Stayed Mar 16, 2026We rented the house for two weeks. The house was in good order when we arrived. Het Lageveld is absolutely beautiful with a children’s playground and a beach activity area directly across the road. It was a great value but a few little things weren’t quite what we expected. The house was extremely cold when we arrived at 4pm and the heat was still cold by bedtime. Once the house heated up it was fine. Things we did not expect to have to buy were cleaning supplies, dishwasher tablets and garbage bags. No cupboards or closets to hang coats and put away shoes, and nowhere to store food. The house really could use a new coat of paint inside and some fresh art and cushions. It would have been very helpful to have instructions available for the washer and dryer and the oven. We felt very safe while there and the community was friendly. The only thing I was truly unhappy with was that the safety deposit could not be refunded to my credit card.
