Cozy cottage feeling. Comfortable. Work inside should be reviewed & corrected. Door locks are really bad. Always a struggle. But nice walk to town & relaxing atmosphere in the cottage. Didn’t spend time in the yard.

The location is great! It's a short walk, just two blocks to the water and all the businesses you need-- boat rental, shopping, restaurants, parks. The separate bungalow was great for us, because we put our 3 boys in the bungalow and two adult couples in the cottage.

What an adorable cottage in an amazing location. For the price point I had wished it was better appointed overall. No toiletries were available. There is a coffee maker but we were told filters weren’t available (we got lucky and someone left extras). There was no access to streaming services. We would love to return in the future during the warmer months!

The cottage is adorable and exceptionally clean, with all the comforts of home. Plenty of pillows, blankets, quilts and towels, and the kitchen was easy to cook a pot of chili and bake sourdough bread for our evening at home. The other meals we walked a couple of blocks to Ida Red’s for lunch and The Butler for dinner, window-shopping along the way. Took a 10-minute ride to the Oval for a short beach jaunt. The yard is fully fenced-in to keep my senior beagle mix dog safe. We had a perfect long weekend in February- fewer people, no wait anywhere, and plenty of parking when we needed it. Some favorite establishments are closed for the season - no surprise there!

Get a new shower that is pretty diffucult to get into and the one glass panel was loose I ended up using the walk-in shower in the cottage which was wonderful also it would be nice to clean up the driveway from all those apples that are laying around you could turn your ankle if you parked on there at night I am pleased that all the locks are now electronic that was really great and easy even that back cottage door which was a trip you should update the instructions on opening that cottage door cuz you still have the old instructions the only other thing is the sprinkler system coming on in the middle of the night it's kind of noisy but it's always been like that we have stayed here many times and will continue to but these improvements that have been made are good and I'd like to see a couple other ones that I mentioned thank youConvenient location

Excellent experience and great location to downtown. The house was clean and had a very nice and charming vibe. Kitchen is well appointed.Small issues: There was no hand soap at the sinks and only one tablet for the dishwasher. No toiletries are offered. The fireplace heater was not working in the bungalow. It may have been batteries in the remote. Would stay again.

Lovely cottage with an additional sleeping area in another bldg directly in back. Lots of sleeping space. Also, a large outdoor table with lots of seating. Perfect to spend time outdoors. Both tub and shower were quite slippery, no grab bars. Maybe not perfect for seniors.

We had a great vacation at butterfly cottage. It is decorated so cute and was very comfortable. The location is excellent. The drive to Oval Beach was short. There is a lot to see and do in Saugatuck. We went on the paddle boat, went to the beach most every day, and dined at many good restaurants. We were able to walk to town every night, which we enjoyed. I would say there are two major things that need improvement. The floors of the cottage weren’t very clean, (there was a big hairball behind the door in one of the bedrooms) and the floorboards need a good cleaning too.Landscaping: the yard was mowed, however, around the house and in the backyard, the shrubbery was overgrown and the planting areas were very weedy. In the backyard there is a nice table we sat at each evening. It is such a lovely area, but not kept up at all.

We had a wonderful family week at the Butterfly Cottage! It was perfect for me, my husband, our 10 week old daughter, my parents, and our pup. My parents stayed in the bungalow, allowing everyone to have their own space. Our dog loved the fenced in yard. We had everything we needed in the house, which is cozy and quiet. Saugatuck is beautiful and laid back, and we were able to walk everywhere - breakfast, coffee, dinner, the waterfront. The only time we needed our car was to go to the grocery. Such a relaxing vacation, we will be back!!

The property was clean and had all of the essentials.Theer was a problem with internet & tv which was beyond control of the host. However, she went above and beyond to try to solve the issue.Only recommendation is for a handrail on the basement stairs.

This was my second time staying at the Butterfly Cottage, and it’s such a special place. It is perfect for a girls trip - we had the best time hanging out at the house, and it’s also a very short walk right into town for coffee, shopping, and dining! I highly recommend the Butterfly Cottage and can’t wait to come back!

This place was very nice - convenient to downtown - it is an older property, hard wood floors, so plan on hearing everyone early in the morning. The location was very quiet and convenient and easy to get around the town. The small casita does have a few issues - needs to be fumigated for ants, and other little bugs, and the toilet runs non - stop - but other than that the place is very relaxing

Charming decor, great location. In need of general up keep and a new housekeeper/ property manager. Carpenter ants and stink bug problem. Only one roll of toilet paper, disposal did not work, no dishwater tablets, TV remote broken, needs a deep clean.

Overall the property was fine with a few caveats. For safety sake, a railing on the stairs to the basement would be advisable along with a grab bar in the shower in the main house. The house was adequately equipped. It was very clean, except for the ceiling fans which didn't seem to have been cleaned in a long time which is bad for anyone with allergies. We cleaned the one in the living room.

We absolutely loved the set up & cleanliness of Butterfly cottage & the bungalow. The decor is adorable & the furniture & beds were all comfy. Walking to town is a cinch & pleasant. Katherine, the manager/owner responded quickly to any inquiries. One toilet out of 2 for a fairly large group was non-working, as was the case w the overhead lights (both in the bungalow). At the end of our 2nd day (out of 3 nights), the toilet was repaired (plumber needed to make 2 trips) The lights were irreparable during our stay because the wall Switch for them needed to be replaced ( there was one dim lamp in a large room that slept 4). The filtered water by the main house kitchen sink ran at a trickle & leaked onto the counter. Plumber didn’t address that at all. There was a shortage of basic supplies towels, face cloths & TP. These were not killer problems - as we loved the place & its location. But these were all things that any diligent management wouid have checked over before our flights & arrivals for a family wedding. They were not “new” problems. The whole downtown area has the dilemma of no convenience store/grocers. It was literally impossible to find even milk for coffee! Kinda strange not being able to pick up a few basics for the house. We didn’t have a car. FYI - although town was very busy with visitors in early September, the little ferry that runs over to Douglas (& the grocery store) closes on Labor Day! The town “opens” late mornings. Lovely area.

Well located, snug but adequate, casita stuffy maybe mold, some mold smelled in main house and some nasal drainage (should chk), stairs to basement need rails (could be dangerous), towels were clean but old, overgrowth of landscape. Would have liked more channels on Comcast. Some minor repair in one bathroom. Overall enjoyed the stay. Above trying to be helpful.
