Very roomy. Great property!
Great outdoor space, close to everything in town but far enough away to feel like you're in your own world. Love having two kitchens/living rooms for a large group!
The host was easy to communicate, the home was centrally located and had everything it indicated it would. Our group had a wonderful stay and only wishes they had more time. Thanks!
Wonderful place to experience Joshua Tree with my family ranging from age 3 to age 80. We were five families and there was plenty of room for sleeping, gathering and eating. The second kitchen makes cooking for large groups much easier, though the kitchens aren’t very well appointed. House is artsy, a bit worn, but comfortable. The large garden is great for exploring and stargazing. Note that the wading pool is small and 2.5 ft deep. Hot tub was a wonderful amenity. Great place overall for our family reunion!
Overall, we were happy with the property. The positives: It is less than a 10 minute drive to the west entrance of the national park and the 2 acre property has a wide variety of cacti, many of which I had never seen before. There are great views for both sunrises and sunsets. The main kitchen, although small, was well stocked and the bathrooms had plenty of towels and soaps. The game room was a definite plus with a pool table and dart board. Adam was very responsive and handled a few minor issues quickly. The negatives: The propane tank for the grill was completely empty. The ceiling of the middle bedroom is open to the living room so noise can be a problem if people want to sleep before others have retired. The ceiling fan blades in the back bedroom looks like they have not been wiped clean for several years! There were no dressers or chest of drawers in 3 of the bedrooms and the couch in the living room desperately needs to be replaced. However, these few minor issues did not prevent us from having a very enjoyable, 7 day stay!
We could really tell this home has been cherished and loved by its owners. We loved the artistic touches and the property feels secluded yet close to the park and downtown area. We wished the upstairs kitchen stove worked (either that or we couldn't figure it out haha) as four burners is a bit limited for our number of guests. We still had a fantastic time had everything we needed to create great memories. Thank you for letting us into your home.
Stayed here with some friends to celebrate my engagement! This was the perfect property that was able to accommodate all of us easily. It was also gorgeous!!
The place worked out great for our large family gathering. We like to cook and the kitchen had adequate supplies, very good compared to many home rentals I have stayed in. The garden and surrounds are lovely with good access to Joshua Tree National Park. Groceries in the local town were easy to access and well stocked.
Everything about this home was amazing. Communication between owner & I was also great. Check in was easy. Plenty of space for a large group of people, we had 15 people and everyone had a bed to lay on. The park was literally right next to us. All amenities were great. The hot tub was a big deal for our guests.
A total of 15 of us (12 adults, 3 teenages) stayed for 2 nights. Had a great time. Very well maintained property, decently equipped. Close to park and hiking trails and reasonably close to stores and food places. Not too cheap, but more than compensated by the fun of being together with friends and family. Will not hesitate to do it all over again.
We spent our wedding weekend here with our bridal party and it was a blast!
We had the most perfect wedding in the park and stayed at this property with our families and closest friends. The property is beautiful and very spacious! We got some amazing photos! Would highly recommend! Can’t wait to visit Joshua Tree again.
We are 12 family members spending Thanksgiving together. Joshua park entrance so close as well as grocery stores. And the Jacob Park tennis courts were recently newly surfaced. Hot tub pleasantly hot enough for our sore bodies. We thoroughly enjoyed the Nancy Loop Trail up the street from the property. Also, very important is that the hosts were very responsive to our questions… a wonderful holiday.
House is great for families! Great communication from host.
We had an amazing stay here. Great communication with the host. Enough beds for our big group. The beds were too firm for us so not comfortable. But other ppl may like that. Beautiful sunsets as well. The kitchen does need a big update on pots and pans plus a good detailed cleaning. A fan would be nice in the middle room that connects the two main houses bc once you close the doors there is no AC or air flow in there. Other than that we loved our stay. We would definitely stay here again.
The property is so beautiful and the house so huge and full of art. We loved the wading pool and watching the families of quail. Hope to stay again!
This house worked very well for grandparents plus two families with kids, including an infant. As others have pointed out, the layout is a bit quirky (one room has curtains instead of a door; bathroom access for two of the bedrooms is through others' bedrooms), but it's just fine for a vacation visit. The house itself is comfortable and relaxed, and having a second attached house was an asset. We did not use the pool table or hot tub, but we did enjoy walking around the cactus garden. The neighborhood is quiet (we heard only the coyotes at night), and it's a very short drive to JTNP and the town. A few words of advice unrelated to the house: the well-reviewed Kitchen in the Desert restaurant in 29 Palms has only outdoor seating and seems to run out of menu items quickly. (I mention this because we went on an evening that turned very cold, and we were freezing.) And second, even though google maps shows the famous invisible house as being up the street from this property, it's nowhere near it! (Unless it's actually invisible.) All in all, I'd recommend this house.
