Talkeetna, Alaska
The Cabin and Tiny Home is situated a moderately tree'd 1 acre property with plenty of privacy. The 'Main Cabin' has a living room, loft, full kitchen, full bathroom, washer/dryer and dishwasher. The 'Tiny House' has a loft with a queen bed and a living room with a TV. Both the 'Main Cabin' and the 'Tiny Home' have Toyo heaters which are reliable and easy to operate. There is a nice campfire ring in the front yard for summer or winter bonfires.
The Main Cabin:
The main cabin has a cozy living room with comfortable reclining leather furniture. For family meals there is a fold-able table and chairs stored under the stair case. There is a full bathroom and washer/dryer, shampoo and soap are provided if needed. The kitchen is equipped with a full size re-refrigerator, electric range oven/stove top, and dishwasher. You will find a full compliment of pots, pans, plates, bowls, glasses, utensils etc.... The front porch is also covered and screened in so you can hangout during rainy days bug free.
There are games, movies, and lots of books provided for your entertainment and evening activities with friends. The loft in cabin is the sleeping area of the cabin and has a king and queen bed. There is also a Smart TV with a DVD/VHS player in the loft so that you can hangout relax and watch a movie.
The Tiny Home:
The 'Tiny Home' has a quaint little living room and a loft with a queen bed. There is a TV and DVD player along with some movies in the Tiny Home. There is an electric heater for heat and it has a half bath that is available for use in the summer but is not in-service in the winter due to freezing temperatures on the outdoor water line.
The Property:
The Cabin is located on a 1 acre piece of property on a culdesac road with very little road traffic making it the perfect neighborhood for walking and biking. There is also a charcoal bbq for having cookout.
The main cabin and tiny home are fully accessible. The shop is the only building not accessible.
I will be available by phone and will occasionally be in Talkeetna while hosting guests at the cabin. A full list of activities and local spots to go will be left at the cabin for guests.
This is a small quiet residential neighborhood with nice and friendly neighbors. This is a dog friendly neighborhood so expect some of the neighbors dogs comming by and saying hi. There is a lake and park within walking distance that has good fishing for trout and landlocked salmon, the lake is perfect for a canoe or kayak.
It is a 5min drive to downtown Talkeetna from the house, or a 20min bike ride. Streets are pedestrian friendly. There are parks, lakes, and trails within close proximity of the cabin.
We love the cabin! Enjoyed the quiet and relaxing adventure. Few mins drive to downtown. Host was friendly and easy to contact. Will definitely come back again!
The cabin was very nice but the tiny home was smelly and uncomfortable.
Adorable! My family & I loved our experience here - fun set up, quiet location, relaxing vibes… we would definitely come back!
very nice place, wish we could have stayed longer.
Cute, all amenities. Not for people with some physical limitations. You have to go upstairs ( very narrow in side cabin,) to all bedrooms. Fyi mattresses on floor. O No smoke or CO detectors. Porch would have been great to sit out there but most of the screens had holes in them. However they did have bug zappers and we had very few mosquitoes.??
quaint design of the cabin. It's a cabin in Alaska. If you're looking for plush, this isn't it. I was surprised at no bed frames. You sleep on mattresses on the floor under low A-frame ceilings -- you literally have to crawl in to bed. It was an adventure and fun, and definitely unique. It was clean and well furnished. A TV was upstairs, but no service. Lots of books and games. Nice fire pit. Bring firewood. Had a great time.
Great place for the dogs. Park nearby (10 mi walk) for us to play.
Very nice well-stocked cabin and relaxing location. Owner was incredibly helpful in letting us alter dates when our plans changed unexpectedly less than a month before our stay
Incorrect description. The place was very unclean. It had spider webs everywhere, sofa had pet hair and sheets were dirty, everything was very unhygienic. You have to sleep in the attic, it's very claustrophobic. The floor was sticky too. There was no hot water in the tiny home bathroom in such cold weather. Bathrooms and toilets were not in good shape. But while leaving, the expectations is to clean the place at checkout, wash laundry and used dishes. The guests are supposed to leave the place more clean than received in this case. It was like we came here to do their chores. Floor is sticky, kitchen has unfinished spots, where nails are not properly fit in and can be hazardous. Only 4 towels given for 6 people stay. So untidy, worst worst nightmare. Would recommend vrbo to remove this stay from the listing.
