Brookside: A Beautiful Chalet-Style Getaway on the Shore of Seneca Lake!

We had an AMAZING time at the Brookside for a girls’ weekend! We had 6 women in the house and had more than enough space! As a matter of fact, we all discussed coming back WITH the kids (aged 9-18)!! They would have had a blast! Between the hot tub, the fire pit, kayaks, paddle boat, pool table, we always had something to look forward to do! The property is very easily found by following the GPS. The driveway is STEEP. Like STEEP STEEP. Definitely have at bare minimum an AWD vehicle with decent ground clearance. This house is one of the cleanest homes I’ve stayed in! Bathrooms and kitchen were sparkling. The hot tub was very clean and well maintained. Plenty of couch space in the living room area and kitchen. Kitchen nicely equipped with everything you could need. Just an FYI, there is a drip coffee maker, not a keurig. There is also a water cooler (with lots of spare water jugs in laundry room) so there is no need to buy/bottled water. Bring your reusable jugs. All lights/ remotes/ appliances were in great working condition. The basement area has a great speaker/sound system and is where we hung out the most. There’s a mini fridge and a bar with plenty of seating down there. The four recliners around the electric fireplace at night was the perfect ending to a long day. There is plenty of seating on the upper deck to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening cocktail. Plenty of seats at the outdoor bar/grill/patio table/picnic table to eat and enjoy the breathtaking views!

House was clean and came with beautiful views. A lot of space and sleeping accommodations. One con would be the drive way and how it is only mentioned in the welcome packet how steep it truly was. You would need to plan accordingly with a car with all wheel drive. Other than that, it was a great stay.

We came mid April for a bachelorette. This house was gorgeous. The views are incredible and Seneca Lake water was so clear. We were pleased that the outdoor amenities were already available as the listing agent was unsure if they would be. House was big and clean. We did a limo wine tour. Limo could not make it down this driveway- we had to walk up half way which was fine…. Would absolutely stay here again.

Brookside is a beautiful lakefront home. It very comfortably housed our extended family of 10. Check in was easy but the lockbox is not even on a door. The owner’s brother is the caretaker and he came over to show me a key under a mat, but the house wasn’t locked anyway. The photos were a bit deceiving as it looks like your gonna be on an island by yourself, when the neighbors are right next door on both sides. The refrigerator leaks water inside and there is a cup and a picture to catch the water. I would recommend the owners to leave a note on the refrigerator or get a new appliance. Signage would be great in every bathroom that the water is non- potable. While we were there the alarm to the septic system went off. I called the management of the property and people came to empty the septic tank. This really should have been taken care of before people are staying at the property. Overall a lovely home with great access to the lake. Just a few things here I would recommend tweaking.

The house was perfect for our family. We spent lots of time just enjoying the view and the lake. The two decks were great especially if it rains you have cover. The house is close enough for trips to wineries and the state park the only complaint I had was the outdoor furniture and hot tub was not very clean

We absolutely loved this house. The whole experience was amazing and the views are incredible. Well stocked, clean and we had every cooking utensils we needed. There was an issue with the air conditioning but the issue was quickly resolved which were thankful for! We would love to return in the future!

Had a wonderful time. Brookside is the perfect lake cabin! Clean, comfortable, cozy and sits right on beautiful lake seneca!
