The host of this property cancelled our stay 3 hours AFTER we were supposed to check in. Check in was at 3 but we left late and should have gotten there around 8. We were about an hour into our drive when I realized I was never sent the code to get in. After emailing to ask for it I received a cancellation email and was told the house was double booked and we could not stay there. The host said it was a VRBO error but the VRBO team told me otherwise. I would not chance staying here.
Comfy beds and furnishings, but the unit needs work. Bathrooms are outdated with damp smells, small toilets, and not the nicest showers. The main floor has two bedrooms that share a small bathroom and there is a master bath that is nicer with its own bathroom. The kitchen was nice and well equipped. The hot tub wasn’t heating and needed repair and cleaning upon arrival, but the owners sent repair person right away and it was operational the next day. The pool is large, but was not really clean when we arrived. No TV’s in the bedrooms upstairs or in the queen downstairs. Dishwasher was not working. The main TV did not get ABC or ESPN 3, so we missed being able to watch the game both nights. But, the owners provided new ping pong paddles, chalk, and darts for the kids to use. The garage was a big hit! Not too far from grocery, maybe a 10-15 min ride. I will probably look for a more upscale place next time, especially considering the price included a ton of extra fees. In fact the fees were almost as much as the nightly rate total. Owners were a pleasure to deal with. They were super communicative and responsive. They refunded the $38 hot tub fee. Despite some complications, we still enjoyed our experience overall and are glad we stayed.
The property was great for getting away from the usual hustle and bustle! The quiet surroundings and great pool area with a mountain view was amazing!
Too much work needed on the home. Needs to come off rentals.
My family really enjoyed our stay at this property last week. The house was roomy enough for our group (5 adults and 5 children aged 1 to 6). The huge dining table allowed us all to eat together. The kids were especially excited about the toy room upstairs and the garage playroom with the air hockey table and the basketball game. We spent our afternoons playing in the pool which was a refreshing escape from the heat. The house location was perfect for exploring downtown Asheville, Chimney Rock park, and the parks and restaurants of Fletcher and Arden.
We enjoyed the stay. House and property are well maintained.
The house is in a nice neighborhood and has a beautiful yard with mountain scenery. There were some issues with the house itself. It could use some updating especially if it is advertised for a 14 member family. We had 10 and had to stagger our shower times because we constantly ran out of hot water. The bathrooms are very dimly lit, and 2 of them had no place to put toiletry bags, etc. The shower heads are also very dated. The upstairs bedrooms have no lamps or night stands. The ice maker in the refrigerator did not work; the water dispenser only worked periodically. The Keurig pot leaked water all over the counter and was unusable. There were no basic cleaning supplies to wipe kitchen counters or clean kitchen with after cooking a meal. There were also roaches. The hot tub was cloudy and had a foul smell; it did not have any chlorine in it; my husband found some chlorine to add to it. The basketball game was broken and there was only one ping pong paddle for the ping pong table. The grill had leftover food on it and was dirty. I paid a good bit of money to stay here. The house has a lot of potential, but is in need of some major upgrades.
