This home was the most perfect centerpiece to my 82-year-old mom's bucket list vacation with me and my daughter. It was perfect in every way. Making our way from the gate down to the house requires some sure-footedness, but totally worth it. Ann and her friend were there waiting for us at check in to assist us in bringing our luggage down the steps to the house. Once we settled in, it is absolutely indescribable the beauty of this location. At high tide, the water comes up the deck stairs so high that it feels like sleeping on a houseboat. And at low tide, we were visited by so much animal and marine life! A mama and baby deer lingered on our rocky beach, while droves of geese and sea gulls danced around in the shallows. Star fish and crabs were many and varied on our morning beach strolls. And a pair of seals splashed and played just offshore. We didn't have to turn on the tv once for entertainment. Ann was quick to address and answer questions. Her response was immediate. She and her husband were literally right next door and were amazing hosts. We look forward to our return trip and plan to make the Captain's House the center of all future travel to the Pacific Northwest.

The home was great-had everything we needed. My kids especially liked sleeping the cubbies. The location was beautiful and we saw a lot of wildlife in the water right off the deck. So relaxing waking up with a view of the water!

We had such a wonderful stay! The host was incredibly kind and thoughtful—everything about the experience felt welcoming and easy. The house had everything we needed and more. It was the perfect balance: close enough to access Gig Harbor, but also tucked away in a peaceful and relaxing setting. One of the highlights was being able to spot whales, seals, porpoises, and even deer right from the property—absolutely magical.Thank you so much for sharing your space with us. We can’t wait to stay here again in the future!

We celebrated my husband's birthday here and it was the perfect spot. The location overlooking the water is mesmerizing and the house is even nicer than the photos portray. It's an extremely quiet place on the beach, which is exactly what we wanted. We spent a lot of time just marveling at the view and relaxing. We love the town of Gig Harbor and hadn't been for several years. We enjoyed walking around and basking in the beauty. Annie's the perfect host. Communication was excellent prior and during our stay. She even took the time to alert us ahead of time that an extremely low tide was expected during our stay that would enable us to experience sea life that is typically always underwater so that we could adjust our schedule if we were interested in exploring. She also provided restaurant and hiking recommendations at our request. We recommend this property highly and hope to spend more time there in the future.

I very much enjoyed my stay. The location is an easy drive from the main part of Gig Harbor and the area is stunningly beautiful. The house sits directly on the water with nothing obstructing the view. I slept in the upstairs bed and it was very comfortable. I enjoyed waking up and looking out on the water and watching the wildlife… I miss that part already! The owner is wonderful and was super easy to work with before and during the trip.

House was very clean, great location on the water, very close to town for convenient driving , beds were comfortable, would suggest adding a dishwasher. Dishes were not as clean as they should be. Not very relaxing to handwash dishes. dishes.

This is the third time we have stayed here and it was just as good as we remembered. Property is well stocked with everything needed for a relaxing vacation. So close to the water that at high tide it's like you are on a boat. Lots of wild life sightings including a family of seals we saw each day. Only a short drive to downtown Gig Harbor.

Great views of the water throughout the property. Easy checkin. Great proximity to multiple locations - we visited Gig Harbor, Tacoma, Seattle and Olympia. It was unseasonably warm two days which made the upstairs too warm to hang out or sleep but the downstairs was comfortable with windows open and fans.

This is an amazing rental. The owner was incredibly helpful, showed my kids different types of sea life, gave us tips on the area and even called me when there were whales in the area. The house had a great layout and everything we needed. One of the previous reviews had mentioned a concern about no washer/dryer access but there is one. Just ask. They have a designated one for the unit. We are definitely going to stay here again. Thanks again Annie
