Carrickalinga Getaway

Lovely to be able to bring our dog, it was a lovely space for us to stay and hang out with him. Close to walk to stunning beach with white sand a clear water. Watched the sun set every night, and swam every day. Great spot for a holiday.

Good value for money.

Property was very nice, even though the bedroom was described as upstairs, the stairs were not the easiest to navigate, the tread was narrow (would be difficult for people with long feet). The riser to tread ratio was difficult for us both, the property is very dog friendly, however our dog was unable to navigate the stairs due to the tread vs riser ratio (even though she can easily navigate concrete and wooden steps at the beach and various eateries. As our dog needs to sleep in the same bedroom we had to carry her upstairs, a challenge for us, nothing compared to the difficulty in getting her down the stairs due to being unable to carry and navigate the stairs. As the toilets and bathroom were also upstairs in became difficult every time you needed to use the facilities, sometimes it was easier to go out and use toilets elsewhere due to continuing leg aches. We left one day earlier than we planned and paid for due to this issue, if the stairs were an anti-slip ramp instead it would have been easier all round.I don't understand how no-one else has had an issue with the stairs, maybe they are young and slim.Lesson to be learnt from this for us is to get a pet friendly accommodation that is only ground floor or a cabin near the beach (which was cheaper per night and allows dogs)

We have such a wonderful time at Carrickalinga Getaway! All amenities are great and the hosts, John and Irene all, are lovely and were especially welcoming to our two young children.

Host was very welcoming and the shower was amaxing and the bed comfortable.

The owners were very friendly and welcoming and it was extremely dog friendly.

Lovely home, clean, great amount of space, short walk to the beach and lovely hosts! Would definitely recommend for a beach side get away to relax!

The place was comfortable, and the location was quiet and convenient.Only thing to note — the TV is quite old, so don’t expect streaming or smart features.Otherwise, a good stay!

Very clean and accessible property. Had all we needed especially time away from the rat race. Host (John) was very accommodating and helpful with local eateries.

This was a wonderful very private oasis - despite the rain, we had a lovely time.

Peaceful 2 storey cottage with lovely entertaining area out the back including BBQ and firepit. Best of all only a 5 minute walk to the beach. Cottage itself came with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Owners John and Irene were very friendly and welcoming. Would not hesitate to stay here again. Carrickalinga before Easter we had to ourselves. Accommodation was comfortable and clean and 4 minutes to the beach. Dog friendly with an enclosed back yard and undercover BBQ area.Would recommend ForkTree Brewery as did our host.

Nice stay, would stay again

A lovely property, in a lovely location, but not really suitable for us. We are elderly and the toilet was up steep stairs. The outdoor area is lovely and ideal for dogs.

Irene & John’s property was perfect for us. Only a minute from the beach, it had ample parking and great living spaces both inside and outside. A lovely retreat for a couple. Our hosts were very welcoming & friendly & even had fresh produce from their garden for us to enjoy. Thank you!

Lovely beach accommodation for my pup and I. The owners have put in extra effort to give the house a beachy, relaxing vibe.Felt very much at home with 5 minutes easy walk to beautiful Carrickalinga beach and 2 min drive to Normanville for great cafes..

Nice little property. We booked a single night as a last-minute school holiday getaway but this would be perfect for a longer stay. Quiet, clean and tidy, plenty of space indoors and out for the three of us, and close to the beach. We'll be back!

Nice little fire pit area and all the essentials. The interior decor was really charming and perfect location less than a 10 min walk to the beach. Hosts were super helpful and friendly too!

What a great place to chill out on the beautiful Fleriou Coast

A gorgeous hideaway.

Our stay was lovely, just the backyard could have been swept and cobwebs removed. There was also an odour of something dead in the back yard. We enjoyed our stay. Please delete if too harsh as the owner were lovely. It’s just that we worry about our dogs,

Quiet and private

The house was amazing with a gorgeous almost tropical feel in the back outdoor area. We came to relax and that’s what happened. The hosts were fabulous and easy to communicate with. At the last minute we requested a late checkout which was accepted. Definitely would like to make a return trip. Thanks for a beautiful weekend.

Carrickalinga Getaway is a lovely townhouse in a quiet pretty street only 2 to 5 minutes walk from the beach. The place is beautifully clean and comfortably furnished. It is full of character with an eclectic mixture of old decorations which are impressive and some funny and these give the town house a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The upstairs bedroom is really lovely with a large window allowing lots of light with a view of the trees outside. The back yard is very private and peaceful and offers a lovely spot to sit listening to the waves on the beach with seating under the little back covered area and a stand alone pergola with a large table and wood fire and bbqs. Carrickalinga is a beautiful spot to holiday and rejuvenate with walks on the beach, walks along the local trails and other local tourist activities. This town house offers fantastic value for money compared to many other properties and is so close to the beach. The owners, John and Irene, live next door are very friendly, helpful and great communicators both before and during the stay on their property. I highly recommend Carrickalinga Getaway for a single person, couple or with small young family and people with dogs who like to holiday. I will be returning to this lovely property and destination again in the near future.

We had a great time. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and private. It was only a few short minutes walking to the beautiful Carrickalinga beach and our hosts were very accommodating! Lots to do in the area. Thoroughly recommend it!
