DESCRIPTION
La Jolla, known as the Jewel of San Diego, is a must-see for anyone visiting Southern California, and if you want to stay in the middle of it all, this is the perfect vacation rental. Casa del Sol is one of 4 historic Beach Cottages built in the 1930s and lined up along a stairway leading from Prospect Street to La Jolla Cove known as Ocean Lane. As La Jolla grew and developed around them, the cottages have retained the original charm and appeal that have hosted countless visitors over decades of fun and relaxation.

Casa del Sol has been nicely updated to feature all the modern–day comforts of home. Comfy furnishings, two flat-screen cable TVs, a dedicated dining area, a fully–equipped kitchen, air conditioning, and a gas fireplace.

Additional amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi, air conditioning, in-home laundry, ceiling fans, BBQ, a starter kit of soaps, paper goods, trash bags, and one towel set and beach towel per occupant.

With water visibility sometimes exceeding 30 feet, this is a very popular place for scuba, snorkeling and kayaking.

    The home was fantastic! Everything was extra clean and the home was well stocked. It was centrally located in La Jolla and it was easy to walk to restaurants and the beach. Parking We got a ticket for “wheels not cramping curve” when we parked on a nearby hill. Google this and be prepared to park properly to avoid a ticket. The garage included is nice, but signs posted at the garage say car has to be out by 11. The only improvement I’d give to the room is to include a full length mirror somewhere in the studio!

    Came to town work with my business partner, and the house was great. In addition to me staying at the, we actually the living room and kitchen as a work space for our planning meetings. Location was central and easy for lunch and dinners. And I loved being so close to the beach. 10 out of 10. Will stay again.

    This cottage is nicely decorated and very clean. We decided beforehand not to rent a car and we made the right decision, as the location can’t be beat! You are within walking distance to the beach, grocery store, restaurants and shops. We did go out of the La Jolla area one time for a whale watching cruise and we were easily able to book an Uber for that, and the airport after our stay. The small negatives (but it wouldn’t stop us from re-booking) were that the sofa is very uncomfortable and the shower is tight. Also, if you have luggage, be sure to enter from Prospect St. and not Coast Blvd., as you will have several flights of steps to haul your luggage up (we found out the hard way). Overall, would recommend!
