We love staying on Palm Island and this house fit our needs well.
Great little spot. This property has bounced back well from the storm and will get even better with time! We had an amazing vacation!
We totally enjoyed our stay. Iris was a fabulous hostess and answered any questions quickly. She was able to get us in even after all the hurricane damage. We look forward to seeing her improvements she has in store. Great getaway from the north!
Was not told prior to arrival that the washing machine did not work. There was a short is the electrical wires on the last to days. But Iris was very helpful and easy to get ahold of.
So glad we found Casa Tortuga and had a chance to revisit Don Pedro ! The property was perfect for our needs and a great value! Iris includes some meaningful extras including a golf cart and the initial pass ($50 value!) to get you on the island. Property was clean, beds were comfortable, A/C worked great and bathrooms both had plenty room! Highly recommend!
We had a lovely vacation and the house was more than big enough for our family of five. We did Walmart and aldi grocery pickup for the week when we arrived. The ferry is a quick ride to get on and off the island. The golf cart fit 2 adults and three kids plus our beach gear. We loved the beaches and looking for shark teeth. Bring your own shampoo and hand soap for the sinks. Buy bottled water for your stay. Bring your own beach toys- we put our kids clothes inside them and put them in our travel bags. The surrounding homes are nice and we brought a rental jeep and went to the end of the island with the golf cart to the resort to have drinks and appetizers one evening. One thing I didn’t think over was the flight time and needing to ride off the island on the ferry during business hours so we left the evening before our plane left due to an early morning flight. It has a dishwasher and washer and dryer but the washer didn’t ring clothes out very well. We would recommend this place for families- it was so fun!
This island is beautiful and an untouched gem. It’s perfect for a low key vacation spent enjoying the beach and the house. The house is very well maintained and communication with the owner was excellent. We loved using the golf cart and ping pong table. My only complaint would be the beds. They aren’t very comfortable because they are so firm. Other than that, we had an amazing time here and would come again.
This property is a gem on an small tropical island. House is very comfortable. It was clean and neat and very beachy. We had to come to Florida for a funeral and this made our stay much more bearable. The island is beautiful and the beach is very private.
So quiet, so calm, very restful area, but not boring--plenty to do! Finding gopher turtles and their nests with our son & his toddler, riding on the (provided free) moto as our grandson called the golf cart, all up and down the roads. It's a small, very tidy and friendly community, but with miles of roads if you love checking out beautiful beaches and the beach homes near them. We could walk to several beaches and more by golf cart. Beautiful tall palms and other tropical/subtropical lush vegetation. An elite but environmentally responsible community. The house is WAY NICER, both outside and in, than the Feb. 2022 VRBO photo showed!! Beds are comfy and linens nice. It's an ISLAND, that's both good and bad, serene-- but you have to take a $55 roundtrip ferry (car) or $10/ea (ferry walk-on) to leave the island, and there are no shops , One restaurant (good but busy b/c it's at a private resort) & a little commissary for ice cream & a very few essentials like sunscreen/yogurt/snacks,etc. Beaches are decent (but not the finer sand, volleyball, etc you will find at Siesta). Equipment at the house is minimal: 1 adult sized & 2 smaller beach chairs (even though it will sleep 9!), 2 great beach mats. Kitchen is small & minimally equipped, but was OK for us. King bdrm/bath suite with bunkbeds is upstairs via SPIRAL STAIRCASE. We had a great time. Would like to have explored Englewood for great food/entertainment. But if you're looking for a REAL REST, and reconnecting with family, strolling, beaching, THiS IS YOUR PLACE, it's delightful!!
