This place was exactly as advertised. We needed it only for a place to put our head down while visiting the town. This provided just that! Thanks.
Large place with tons of creekside seating. lots of space and even an extra detached room with a heater! Fire pit was nice to use as well (check for fire bans). This was a great place to stay for our friends wedding weekend.
We had three couples stay here in early August. The location was convenient to town & the river, though a bit too far to walk in the summer heat. We liked the grassy area by the stream and the outdoor table. The bathrooms were clean & well stocked. The house was spacious, including a 'game room' with a sofa and a large kitchen table. This is an old house that has ceiling fans, but no AC. Unfortunately, the upstairs bedrooms, hot after sunny days, did not have screens that fit properly, so when trying to cool down the upstairs after sunset, moths were coming in. The carpeting and appliances are older. They worked okay but be advised this is NOT a newly updated property. While the outdoor table was under a roof, the roof line ended at about 5 feet tall, so several of us banged our heads getting up from our chairs, where some small hooks protruded (be careful). Lastly, the outdoor table looks out to a 'storage yard' where there were two old hot tubs, several tables, some chairs, etc. It appears the owners use this property to store a lot of junk, outside. Once you walk past this, down to the stream, the situation greatly improves. There were several chairs & chaises by the stream, and the area had been mowed nicely, making it a place several of us went to sit & read.
Owner very helpful & responsive to issues that we had. Kitchen was not very clean, property lacking adequate supplies for number of guests that can stay there( TP, paper towels, dish soaps, cleaning products to help clean after ourselves, propane for outdoor grill). Hot tub was awesome! Good proprty location by creek & town & walking trails. House & property need a bit of updating of appliances, locks, screens on windows that were missing, but overall we had a good stay. Cool game room for kids was a nice surprise. We were told that the separate bedroom out back of house was not supposed to be used, contrary to listing on vrbo, so maybe the listing needs to be updated on vrbo website....
Clean the porches, first impressions count. Our family of 3 generations enjoyed the games that were available. We did white water rafting with Kodi Rafting and horse back riding with Mt Princeton Riding Stables both were excellent Went fishing at Cottonwood Lake and to Cottonwood Hot Springs. Screens need to be on all windows so they can be open and box fans for each bedroom. It was warm (hot) upstairs. The cleaning staff left the mop bucket out and a bag of trash in the entrance, not the welcome you expect. The plug outlet in the kitchen by the coffee pot closer to the stove does not work. The creekside location could be cleaned up and made usable. With these fixes it would be a great place to stay.
Owners and maintenance were super responsive . The highlight of the space was stargazing from the hottub! However, two out of four toilets did not work upon our arrival and one of the showers did not work well enough to use. While unfortunate, the septic was frozen for many people in the town of Buena Vista so it was understandable and we were glad to have 2 working bathrooms still. The space is perfect for a larger group, we went for a long weekend trip. It was close enough to walk to town for a drink and shopping and a great location to take a day trip to Leadville for some XC skiing. We had a great time.
Groom and groomsmen stayed just steps away from the wedding venue at South Main. Accommodations were perfect for our needs
This Home was perfect for our girls weekend in Buena Vista. Close to the town and just a quick 15 minute drive to the Hot Springs. We were able to see tons of Deer in the backyard and truly relax. On top of that the Host was super friendly through all communication.
Had a lovely time staying at this wonderful home just outside of the main strip in BV. The location was perfect, home was in great condition, and having the river right there to relax next to was fantastic! Can't recommend this property enough!
Overwhelming pinesol smell For the first few hours we were there. Maybe a natural cleaner with out the smell could be suggested. Lots of space and plenty of bedrooms for all of us. Close to hiking trails and South Main, grocery store and anything else you could need.
Best part of the stay was sitting by the stream
Close to main street and restaurants. The backyard and creek were absolutely lovely. Will stay here again.
Theis property is amazing, so much wildlife right there. The view of Mt Princeton is majestic and the stream is so relaxing. Plenty of space for our family vacation. The owner was also so responsive and accomodating. Location was really great too, only about 10 minute walk to main street shops and restaurants. We would definitely go back.
The property was full of wonderful wildlife...chipmunks, deer (& baby), hummingbirds. The view from back porch of Mt Princeton is just majestic and the stream too. LOTs of space on this property. Location is perfect for going down to Main street for dinners and getting to anywhere for adventures.
We had everything we needed. Everything was ckean and comfy. Place could use some updating. Enjoyed the hot tub every evening. No air conditioner but the place stayed surprisingly cool without it. great location. loved the stream outback. relaxing. Loved the deer walking through the yard. The hummingbirds. Would stay again
