Carolina Sunrise, Luxury Oceanfront Beach House with Game Room, Pool, Ocean Front Porches with Great Views

We stayed in Carolina Sunrise as a group of special needs moms on a Respite retreat through A Mother's Rest. The house is a good layout for privacy with 7 rooms and private baths. Great location and beds were super comfy.  

Is this the best beach house, no, is it the best for the price absolutely. The old adage you get what you pay for holds true. That being said we already booked it for next year. Pros: LOCATION! The size of the home, 12 people were not crowded in the least. Ocean side pool. 7 bathrooms, 9 parking places. More than enough deck space, front and back. 2 stackable laundry units. The cons: very few places to unpack your clothes, we brought under the bed bags. Bring your own cleaning supplies. The beds will get you through the week but you will miss your own bed. Again we will be back next year, we can't touch the price and who spends that much time inside anyway.

I love the location but it is a very aging property.

After a very smooth process at the office to pick up our keys we arrived at the house to find the front porch filthy! Upon entering through the kitchen and filling it with our belongings we found food splattered on cabinets, a broken shelf in the fridge and dirty pots and pans that had to be rewashed before using them. Our bedrooms were also dirty, even finding mold on bathroom curtains. I immediately contacted Elliott and they responded quickly to say a cleaning crew would be out. Two very nice women came back the next day to clean. Then we had to contact Elliott again to replace a broken grill that fell apart as my brother went to use it as well as look into the water for showers that were cold, even when nobody else was running water for hours prior. The ocean was warmer than the showers! Our pool was also full of sand and when we told the company about it, their solution was to just throw chlorine tabs in it. My husband finally had to hook up the vacuum and clean the pool himself because we couldn’t have 6 kids swimming in a filthy pool that was never clean to begin with!! I do have to say Elliott tried to help alleviate each of the issues. They brought us a new grill, the sent two people to try and fix the water, and the cleaning crew was very apologetic. I just wish they would take better care of this beautiful property. Our view was spectacular and we made memories with our family that will last a lifetime. Myrtle Beach is a great place to vacation.

Staying at this property can be summed up in 1 word: disappointing. The issues we experienced were related to maintenance of the property. The location is great, access to the beach could not have been better, rocking chairs on the porch were nice, and the pool size was perfect. In regards to maintenance of the property, the majority of house appears to not have been updated in decades. --Rooms were very small, bathrooms and showers were even smaller. There were empty cans around couches, food left in the refrigerator, dishes left to be put away in the dishwasher, rusty screws laying on beds, lights/light switches/fans that did not work, a broken toilet, faucets/showers that only had very hot water, gates around the pool that were either completely broken and did not safely keep children from access to the ocean or were bent in a way that made them difficult to open. The pool and hot tub were filled with sand. Not all water faucets worked. Towels provided were very small and thin. All this before we had to make our own beds for the stay and bring our own toilet paper. When the air conditioner broke, someone was sent that evening to fix it. Other items took days to be repaired. Overall, this was not a great place to take a family. It seems better suited to college kids. We hope that the owner invests into the property to ensure safety for renters and that the house provides an experience worthy of the price tag.

Carolina Sunrise is perfectly located on the beach and close to several nice restaurants and multiple grocery stores. If you can overlook the lack of dressers and closets for your clothes, and the fairly small bath rooms, then you will have a great week at the beach. The pool is great and the hot tub a nice amenity. The rocking chairs on both levels of the house were favorite gathering spots for our family. Parking is great and the game room and bathroom on the ground level were very nice to have during the day. Elliott Beach Rentals is wonderful to work with. Their communication is second to none and much appreciated. We willl definitely rent again from Elliott BR on our next visit to Myrtle Beach. They DO really care about your vacation.

Pros: (1)great location (2) pool on the beach! Cons: (1) the photos in the add are out of date. (2) the house was not clean. (3) we had to actually make the beds (4) the pool was dirty (5) we had to check in off site (electronic locks would make that extra step not needed). (6)the dishwasher was broken and not repaired when I notified the rental company. (7) the beds need to be replaced (8) upon arrival notice several bathrooms without toilet paper. (9) not worth the price we paid This was a disappointment. With a little TLC this could be a great family destination house.

Loved the fact we had access right on the beach. Great local attractions close to property. We would definitely consider in future for other family outings.
