Casa Buena Vista: Outdoor Hot Tub - Walk to Plaza

This home is just lovely. We felt so comfortable here; it truly felt like a home away from home. We enjoyed walking the dogs through the quiet neighborhood and being able to walk to Santa Fe Plaza. The house is filled with interesting artwork and collectibles. Kitchen is well-appointed, beds comfortable and the shower in the master bedroom feels luxurious. In the afternoons we sat on the front porch while the dogs explored the large front yard area that rises above the street. Having access to a garage was much appreciated!

The location of this property is fantastic, you can park your car and not have to walk anywhere. It feels more spacious than the pictures show. Being an older home it has some quirks but is a great place to enjoy Santa Fe from.

This is one of the best properties we've ever stayed at in Santa Fe, and it was our fourth. Only thing lacking--there were no instructions about the trash. Was I supposed to take it down? What day?

Absolutely enjoyed staying at this lovely home. It was very comfortable. Convenient to the plaza. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we could possibly need. Would definitely rent it again. It was the perfect place to land with friends. Was unable to use the hot tub. That was the one disappointing thing. Other than that, the place is perfect. I’m sure they’ll rectify the problem with the hot tub for the next client. That would not hold me back from renting it again. Looking forward to returning.

Beautiful, cozy home. The artwork is amazing. Wonderful cozy bed. Very clean and well furnished. Wish we had gotten to stay longer. Loved the area too.

Such a beautiful home and garden, filled with extraordinary art and pottery to enjoy. The kitchen is stocked with everything needed for meal prep and picnicking or just enjoying lounging on the front porch. The location is perfect for walking to the Square, but still a quiet and friendly neighborhood. Returning here is definitely the top of our list for future visits to Santa Fe.

This is a large property with two bedrooms and an extra bed by the living-room. The outside patio is wonderful, very large under a roof with a pretty garden to look at. The house is very close to central Santa Fe which is also nice.The biggest complaint I have is that when going from the kitchen to the patio, you have to take two steps down to the living-room and then two steps back up. It is a tricky corner to navigate and could be difficult for people with mobility issues. There are lots of steps overall so I would advice anyone with mobility issues to be careful with this property. Otherwise a very nice property.

This house is a humdinger! It’s a spacious and thoughtfully renovated home. My wife has macular degeneration so she could have used more and brighter lights but for most people, the lighting is more than adequate. The inside and outside furniture are very comfortable and provide lots of space for entertainment. The master bedroom is large with a nice sitting area. There is a HUGE walk-in closet and dressers with lots of empty drawers. The kitchen is large with all the various gadgets, more than adequate silverware and utensils. The owners thoughtfully provided hand soap, dish soap and body lotion in pump containers in each bathroom and kitchen. A lot of thought went into making this property a home.Now the interesting parts. This place is WIRED. It has an integrated alarm system which seems to connect all the entries, doors and smoke detectors. A smoke detector did go off in the middle of the night, but the owner was right there to help solve the problem. I don’t suggest using the alarm system unless you carried Fort Knox with you on your vacation.The house does not come with a User Manual, but it should. The following is what I discovered during our stay. There is not room in this review to describe the intricacies of the Floor Heating and Cooling system. Have the manager go over the instructions for that and the Splits (A/C). It is not entirely intuitive

It is a beautiful, well appointed house with very comfortable beds. It is located in a quiet neighborhood with easy walkable access to the Plaza. Kitchen is well designed and equipped. Front porch overlooking the garden is a delight. Overall, an exquisite place to stay in Santa Fe.

A lovely home in a great location - had a great time.

My family of four visiting from Dallas enjoyed this cozy home. It easily accommodated two adults and two girls ages 5 and 2 1/2. The front yard was colorful and they enjoyed sitting on the patio and relaxing. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

This home is super spooky. My family felt so uncomfortable and my daughter had a panic attack. Difficult to get in with very difficult steps. My friend fell and hurt her foot. We had to leave right after check in and find a hotel. The home was clean but there was a weird old house smell. Decoration was quite spooky and very dark. I usually don’t like to place negative reviews but I wouldn’t want anyone to go through the same experience on their vacation. I shared my experience with the owner and got minimal reply, sensitivity or understanding, No refunds were offered and I have no idea if insurance will help us. We had to pay twice as much for our hotel stay and quite unhappy.

Lovely house in a quiet neighborhood that is very close to the Plaza and all the happenings of Santa Fe. Wonderful, super comfortable accommodations- we loved starting and ending each day on the covered patio overlooking the garden. And good place for my dog as well. If we return to Santa Fe, we will definitely stay at Casa Buena Vista again!

We stayed for four nights with a 9 month old on his first vacation and had a wonderful time. The location, outdoor seating and indoor amenities are top notch. Steam shower was a life saver for a family coming from a more humid and low-lying climate. Great home.

We spent 10 days in New Mexico in 5 different cities/houses and this was by far the coolest and most well appointed of all the places we stayed. All of the details were just so great. The beds were comfy with nice sheets and comforters, not just cheap generic ones a lot of places have. The towels are the huge, fluffy ones. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you could need. The outdoor areas were comfortable and relaxing. Different zones for heating/cooling for all the bedrooms and the bathrooms had great showers and lots of space. We walked to the plaza multiple times for shopping and dining, it was an easy walk. The driveway to get up and park was kind of tight since we had a larger car but otherwise this house was just such a perfect Santa Fe getaway and we loved it so much.

