Casa Mourisca - Albino d'Óbidos

Fantastic area right in the heart of the castle. However, tricky to get to as you need to park your car 10 minutes away and then navigate through the cobbled streets. The house is very quaint, but has damp issues so you can smell mould ( although it was winter, so maybe it is better in summer). Heating was a bit basic. Barthroom had a vague smell of sewerage- not really strong, but enough for me to question the high price of the accomodation. Needs to spend a lot more on plumbing and heating, or halve the cost.

This is an extraordinary home in the very heart and walls of beautiful Obidos. Communication was timely, clear and welcoming and the property was unique and magnificent. It turned out to be the highlight of our 11-day trip and we left wishing for more time here. I would go back in a heart beat!

You could not ask for a better location! Walk out, turn the corner and the main street is right there for you to peruse all the way down to the main entrance. There is also a cafe immediately next door for coffe in the morning. The house itself is three levels and full of character. Super fun to stay in! We were here in June, but still slept comfortable as Marcelo provided an ac unit next to the bed on the top floor.The only catch was getting to this airbnb. Whether you are staying in the hotel/castle or here, it's very difficult to get to with luggage as cars are not allowed to drive in. So be prepared for a bit of a hike as this is not very clearly laid out om the property details nor in the instructions on how to get there. Overall, we really liked the house and it's location.

This spot is perfect, set inside the castle walls. Once settled in, we walked the entire town, ate dinner and didn’t move the car. Day 2, we had a 40 minute drive to Nazare, where we spent 1/2 a day at the beach. The only issue was the parking, they were setting up fir the Mid-evil festival so we had to park in town. Outside of that we enjoyed outstay in this property!!

We wanted to stay within the walls of Obidos and I think this property was the best one in the whole town. It was near an entrance to the town, closest to the castle and at the highest point so you could stand on the balcony and look out over the town. The property itself has such a wow factor! You have the modern amenities with all the historic charm still there. No one was outside as we walked around the town in the morning, a great time to get some pictures.

Perfect location. Hard to imagine the history. Plenty of space. Great overall accommodations. Lots of dining options. One overnight was perfect to explore during the day and then relax in history at night

Marcelo was an amazing host and his casa within the castle walls was a nice experience. Made our stay in Obidos memorable. A little cold and damp for our visit this time, but we will return.

The property is wonderfully located just inside the wall (and just a minute or two from public parking outside the wall), with so much character and comfort. We were forced to shorten our stay but can attest to a very comfortable bed upstairs, with a small terrace looking out on the wall and fields beyond, perfect as the town lights up at dusk, and a nicely equipped kitchen on the ground floor. The spacious bathroom on the floor below the kitchen has everything you need but is a steep spiral stairway down, so a small challenge for those with challenging knees. Truly a delightful and historic place, a rare find in such a historic place as Obidos. Many thanks for sharing this special place!
