Calming Seaside Sanctuary, pet friendly 2-blocks from beach

The house is very nice. We found it to be comfortable and adequate for our needs. The biggest issues we had were thw cleanliness and one of the neighbors. We noticed the house on the left has boarded up windows and was in poor condition. We heard around the neighborhood that those residents will vandalize any cars parked in front of their property and they were unwell. We noticed on two separate occasions that they were eavesdropping on us through the fence and I think I saw someone get close to the fence to spy on us. When we arrived, there were things scattered all over the place and the parking passes were missing when we arrived. One of the owners had new ones delivered to us but the commication with her was not great. There are 3 BBQ grills on the property and ALL THREE WERE MOLDY. We had to clean the one with the least amount of mold to the best of our ability to use it for cooking. Bottom line is this place is not being inspected by the owners nor is it properly maintained. Additionally, I didn't recieve any information or instructions because that is supposed to show up on the Vrbo app. Since I booked through Orbitz, that trip didnt show up on Vrbo and I had to message Frederick to get the information we needed. Frederick was very nice and very commutative so that made everything easier. Unfortunately I will not be staying here again.

Excellent location near the seawall. Small difficulties with opening the front gate. Lack of soap in bathrooms.

I have stayed at a variety of properties. The host for the Seaside Sanctuary has been among the best. The check-in information was complete and detailed. I had no specific concerns regarding the property and the few questions I had were answered promptly. The host showed sincere concern for our comfort as we travelled to Galveston during the winter storm. Property was roomy and beds super comfortable. We did not travel with pets this time but love that the hosts welcome them. We will definitely stay again the next time we travel to Galveston.

The home was very comfortable for the body and the soul! The colors and furnishings were high quality and truly comfortable. The home was spacious and cozy. The dogs loved being there and enjoyed the front yard. I also loved the old times feel of the wood floors and kitchen counters.

Host was great he was prompt in response extremely helpful and kind!We found the beds uncomfortable and the back yards a bit small and overgrown but the dogs were secure which was a great help when outside with them.

The property was as expected. Communication was prompt and friendly. I would stay there again.

Great residential location - only a few (walkable) blocks to beaches, shops and restaurants. Recommend a car for better beaches (East Beach specifically) and grocery store purchases. House is a little dated but spacious and accommodated the family well. Had some trouble with gnats and water bugs throughout our stay, which was gross and unsettling, though owner was responsive to calls and management. Couldn't find the laundry room until our last day - in a different house, in basement, needed an unidentified key to get it - so would leave this information in the house for next guests. Liked Galveston overall, lovely place to visit in the spring.

We thoroughly enjoyed the house. Since I am an allergy sufferer it was awesome to have air purifier there. We would definitely stay there again.

We had a great Labor Day weekend in this home. The owner was very responsive! The rooms were spacious and we loved that there were 2 full bathrooms to accommodate all of us.

It was a blast. Perfect size. Kids had plenty of room in the living area to play. This location is awesome. We loved this house. Will totally rent it again.
