valley from the laid back terrasse with olive trees providing shade and the only thing you hear is the church bell, this is the place.

Wonderful landscape and place to stay .. holiday together and still enough space for all family members when wanted, inside and outside the house - for teenagers + parents. Everything is like in the description and more...The house is spacious and tastefully decorated, well equipped and clean. During our stay it was hot but we found several nice places just a short drive away at the river to take a refreshing bath or even swim.. Very nice and easy communication with advice and support from Julie and Mike. Thanks for everything!

The property was well equipped and the owner, Mike, was very helpful and made us feel welcome. The garden was enjoyed by all the family and we had some great days out to nearby sights.

Mike, the owner, really made us feel welcome to his manor. Unlike many other holiday homes, this place appears to have a gentle finishing touch which is a the same time as practical as one's own house. The kiwi terrace provides a smashing view over the medieval hamlet, its church and the green valley. No need for a swimming pool here, as the nearby river (10 minutes drive) offers truly scenic and quiet bathing possibilities without the hustle of the crowded Ardeche river near Vallon Pont d'Arc (at least in August). We stayed here for 2 weeks in August 2018 and loved every minute of it, despite the occasional storm, thunder and heatwave in the first week. We are keen cyclists and brought our own racing bikes from the Netherlands. Mike is very helpful in pointing out various rides to be made from Ribes, ranging from 30 to 100km. Highly recommendable are the hiking tours in the surroundings as well as the famous canoe trips either from Balazuc (12 km) or Charmes (24 km). For those with a less active life style this house offers possibilities to enjoy a relaxed holiday in a well kept garden full of separate terraces. If you enjoy shopping there are various markets throughout the region, easily to reach within 20 minutes by car.

The living room, kitchen/dining room were large, comfortable and very well equipped. Lovely comfy sofas, and loads of pots and pans if you are cooking. The beds are very comfortable, we slept like logs. The 3 bathrooms proved very useful, one beautifully modernised. The others are fine but not such a high standard. There are lots of little nooks around the extensive, terraced gardens, to find the perfect spot to relax in sun or shade, with views across the village and surrounding countryside. Further great views are found within walking distance, either a gentle stroll out of the back gate, or more strenuous walking following one of the marked routes. Mike, the owner, was friendly and helpful, but not intrusive, he was able to advise on local walks and cycling.
