Powledge House Rental Rules:
This is a NON SMOKING unit. NO SMOKING allowed inside this home. Smoking inside the home causes smoke damage to the home and can incur an extra cleaning fee to the renter.
PETS – Only dogs allowed approximately less than 50 pounds. Maximum Dogs allowed – 3. No other types of pets allowed. Pet details are specified in the renter agreement.
DAMAGE/RESERVATION DEPOSIT - Damage deposit payments are arranged and agreed upon via Rental site. Payment agreements are specified in these agreements online. Any special Addendums for payment will be added to this rental agreement.
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY – 10 -12 persons (based on rental agreement).
MINIMUM STAY – This property requires a two (2) night minimum stay. Longer minimum stays may be required during holiday periods or special events/games. If a rental is taken for less than two days, the guest will be charged this minimum rate.
INCLUSIVE FEES – Rates include a one-time linen & towel setup. Amenity fees are included in the rental rate.
NO DAILY HOUSEKEEPING SERVICE

WATER AND SEPTIC –DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products should be flushed at anytime. If it is found that feminine products have been flushed and clog the septic system, you could be charged damages of up to two hundred dollars ($200). Tampons should not be flushed but should be wrapped and thrown in the provided garbage cans.

CANDLES: Candles are not permitted to be burned inside of the home.
TRAVEL INSURANCE – We highly recommend all guests purchase travel insurance.
HANDICAP ASSESSABLE: The Property is NOT handicap accessible. There are no provisions made to make it handicap accessible. Any handicap renter or guest has been notified by accepting rental of the property. By the renter accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all renters/guests are assuming the risk of any harm. The landlord is not responsible.
WRITTEN EXCEPTIONS – Any exceptions to the above mentioned policies must be approved in writing in advance between the guest(s) and landlord /property manager.
FALSIFIED RESERVATIONS – Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment, deposit and/or rental money, and the party will not be permitted to check in.
PAYMENT – Payments are arranged and agreed upon via this Rental Site and/or via the landlord. Any special Addendum for payment will be added to this rental agreement. Payment Methods Accepted via this rental site / Landlord.
CANCELLATIONS – Cancellation policies are arranged and agreed upon via this Rental Site, and/or via the landlord. Any special Addendum for cancellations will be worked with the landlord / property manager. The Powledge House and land it resides on is privately owned; the landlord is not responsible for any Renters accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The Landlord is not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guests/renters. By accepting a reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premise. By accepting a reservation, the renter is agreeing to send the Landlord a copy of your Driver’s License via text/email along with the agreed upon Rental agreement (via email).

    This home is everything it is represented to be. A wonderful historic home with lots of room and all the modern amenities you need. The grounds are very secluded and beautiful, with plenty of outdoor spaces for folks to gather. We sat around the outdoor fire table on a lovely night as we grilled steaks and ate right there. Grocery store is very close by, and it is an easy trip into Auburn. I highly recommend this property!

    Overall, we were thrilled with the accommodations! The bedrooms were a perfect fit for our family of 10-12, plus a couple non-family extras. We are suckers for historical properties, and this one delighted us. Also loved the outdoor spaces and made great use of them. The one hiccup was that we had originally planned to use the grill and outdoor griddle. The grill needed charcoal, etc., which we didn't prepare for (our fault), but the griddle was rusty (and we didn't have time enough to clean it properly before meal time). So Plan B was to cook the meats in the oven, but, **NOTE TO MANAGER** the oven is not heating up to temperature. It took more than 3 hours to bake chicken breasts in the oven on 350F (which would only read out in Celsius), and the oven wouldn't actually offer any higher temp than the 350F. Then, it started giving Error and Short Out messages. (I'm trying to say that the oven is in need of repair or replacing.) The stove top performed just fine. We nonetheless enjoyed the property very much and have discussed returning!

    Powledge House is absolutely perfect for a family gathering (or Graduation Cookout)! We had the most amazing time celebrating our Auburn grad with family and friends. First, the setting is beautiful with manicured lawns, flowerbeds, a gazebo, pond and multiple patios around the house. The house is fantastic and extremely well stocked. There are two grills located near the gazebo which were fantastic for the family grill master to man! The kitchen has everything needed for a quiet night at home or even a larger gathering. The two main floor bedrooms are outfitted with king beds (very comfortable) and share a bathroom with large walk in shower. Upstairs has two queen beds and a bathroom as well. We had plenty of space to spread out even with two families. We also really loved being away from the busy-ness of Auburn with a quick drive in for events. Brian and Amy were great hosts and so helpful in planning our weekend.

    We had 10 family members from NY spend Thanksgiving weekend including the Iron Bowl game. Not one single complaint about this home and our terrific hosts.
