Stayed for a couple nights as a family of 5. The home is old and charming New England experience. We loved the Chickley River in the backyard, we played in it everyday sometimes twice a day. The property location was perfect, near the activities we had planned (rafting, mountain coaster). The host was great, and communicated well.
Very charming, loved the property, kitchen well stocked, ample toiletries, our family enjoyed our stay immensely.
My family stayed here for a long weekend and it was amazing. The house had everything we needed and was such a comfortable place to either be together or find a corner and relax alone. The views are amazing and the kids loved to play on all the land and the stream. We were busy from sun up to sun down and didn't even leave the property. And we are coming back fully recharged.
My family spent Fathers Day weekend here and had a blast! We didn’t even leave the property - relaxed in the yard, hiked nearby and played in the water. The farmhouse was so cozy and relaxing. Plenty of different areas to be together or spend quiet time alone. We all feel recharged!
Great place to stay for a weekend of skiing at Berkshire East. Comfortable and well-stocked house. Great communication with host.
Had a simply lovely getaway weekend at this home. The atmosphere is peaceful and sweet. Beds were comfy. Wood stove so beautiful! I have never seen a rental home so well stocked with amenities. We would love to return!

This house was a wonderful location for a 3-day, 3-generation family gathering after Christmas. There was plenty of room for indoor relaxing, a comfortable, well-equipped kitchen for eating, an expanse of snow for fun with a 5-year old on x-c skis (as well as nearby x-c trails), and a nice outdoor fire pit. We very much appreciated the high chair, portable crib, and the toys in the corner of the living room.
We really enjoyed our stay at Forge Hill Farm. The house worked out well as we had a nice day for hiking and a late Thanksgiving dinner that we cooked in the well stocked kitchen. Our poor rating of communication with property manager and check-in was due to Evolve not sending us critical information and is not a reflection of the quality of the house. The owner was very very helpful and responsive and helped us get into the house.
Book it for Thanksgiving, you will love it!
Upon opening the front door the musty odor overwhelmed us. The temperature in the home was 63 degrees and remained that way throughout the night. Upon contacting the owner the next morning I was informed that they controlled the homes heat remotely. The homes heat had not been turned on despite the fact that the overnight temp was 42 degrees. In fact, the heat did not even function in the home. This contributed to a very unpleasant stay. Additionally, due to the cold temperature and the presence of black mold two members of our party had to be treated for sinus infections after our stay. Because we were so uncomfortable during our stay I reached out to Evolve/Vrbo however, there was an obvious lack of concern for our health and comfort and a satisfactory resolution could not be reached. I do not recommend this property!! The windows do not function, it is not in code with the Massachusetts Department of health regulations and entirely unsuitable especially if you have young children.
Beautiful property. Enjoyed having my coffee listening to the birds in the morning, a dip in the river and a hike in the woods. Definitely recommend!
Great place for a family gathering and weekend getaway. Didn’t need to communicate with property owner much and they gave us our privacy, but always felt welcomed and they have the place stocked with all the right provisions and it’s a great home. Beautiful spot on the river.
