We loved this property! Looking forward to staying again.
High atop the Cashiers area this very secluded retreat was a wonderful spot for my self and my husband along with my 2 brothers and their wives. Bright great room with living area large and bright was terrific. Everything was immaculate and the owner is nearby not to close but charming and explained this property has been in her family since 1800’s or before. We would return!! The gravel road takes about 5 minutes and your 10 minutes beyond to Cashiers!!
It was inconvenient due to the many trips we had to make into town over the 3 days. I thought it was closer to town and not 20-25 mins away. Otherwise it was a excellent property and Sheila was very helpful and accomadating!
The house was lovely and very clean. The owner was accomodating and very friendly. The screened-in porch was my favorite. The drive is a bit of a hike up the mountain on a dirt road, which did not bother us because it added to the quietness of the property, but good for anyone to know ahead of scheduling. We would definitely come back and I highly recommend if you really want some time to unplug.
This Kettle Creek home has an absolutely stunning view of the surronding country-side, especially while the fall colors are on the surrounding trees. It is very well kept up, and comfortable inside, and is quiet at night. I would say that it is the most beautiful place we've stayed at in all of our trips to the Highlands/Cashiers area. The only minor difficulties we had were spotty internet service (not the owner's fault at all - Frontier is probably the only isp available), and steep, non-paved road access for the last 2 miles or so, which made it a bit difficult for our two-wheel-drive van (not a difficulty if you have 4 wheel drive). The beauty and comfort of the home more than made up for the few minor difficulties, and it is an excellent choice for a restful, peaceful vacation spot. Thank you!
I never complain just want future renters to know the Description of property is not quite accurate. On top of a mountain with the WORST gravel road to get to the property. No Wi Fi for anyone needing it. If you don't need it you are good. Owners personal property including family photos all over the home. Did not have that mountain getaway feel. Felt like l was intruding in someone's Home. Little things here and there need to be repaired. Mildew smell throughout downstairs TV downstairs does not work and was unplugged. Just felt like for the money there were things that needed to be addressed and owner did not disclose them. Could not wait to leave and will never be back. Also Owner lives in garage apartment next to the house which felt like again you were intruding.
Overall - great. Large house at the end of a very steep, curvy hill. The beds were a little misleading from the write-up. We were missing at least one twin. 2 people dropped out or we would have had a bed problem. Sheila is easy to reach and very helpful. We did enjoy our stay.
The house was spacious and clean and very well-stocked - perfect for our group of 7! Sheila responded very quickly to every question I had and went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed. She even brought over some homemade pumpkin bread!
Incredibly beautiful property - total oasis on top of a mountain. Fully stocked cozy home with everything you could ever imagine wanting or needing. We were very comfortable during our 4 week stay and felt right at home immediately. Sheila is extremely responsive and a very kind, warm person. I recommend this house whole heartedly - just be aware of the fact that it is very remote and you have a 15 min drive to town. Oh and the FirePit is beyond amazing. Total mountain dream :)
Comfortable and peaceful setting with an immaculate and comfortable home. Sheila was a reliable communicator and available as needed. Great layout for a large group with private spaces for privacy.
