Brief Respite | Lakefront, Dock Slip, Hot Tub

AVOID TAYLOR MADE PROPERTIES AT ALL COSTS. Our lakefront getaway turned into a health hazard and a customer service nightmare.The Safety Hazard: We woke up in a 55-degree house that reeked of gas. We didn't just lose a day of our trip; we were subjected to dangerous gas levels that left members of our group with physical headaches and respiratory distress.Negligent Management: I called the emergency line at 8:30 AM and was told—with zero urgency—that they wouldn't even look into it until the main office opened at 9:00 AM. Apparently, a potential explosion isn't an emergency for Taylor Made.The Solution: We spent the entire day on the phone, eventually being told to stand outside in the freezing winter cold because the house was too toxic to inhabit.The Downgrade: At 2:30 PM, they finally moved us to a smaller, non-lakefront property. We lost an entire day of our vacation, lost the amenities we paid for, and suffered physical illness due to their poorly maintained property.Despite this documented safety failure, management refuses to issue a refund. They are happy to take your money while putting your life at risk. Save your money and your health—book with anyone else.

Overall home was not bad however the master lower bedroom had a horrible mold/ septic tank smell that was unforgettable.

Great house at a fantastic location with a beautiful view. Just the brief respite we needed for a high school girls reunion. Very clean with seamless checking in and check out. Great access to the state park and local hiking as well as some close restaurants and activities. Very well stocked, especially in the kitchen. Tho be aware that there is no firewood or hot tub towels. Was a “beary” good stay.

Beautiful house, very spacious, enough seating for 10 adults. Property is on a slight hill so there is steps and an up hill walk when you are out back at the fire pit and to and from the dock. But it was easily walkable. Got to see a lot of deer.

The house was beautiful, clean and spacious! Great setting. The kitchen was well equipped. Excellent customer service and communication. We would definitely consider renting this place again if we come back to Deep Creek Lake.

The home and location are nice. Wasn’t as clean as I would have hoped. Management company wasn’t very responsive. They had a sign that said call for wood to use in fire pit and when you call the number they said “we don’t supply fire wood”. My daughter left her smart watch with all her photos of last several years on the counter on the way out. Texted and emailed several times to management with no response. Had to call just for them to say we’ll ask the cleaning people, then never any follow up. I’ll avoid the commercial management companies in the area going forward.

Great place for a get away, but we did need to call the Hot Tub tech. Also, the cabin was lacking a useable whisk, oven mitt, and sharp knives for cooking. Overall, I highly recommend this cabin and would definitely stay here again!

We planned a large family / friend bday celebration. House was ideal ! Plenty of room , great kitchen and sitting areas. We had a blast

Our family vacation was a blast at Deep Creek Lake. There is so much to do being on the lake! Brief Respite was perfect for all ages. The house is well stocked and very functional. The views were amazing. I highly recommend this vacation spot and this house for a multigenerational family vacation.