Property is as advertised. I'm sure there are nicer properties in the area and they probably cost more. For us, it was a good balance between price and quality of property to leave a few bucks to get a couple nice meals in town. Stayed here for a few nights before a cruise. Close enough to town. No surprises. Washer and dryer are nice to have to cut down on packing for a longer trip.
Was fine for us quite location close to fishing spots.
We loved our stay! Everything was perfect . Our host was very prompt with replying back to our text w any questions we had. Not far from talkeetna town & not far from Montana creek . We enjoyed our stay very much & would highly recommend. Our main cabin has a whole kitchen which is great! Since I’m a chef it made our stay even more pleasant. More then enough space & room for our family of 6 & our puppy . We would absolutely book again for our next weekend get away . Thank you so much Alic we appreciate you very much!
We may make this an Easter tradition, this cabin was beyond perfect for our family. We needed this getaway and couldn’t be happier with our experience. Our kids loved the swing out front and the upstairs loft area with all the toys and books, and our dog loved the woods to play in. The legos were a huge hit as well! The amenities were just what you need, the space is big, yet super cozy and the wood stove was icing on the cake. I can’t say enough good things about the cabin and tiny house and we can’t wait to come back this summer and experience it then. Thank you!!
Myself, partner (female) and baby came up for a weekend away. We tried to unlock the home with the key from the lockbox however the key would not turn at all. The host was completely apathetic to the situation and simply stated that he hadn't had this happen before. When we sent him a video of the door not opening, his immediate response was to just state I'll refund you with absolutely ZERO interest in providing assistance. I stated that we had selected the house specifically due to its suitability for children and that finding another to stay last minute would significantly complicate the weekend. Because the host stated that the cleaning lady had just been there, I suggested that he call her to see if she would try her hand at letting us in. He stated that she was home with her children. I mentioned that I had driven to Talkeetna and was with my child and would greatly appreciate any action taken. He stated that at that point he would need to hire a locksmith which wouldn't be able to do that anytime soon as he was out of town, which he stated dismissively via text though we had been speaking prior. I formerly owned a vacation rental and something like this happened once, and I had to call an emergency locksmith. That's what you do to get your customer what they've paid for. This person does not understand the customer service aspect and should not own a VRBO. I also feel that if we had been male we would have been treated differently.
Not many places allow pets and this one was perfect for us. It was nice and clean but not so nice, new and pristine I was afraid my dogs would make messes. It's a cute, rustic Alaskan cabin with hard surface floors, perfect for wiping up tracks brought in by paws. There was a snow issue that was resolved very quickly. We got over a foot within our first day there and we needed to get the drive way plowed, asap since we got stuck moving our trailer around. Once I was in contact with Alic, we were plowed out in less than 30 minutes. Thank you so much for taking good care of us!
We had a lovely stay at the cabin! We were supposed to have friends join but local weather and other logistics got in the way. Ended up being just fine because we had a great time on our own! Lots of room for the pups to run, very quiet, and great space to just relax. Super easy to get downtown and to trails. Highly recommended!!
All was pretty well until we took a breath getting out of car, then realized there was an open septic around the back with the incoming water line draped across it.
Your place was comfortable for our one night stopover from Denali to Anchorage. Easy access to old part of town. Thanks!
We stayed one night on our way to Denali. Cabin and tiny home were adequate for our stay. Location excellent. Laundry supplies excellent. Mattresses comfortable. However- it’s a mess. Needs a good overall cleaning- too much stuff everywhere, areas with thick dust and dirt, especially in the tiny house. all outside cushions smoke burned. It served our purpose fine, but glad it was only a one night stay. This place could easily be a 5 if it had a good overall cleaning.
Our group consisted of the family dog and vacationers ranging from age 4 to 65. ALL of us had an awesome experience at this rustic home in a wooded setting. The nearby lake offered fishing fun for evening and morning outings. The teenager in our group loved being able to get away by herself in the tiny house. The main cabin is well stocked and set up for your enjoyment while you are there. We are already talking about returning again this summer. You won't be disappointed if you stay here!!
