Thank you for reading complete house rules before booking!

We want you to have a delightful and seamless stay. While we respect your privacy and will not be on the property during your visit, we are readily available to assist you. Please feel free to reach out via the messaging app or by phone if you have any questions or need recommendations.

The West End is one of Durham’s oldest neighborhoods, and historically one of the largest. Located roughly between the Downtown Durham/Durham Bulls Athletic Park and Duke’s West Campus, it is a lovely oasis with close proximity to anywhere you need to be!
The neighborhood is home to the Durham Co-op Market, Grub, The Cookery, the historic Maplewood Cemetery, and the Pauli Murray Center for History and Social Justice. (If you’re not familiar with West End native Pauli Murray, do yourself a favor and look them up. You’ll wonder how you’ve never heard of them before.) Groceries, coffee/cocktails, restaurants, events and history all within walking distance.
If you’re a walker or runner, you are in close proximity to the above-mentioned cemetery, the 1.75mi Duke East Campus trail, and the 26+ mile American Tobacco Trail.

You’ll have the entire home and property to yourself, including off-street parking for up to 2 cars.

We’re delighted to share our home with you! We hope our cozy space will be the same peaceful retreat for you as it is for us after a day of exploring the Bull City. The home has been fully renovated with all the modern amenities, and natural light infuses every room.
In the enormous primary bedroom, you’ll sink into the sumptuous king bed, perhaps cuddling up to stream your favorite before-bed show on the 60-in TV. The private bath boasts a double vanity and walk-in double shower! The large closet leaves you plenty of room to unpack.
The second bedroom is a serene retreat, also with an attached full bath and a clutter-free work space.
Gather in the great room on the cozy couch, large dining table or (as we all do!) around the kitchen counters as you create a meal to share. When the weather’s great - as it is three-quarters of the year - park yourself under the pergola on the back deck with your favorite beverage, and admire our neighbors’ luscious garden.
Smart HDTV’s include basic cable, or log into your favorite streaming services.
Looking to disconnect We’ve left some of our favorite games and books for your entertainment.
New high efficiency washer & dryer are also available for your use.

We are Delighted Properties, because that is how we want you to feel when you walk in the door. The Bull City is our home and we want to share it with you, through personal recommendations and the items & services we provide throughout your space. Look for all the local products we include (and ask us where you can find them for yourself!)
We take great care in creating a comfortable, home-but-better experience for your stay - we hope you'll Be Delighted!

DIY District (1.4mi, Fullsteam Brewery, Motorco, Geer Street Garden, Cocoa Cinnamon and more),

Brightleaf Square (0.8mi)
9th Street District (1.5mi, Elmo’s Diner, Vin Rouge, Juju, Dain’s Place, Monuts, Whole Foods, Harris Teeter and more!)

Feeling the need to get outside and move You’re 0.6 miles from Duke’s East Campus with its 1.75mi gravel loop, and under 1 mile to the start of the American Tobacco Trail. Check out the Durham Hike and Bike Map online or in your Welcome Basket for a complete guide to Durham’s 80+ trails and parks.

As you plan your travel to, from and around the Triangle, some helpful distances:
RDU Airport is 15 miles (about 20-25 minutes) away
Durham Amtrak, Bus Station and MegaBus pick up are 0.7 miles away
NC-147, with access to I-85 & I-40, is just 0.4 miles away
It’s easy to get to Raleigh (25mi), Chapel Hill (9mi), or RTP (10mi) with a car, cab or Lyft/Uber.

There is parking for 2 cars available in the driveway, and free street parking (please be courteous of the neighbors driveways!)

As stated in the house rules, there is an automatic minimum $250 service fee for any violations of house rules that require additional cleaning and/or cause damage. This is our home. We have tried to make it comfortable for you and for us, and have been thoughtful in the amenities we provide. We appreciate you for exercising the same level of thought and care when staying here.
While we are happy to host families, please note that the house is not “child-proofed,” nor do we provide any child-focused amenities (no crib, pack-n-play, high chair, etc).
We do ask that guests are relatively quiet after 10 PM, as a courtesy to neighbors. Parties and loud groups are not permitted. Thanks for helping us be good neighbors.
Smoking or vaping of any substances is not permitted in the house. If you do smoke outside, please dispose of your butts in the designated areas - if we find any on the ground, it’s an automatic $250 yard cleaning fee.
No pets, please. And out of respect for the owners allergies, we request no service animals either. They may be well trained, but they still have fur and dander.
There are exterior security cameras (locations specified in Safety section).
Due to the ongoing pandemic, guests are expected to abide by CDC/WHO guidelines, as well as all North Carolina and Durham Covid-19 guidelines. Many private restaurants and arts venues are requiring proof of vaccination to enter. Full up-to-date orders can be seen at ncdotgov.

The house was very clean and set up well inside. The neighborhood was not what we had expected. The streets were very crowded and driveway was only for one car. The AC in the house was not cooling house. We couldn’t get it cooler than 74 degrees. The ice maker was not working also. There were 3 large dogs next door that barked most of the time we were there. When we arrived back on Saturday one of the dogs had gotten into our yard and was at the gate barking at us. I sent a message through Vrbo and was surprised at the response. They thanked me for letting them know, but not concerned if any of these issues had affected our stay. I was a little disappointed with this experience compared to others that we have had.
