Breezy Point 39: Waterfront windsurfers' retreat w/private dock

Did not disappoint. The views, the breeze, and the location were perfect. Would stay again!

We had a wonderful time at Breezy Point! The first floor furniture needs an upgrade and the beds. However one of the best houses I’ve ever stayed at and I’ve been coming down to OBX for over 30 years! Loved it!

The location of this house is fabulous. The western orientation gave spectacular sunsets almost every night. The deck wraps around three sides of the house, and has a shaded table with benches. Living up to its name, the breezes are pretty near constant, and draw numbers of wind surfers, and parasailors to the area, giving interesting activity to watch on the water. The seagulls and brown pelicans put in regular appearances, wheeling and diving for fish. This modest house was clean, simply and comfortably furnished, kitchen well-equipped, and made for a most enjoyable family stay.

This is our second year staying in Avon on the sound....would recommend this to anyone who wants to fish,kayak,windsurf,fish,kitesurf,fish,jetski and oh yeah fish in the sound. Sunsets are AWESOME. The house has a nice deck to relax on, outdoor furniture is excellent. Inside the house has obviously been renovated in the last few years and is nice. Beds are meh but it is a beach house so expected. One con is the downstairs furniture is stupid uncomfortable but the upstairs is nice. Ramps are within easy access so you can hit them with truck quickly. There is a dock and we were able to put our bay boat in and head out into the sound. 30 minutes from Ocracoke ferry. 15 minutes to Hatteras lighthouse.

Just had an incredible week staying at Breezy point. There is not a better home to stay at to have such incredible panoramic views of the water and sunsets! We had perfect weather and enjoyed the quality deck furniture every day. The home has everything you need to enjoy a great visit to the OBX!

We loved the house, location, well-kept, nicely updated and amenities. The only downside were the mattresses, which a few felt like sleeping on the springs. A larger TV in the living room would be nice but not critical like new mattresses. We would definitely stay here again but really hope new mattresses.

Breezy Point is a lovely place on the sound in Avon! Best points: The upstairs den works great if you have older kids or adults. The kitchen is well stocked. The view is fabulous, and it is so easy to enjoy watersports right from the yard. Low points: The wifi is not the greatest and does not work on the deck. We have rented this house two years in a row, and the air has gone out both times. Take bug spray because there are a lot of biting bugs in the yard in the evenings.

Very spacious house. Has a great layout. Lots of windows and decks that have a spectacular view of the water. House is in a good location, easy travel into town.

PROS This was our 3rd year at Breezy. We love living on the Sound Side. The house is perfect for water lovers: new dock, instant water access, huge yard for kayaks, kite boards etc. Gathering on the huge porch for Sunset and Cocktails is a beloved daily ritual. With 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths Breezy’s layout works great for our group women friends. CONS The downside of Breezy is the furnishings. The furniture (inside and outside) is dated, very uncomfortable and unfortunately by midweek extremely hard on butts and backs. There simply isn’t a comfortable spot to sit and read. Additionally, there is no shade after the sun shifts to the west. Lastly sitting outside can get very “buggy” because there is no screened-in porch space. We will certainly go back to Avon. But, we might not stay at Breezy again - unless the owners upgrade the furniture and furnishings to match the incredible location and views.

Overall great views and beautiful sunsets. It's an amazing spot for wind/kit surfing. Only giving this place 4 stars because the beds are very uncomfortable. The whole family got very little sleep the entire trip because the beds are so bad. Other than that it was a nice house.
