Although the weather was not good for driving we were quite content to stay at the house and enjoy the view. The kitchen had everthing we needed to cook at home and a nice large table for food, games and stories. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. Thank you!
Property was just as expected and would definitely recommend to others.
We had 9 family members. The king bed was comfortable. The rest of the beds were very uncomfortable!! Bedroom fans need much maintenence. A light in living Area would be nice. Kitchen was well equipped fixed big meals and had all we needed. Loved the deck and view. Railing was a lot scarey. We were happy with house except would not do those beds again.
Beautiful setting!
We had a wonderful time! The home provides a panoramic mountain view that is breath-taking. The Host provided more than anyone could ask for. Aside from the usual amenities, the Host provided TVs in every room, ping pong table, toys for young ones and even board games! I will not hesitate to recommend this hideaway to my friends!
This is a beautiful and peaceful rental with a spectacular view that accommodated our family comfortably. It had everything we needed for a pleasant visit with our niece. Did I mention the view? The sunrise was beautiful. We spent much of our time on the deck taking it all in. The town of Burnsville is adorable with great shops and nice restaurants. We can’t wait to go back for another visit. Highly recommend this rental.
Really enjoyed the experience. It was the perfect get away and just the right amount of remoteness to enjoy the mountains. I look forward to staying again in the future.
We had such a wonderful time here. The house is beautiful! There was plenty of room for people to retreat to their own space at the end of the days. The sunrise is in full view on the upstairs deck. We actually packed more things than we needed because the kitchen has all of the small appliances you might think to bring. We definitely plan to stay again if we head back to NC. We did arrive during a bad wind storm but the power had only shut off for about 15 minutes the whole time we were there. If we wanted to take more family next time, the house next door is also part of this owner’s property rentals so it’s possible to rent both houses if you had multiple families. We discussed this possibility for a future trip.
Amazing views!!! Plenty of room for family.
This was the second time we've stayed at this house, and we would come again. It's well equipped, with plenty of space and a wonderful view from both the main level and the upstairs bedroom.
Although the drive to the property was winding and the parking was somewhat limited, that was the only part of this stay that was anything but excellent! The views are absolutely amazing! A full 180° of spectacular mountains to wake up and drink coffee to every morning! And the sunsets…let’s just say nothing short of amazing! I recommend this property to anyone seeking a getaway from it all! Put the cell phones and the tablets away and enjoy Mother Nature and all that the good Lord above gave us…this place has it all!
Burnsville Hideaway was wonderful. Our crew consisted of my wife and I, our 40 year old son, my sister and her husband. My brother in law is already contemplating returning with his 3 sons, their wives and grandchildren. Fate intervened with Hurricane Ian transiting the Old North State during our stay. Still, we were fortunate that we experienced only some rain and cloudy skies compared to the 3 or 4 inches of rain and high winds and power outages back home. The biggest setback was that Mt Mitchell was closed on Saturday and Sunday and socked in with clouds on Monday when we finally got up there. Things to do and see. Linville Falls and Caverns. The Orchard at Altapass. Museum of NC Minerals. Little Switzerland. I enjoyed driving the Devils' Whip (NC 80) and the Diamondback (US 221-A). All of these are on or adjacent to The Blue Ridge Parkway. Do yourself a favor, slow down and stop at the overlooks and relax. The views are breathtaking. Back in Burnsville, we recommend both the Pig & Grits and Bubba's Good Eats. Don't let the names fool you. These are nice restaurants with lots of menu options and really tasty food. We didn't get to check out the downtown shops. I suspect that was our loss. We also didn't get to go horseback riding. There are a couple of options there. We DID go zip-lining at Navitat Canopy Adventures. Loved it. Do it! Having said all of that, a person could just sit on the deck and gaze at the mountains all day and be happy. You can actually sit INSIDE due to the 2 story floor to ceiling windows/doors. The view is great and unbroken by trees. Okay, my wife said to bring some ice trays or buy some bags of ice on the way up. 4 wheel or all wheel drive is a good idea on the long drive up to the house. Enjoy.
From the owner and Karen the housekeeper provided a wonderful welcome mat.
Very clean and comfortable house in a beautiful location. Enjoyed watching sunsets and sunrises!!
Quiet, comfortable, economical vacation stay. View is brilliant. Dated decor, but very well maintained and clean. Only minor concern was older thin metal railing on stairs and around porch that was alittle shaky in places. Would highly consider re-booking in the future. Very nice place.
This was a great rental. The cleanest we’ve ever stayed in by far. It was a bit of a drive to get to some of the trails but there were several close by that had beautiful waterfalls.
Large home with multiple levels and a great deck
The last house on the gravel road. LOL
The house was amazing. Great location and plenty of room for everyone to not feel squished. Easy to get to any hiking and downtown Asheville.
We woke one morning to a porch full of snow and a beautiful view of a snow covered valley. Awesome view, lots of space, fun ping pong table, outdoor firepit, and a feeling of privacy on a mountain. Thanks for the great stay!
