Arroyo Seco, New Mexico
Arroyo Seco - Half way between Taos Ski Valley and Taos Village - 11 miles either direction - Private and secluded with panoramic mountain views
Casa de Little Tree is the former Little Tree Bed and Breakfast, so popular and loved by so many returning guests over the last 20 years. The proud new owners stayed here many times as they would visit and dream about "having a place in Taos someday". Their dream has happened and they have been devotedly dedicated to creating an exceptional Taos vacation rental for all who come to enjoy.
There are 5 large bedrooms total in the compound. The adobe main house has 3 inviting bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths, a den with a sleeper sofa and a banco for a quiet escape to read, meditate or nap.
The Casita, separated by a landscaped courtyard has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and 2 secluded walled courtyards and one that includes a hot tub for all to share. Every bedroom has its own distinct and inviting personality.
The Main house interior walls are hand plastered with mica, straw, and earthen pigments from the area and are accented with a variety of colorful imported tile. This highly touted craft adds a most subtle ambiance to each and every room. In addition, two of the bedrooms have rammed earth floors, an almost lost art in current times.
The picturesque courtyard features seasonal blooms, an apple tree, and a vast unimpeded panoramic view of the mountains, as well as the desert floor to the Rio Grande Gorge and beyond. A bench under the apple tree is a welcome respite for watching passing cloud or to gaze up at the starry nigh time sky
Enjoy alfresco dining under the spacious portico. Perfect for grilling, fellowship and celebrations such as a wedding or a family reunion. Out on the Hondo Mesa, peace, quiet and a gentle breeze are the norm and a quick run up to Arroyo Seco makes for an enjoyable afternoon. Opportunities for fly fishing, skiing, hiking, rafting, biking, horseback riding and ballooning are close at hand.
Stay at Casa de Little Tree and experience Taos as full and rich as living in Taos can get..
This is an unbelievable property. Perfect for a large family. Authentic New Mexico decor. Enjoyed the views from the courtyard every morning and evening. Would highly recommend.
Since the house was once a bed and breakfast, everyone could have their privacy if needed. We spent the bulk of our time in the living room with a fire, in the kitchen or around the kitchen table. It’s a perfect place to relax after a long day of snow skiing. We had everything we needed, and the property manager responded soon if we had a question. I would definitely go back.
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location between Taos Ski Valley and the town of Taos.
Enjoyed our stay! Would come back if we had another group with us! Plenty of room for the nine of us.
Property manager was very responsive and helpful. Our water unexpectedly shut off due to a mechanical error but was back on with the help of the property manager within an hour. The 3rd bedroom in the main house has a private entrance but does not have an entrance connecting to the house. If you have adults it’s a private room with its own bathroom but if you have kids they would have to exit outdoors to access the main house. This property has a well stocked and beautiful kitchen with beautiful panoramic views. The house only has small televisions in the two sitting areas in the main house, there are no tvs in the casita. Our family enjoyed the property and had a very memorable vacation.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family met for Thanksgiving and we were so pleased with the rental, location, hot tub, comfortable beds, lots of space for children to play, ample dishes, cookware, towels! Amazing home!
Our four children are spread far and wide so we try to get together once a year. They all deserve a vacation since they are using time-off. So I look for a property where they can all have a nice bedroom and bath. This one really fit the bill along lots of outdoor space, a hot tub and a great kitchen. We did bike riding, hiking, games, relaxing and eating well. We loved the kiva fireplaces! And the location in Arroyo Secco was much better than being in Taos. Beautiful mountain views and the town of Arroyo Seco was charming.
We were a group of 8 - 4 siblings and our spouses. We are 58 to 68 in age and active. We loved the courtyard, hot tub, big table, all the bathrooms and the well stocked kitchen. An enjoyable stay for all. Thank you to the hosts!
Loved the SouthWest Adobe style and the views from the property. everything was ship-shape. I would recommend it.
Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We enjoyed our stay at Casa de Little Tree. There was plenty of room for our 8 adults and 3 teens. It's 15-20 minute drive into downtown Taos and about 20-30 minute drive to Taos Ski Resort. We spent equal time between town and the Ski Resort so the house location worked well for us. But there's nothing close by. As one would expect in a remote area, the internet service was spotty. No A/C but the pleasant temps outside kept the house comfortable. The house is well stocked with fans, appliances, and misc supplies. We enjoyed our stay.
Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very unhappy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I have rented from Premiere Properties for more than 20 years and they have been incredibly helpful. This experience was nothing like those from the past stays. Housekeeping failed to clean our property and when we arrived, we were told our house was not ready but that they would try to find another property for us. This review is not for the original house but for the house (and maybe a different property management company) that we were moved to. The house that we were moved to was Can-Tina la Casa Compound located at 31 Rock Garden Gully Road in El Prado. The biggest concern was that this house had many steps and for ladies in the 70-80 age group, this was a challenge. Beds were also too high for some of us to get into and gel mattresses made it difficult to move once we were in the bed. Showers were slippery and there were no bath mats and no towel holders. Shower heads were designed for basketball players and were so high that they could not be reached or adjusted. The kitchen windows had no shades and working in the kitchen during the morning hours was impossible because the sun was so bright that even sunglasses did not help reduce the glare. In addition to the steps, there were raised thresholds at every door that were about l/2 inch and presented a stumble problem. This house would be perfect for young , nimble basketball players. I would not consider if I had young children (especially toddlers), wheel chair users, cane users or anyone with mobility problems or home safety issues.
Having spent more than 6 months of the year in vacation properties for the last three years, we have high expectations. This lovely place met and exceeded them. Comfortable, great layout, perfect location and more. We look forward to coming back again and appreciate the responsiveness and professionalism of the entire team for this property!
This was one of the most unique VRBOs I've ever experienced! We had a total of 11 friends from Denver stay there and each person/couple got their own room with their own bathroom! Most of them had their own private entrance and a fireplace too! It was like we had our own little community with the courtyard in the middle and the hot tub was a nice addition. We loved how remote the location was because the stars were beautiful! The kitchen and dining area were big enough to host all of us for dinner. It was a great stay!