As advertised! I needed a quiet location to write and work, while also being close enough to walk to the plaza and my favorite lunch/dinner joints. This fit the bill beautifully! Lots of walkers in the neighborhood, so you know it’s safe. It was a 15 min walk to Cafe Pasqual’s and 17 mins to the Plaza but a very easy walk. Well stocked kitchen for cooking. Clean. Love the steam function in the shower, giant tub and hot tub. I spent a lot of time on the front porch. Fantastic! Will return.

Absolutely gorgeous home with a great hot tub. We had a great time.

This house is gorgeous-full of art and all the comforts of home. Touches like a full bag of Peet’s coffee, a brand new crock pot and tons of dishes make this place great. What wasn’t so good was that we had no heat our first morning (the fact that there were remote controls for wall-mounted units was not clear to us). Later that day we had no hot water and after emailing the property manager twice and calling once we heardnothing for over 24 hours. By that time the problem had resolved itself in the fact that we had ill-regulated showers-the temp fluctuated from scalding hot to cold. Your stay will be great if everything runs smoothly and you don’t need the manager.

This is the 2nd time staying here and will be coming back.

Casa Buena Vista was all we could have asked for -- and more! We spent Christmas Eve nestled in the cozy living room stoking the fire, then walked over to Canyon Road to enjoy the bonfires and farolitos, under a brilliant starry sky. The kitchen had everything we needed for baking & cooking, the baths are exquisite and stocked with plush towels (for the hottub too),, and the beds are memorably comfortable. The adobe walls made everything cozy and quiet, and we loved sitting onthe porch for a peek at the farolitos down in the Plaza -- and on Christmas Day a few snowflakes blew in too! Santa Fe is magical and this house was a perfect perch to see and do everything we wanted, then relax and regroup in comfort. Very thoughtfully appointed, very clean, very welcoming.

This is our third year to stay at this amazing property and have reservations next November. The property is very well kept full kitchen is with wonderful gas stove, and a gorgeous wood fireplace

This home is truly a jewel. It’s not as close to the plaza as you think. We definitely needed to drive a park a couple times to make it easier on plaza shopping days or nice dinners, but we would stay here again because it’s frankly just a perfect house and quiet. We valued the high end appliances, outstanding bathrooms, wood burning fireplace and garage for secure parking. The space was spotless and meticulously maintained. You won’t regret snagging this for your next trip to Santa Fe.

Overall, this place is truly wonderful and very well managed. The very few issues we encountered were addressed quickly. I really appreciated that we could bring our dogs and they had a wonderful time running around the front yard! Just a couple of things to be aware of for future visitors. The hot water can get really, really hot very fast. When taking a shower the water went from warm to scalding hot in seconds and could easily burn someone. Second, the heating system for the house is a little tricky to figure out. It took me three days to get the house to our preferred temperature. But, don't let these little issues deter you. This place is really lovely and very comfortable. We got snowed in for three days on our trip and were very happy just hanging out.

Rainy weather and a leaky roof prevented use of living room for a couple of days. I placed pots and vases on top of towels to catch the water. Host sent someone (maybe it was he, he didn't say) to have a look. We didn't expect the roof to be repaired while we were there for 5 nights, but a little rebate would've been nice. A lovely home with comfy old furniture and well-stocked kitchen. Second bedroom is very small compared with huge primary bedroom. Traveled to SF with a large group in 5 homes near one another. I would not stay here again, would rent one of the other homes - whose roofs did not leak. We enjoyed our trip in walkable Santa Fe. This home was priced well for a home in good repair.

Location is excellent, quiet and close to everything. The house is spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. You feel at home right away.

The house is beautiful with many unique features that made it even more enjoyable. For example, the doors are all amazing. The house would be ideal for two couples since there are two bedrooms (one quite a bit larger then the other) and two bathrooms (again, the master bath was larger with a unique shower design and separate tub while the second bath was perfectly lovely but had the shower/tub combination. The house would be ideal for entertaining although we did not have any friends or acquaintances over to visit. There is a sunken living room and a dining room in addition to the bar with barstools. The location is in a neighborhood several blocks south of the capitol building. It is an easy walk to the plaza as well as canyon road and the rail yard entertainment area. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the property to others.

My family and I (5 adults in total) recently stayed at Casa Buena Vista in Santa Fe. The home was truly lovely - cool on hot days and it had everything we needed for quick early morning breakfasts and preparing dinner in the evening. The decor is absolutely lovely, the front veranda and garden were delightful for end of day evening drinks, and for the early birds a dip in the hot tub was soothing. Proximity to downtown Santa Fe was an enormous bonus! We would highly recommend this property and look forward to our next visit!

Close proximity to everything! Very charming home. Just the two of us, but could have easily brought along three more. Very pleasant front patio for relaxing. All very clean and tidy. We loved it!

Lovely home in the Santa Fe style. Clean, nice kitchen, beautiful garden, comfortable beds. Second bedroom can get a little stuffy. Bring your own shampoo and body wash. But thise are very minor quibbles, and we would certainly stay here again

We and our pets loved the house and the grounds, but parking in the garage, and moving out of the garage, was a challenge because the driveway is shared with the house opposite the rental, and the resident of that house never pulled his car into its garage. Also, there was no swamp cooler or AC in the second bedroom; the ceiling fan was of little help when seeking cooler air.

The place was very nice, however, I was ill and did not get enjoy Santa Fe. thanks Amy

Very pleasantly surprised! Sometimes properties look better in photos than what you see upon arrival. Not the case with this one. Fabulous porch to drink coffee or wine. Landscape was beautiful and well tended. Location was good for walking into town, restaurants. Kitchen well equipped. Highly recommend.
