My family and I had a great weekend stay in Savannah in this nice house. It was perfect for my husband and I and our adult children. Enjoyed playing ping pong in the garage. I should have seen the red flags to what was coming when the host contacted me and wanted me to cancel and rebook so she could increase the rate in order to charge me more. I messaged them back to say that I believed that doing this would be against VRBO policy. Later, this was dropped. During our stay we could never get the AC to a comfortable temperature. Several times we attempted to regulate the AC so we could be comfortable and would go back to check the thermostat only to find the it had been reset. I believe the host has some sort of control over it. Also, I reported to the host that the master toilet had a leak on Saturday and we were unable to use it for the rest of the weekend. It was leaking where the tank connects to the base. No one was sent to check or fix it until after we left. THEN, I got a message for the host that they were charging me for replacing the toilet. She said we damaged it. Regular use and we were accused of damaging it. It just started leaking. How is the guest responsible for faulty plumbing??? AND, how does a leak turn into replacing an entire toilet??? I feel like this host was trying to make me pay for more to make up for not being able to up charge me on the rate.
