What I liked was quite and nice wooded setting close to town. Lots of rooms. Nice neighborhood. Problem two doors did not lock. Had to put a chair up against the door in master bedroom. And garage door did not lock. Towels are in poor condition. Hot tub was not in working condition and that is why we booked it. So that was a bummer. Floor had stains and was not vacuumed and chairs had food nuggets on them.

We loved the location, cleanliness, and size/layout of the house for our group of 6. The large bed in the primary bedroom was very comfortable, and the hot tub was also fun. However, the house has some downsides future guests should be aware of - the sliding glass door off the living room does not open and close properly, the queen bed squeaks, and there is a smell of mold/mildew (?) in the kitchen.

It's a beautiful destination. The house was nestled in the trees and very peaceful. There were a few problems with the property itself. The stove didn't work, the patio door had no rollers and was extremely difficult to open, the dryer offered a whiff of warm air, so it took 5 hours to dry a load of laundry, the master bathroom shower was a mystery to operate, but Meredith Management sorted that out and they fixed the oven. The sink tap in the master bathroom was very stiff and you had to stand on two feet and pull mightily to get it to turn on. The wood behind the sink in the kitchen was rotted. The carpet was stained. The bed in the second bedroom creaked loudly every time you turned over. The place definitely needs some attention as it is a little dilapidated. A lot was forgiven by the team at Meredith as they did try a fix some of the problems. We were there for 10 days. The oven was fixed and they tried to fix the patio door. They advised they were not able to fix the other concerns during our stay. If those few things could be fixed it would be a perfect place to stay.

When we arrived house was filled with bugs . Little black knots . Rubbish can was full on our arrival.first night at 10:30 three of us went into the spa. Neighbor yelled at us to turn off spa too noisy. Next day reprimanded twice by city for violating rules of noise and warned if happen again that we will receive a fine

This house is not clean, safe, or livable. We walked in and were immediately met with a gross smell. The carpet was filthy. We walked into the bedrooms and all of the sheets and pillows smelled like mold. The headboard of the master bedroom smelled like mold. We had to borrow sheets and pillow cases from other family members so our children could actually sleep because the smell was so bad and strong that they couldn't relax in their beds. My wife and I had to sleep with our heads at the foot of the bed and towels over the pillows just to make it tolerable enough to get some sleep. We started a load of laundry and put it through 3 dry cycles and it still wasn't dry. Above the shower was moldy exposed sheetrock. There was a locked closet in the entry hallway with a broken, loose handle hanging off the door. The owners of this home clearly have not invested any time or money in creating a livable space. We found ONE other home available in Manzanita for the remainder of our stay and booked it that night. We left at 7am the next morning. This home would have been perfect for our family of 6, but we had to settle for a tiny 2 bed/1 bath, 700 sq ft home farther from the rest of our family for the remainder of our trip just so we could have a clean, healthy place to stay. We went to Meredith Lodging, who manages the property, the next day on 8/7 to let them know and ask for a full refund. As of 8/10 it still has not been resolved. I do not recommend this property.

Family of 5 enjoyed 3 nights at the Juniper House. We had what we needed- clean bedrooms, space for the 3 kids, hot tub, movies, breakfast table. The location was great- close to surf spots & also walks on the beach. I was a bit concerned when I walked into the home initially because it smelled funny- like cat litter- but for better or worse, I got used to the smell and didn’t think about it again. We only had breakfast in the house which was a good thing because there really is the bare minimum in terms of what is available in the kitchen. Again, worked great for us but helpful for guests to know so they are prepared. No baggies, aluminum foil, extra trash bags etc- no easy way to store leftovers. Check in & check out was easy & we had no need for any assistance. Quiet neighborhood & easy walk to coffee & restaurants. Thank you!

This property needs some updating. The carpet, which covers most of the house, is in terrible shape. It looks very dirty. The walls need painting. We checked in and realized the stopper in the bathroom sink was broken. Could not open or close it and it was stuck closed. Could not use that sink at all. I contacted rental company and it was finally addressed on our 4th day there. Also, no plug for the one bathtub and we had a toddler with us. I would not recommend this property. We had fun because we love the beach and Manzanita but would not stay here again. Not worth the money you have to pay to stay on the Oregon coast in the summer.

Worst VRBO experience ever. Upon arriving we found doorknobs hanging, closet door broken and leaning into bedroom, slats from vertical blind laying on floor. Sticky kitchen floor. Mold in dishwasher on racks. Mold in showers. Chair in frontroom legs so loose no one could sit in it for fear of it breaking. I reported things soon as arriving which we were told they werent sure when someone could come but they could send someone. I said no as I did not want someone there if we werent. Also there wasnt even a cookie sheet or foil to use so kitchen not stocked well. Thing that really made me mad was two days before going (we were already on road) received word wash machine was broken. I was very concerned as with six people in one vehicle we had to pack light. We were told when i asked if there was at least a laundromat and was told yes there are two in the area. Well there were not I could not find one and contacted the rental company which was located right in Manzanita and said i could not find one. They said oh were sorry the closest is in Seaside Oregon! Thats about thirty miles away! I did find one a little closer in Cannon beach at a RV resort. My daughter in law and I lost 4 hours plus having to leave and do laundry PLUS had to wash our towels as they only gave us 6 for 6 people with no wash machine. If we use VRBO again we will make sure meredith lodging is not who its through. Even with all the problems they never once even offered any kind of compensation.

The house was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Our main issue was that the WiFi cut in and out the entire time and it was very frustrating. I’m guessing this is because the house is literally in the woods but it was still disappointing. Had an issue with the CO2 alarm going off however it ended up just needing a new battery. The property management company was very responsive which I appreciated.
