Breathtaking views amid a “PEACE” of heaven!

Great spot. Very cozy and the view was amazing.

The cabin was lovely and the view was as advertised. The hosts left a binder of recommended restaurants and things to do which was not only thoughtful and helpful, but included restaurants we never would have tried, but were indeed wonderful! They also provided very helpful pet supplies for those that do bring their pets. Based on photos, we aniticapted a more secluded stay in this cabin. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The road winds close to the small fenced front yard and down the side of the house. We were there in early April and no foliage so we were exposed to road noise when in the living room and outside the house. The back deck and fire pit area are both exposed to the road.This was a wonderful property, but if you're looking for complete wooded seclusion, I'd look elsewhere.

What an absolute WONDERFUL stay! This was actually our second trip to this little Peace of Heaven; the first trip being in March 2025 and now this one in March 2026. This trip was just as perfect as the first one! This little house is just precious and cozy and such a relaxing place to stay. The house is so clean and stocked with so many useful things that you might need during your visit. The hosts, Pete and Darlene, really think of everything! And the view........ WOW!!! Amazing does not even describe it! I would recommend staying here in a heartbeat!!!!!

Amazing views, an awesome blast from the past place to stay, an overall great area if you love, peace, and quiet. There are also some really nice trails in the area. And an overall great person to book with. My wife and I and our pup enjoyed our stay to say the least!

Totally loved this place! It gave us the get away we needed. Plenty of places to sit outside and enjoy the beauty…whether it was in the front porch swing, in a chair on the back deck, in the hammock, or by the fire pit. Gorgeous view of the sunrise. This bungalow was very clean and inviting. Loved being able to take our dog with us. Appliances were all working and pots and pans available for cooking. We had a wonderful stay!

The Retro Bungalow was so unique inside and out! We loved all of the retro decor that brought back memories of our childhood. The view was gorgeous and was my favorite thing. It was so close to the Blue Ridge Parkway for proximity to hiking. Thank you Darlene for opening your special place! We will be back.

This is our 2nd stay at the retro bungalow. We love the location. We have friends that live close by. We love the area, being close to the blue ridge parkway and access to many quaint local towns. The best sky colors & sunsets.

Nice small country cottage right off the Blueridge Parkway. Great place to get away from it all! Had a nice time at the Labor Day Fleamarket in Hillsville, Va. Definitely would stay there again.

Truly relaxing and unique stay. Loved the amenities provided as well as the walk back in time to be among furnishings of my childhood. Superb nature spot so close to the Parkway.

Check in was a breeze and easy to enter. The kitchen was clean and good for cooking.We enjoyed the stay and the view was breathtaking.

Beautiful views, very peaceful. The porch swings on the front porch are delightful, I sat there and read for hours! The fenced yard and deck were great for the dogs. We had a lovely stay.

A perfect backdrop for a romantic weekend! A very cute bungalow with awesome views day and night! Close to Mayberry USA, antique shops and hiking. Drove out to Mabry Mill and took in a show at the Andy Griffith Theatre. A bunch of deer and a momma bear with her cubs made an appearance on a back road! Highly recommend the steaks at 13 Bones Restaurant!

The little retro house was so unique....a step back in time! We spent most of our time on the deck constantly eyeing the magnificent views!!! Really liked that it was all fenced in so we didn't have to worry about our little dog. Best anniversary weekend get away ever!!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The cottage had everything needed to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. The decor was amazingly some of the antiques bringing back memories from youth. Enjoyed the location and the amazingly view from the deck. Highly recommend.

Very nice little cabin. Perfect for a few days, as it's very tight on storage. We felt very relaxed. The bed, while a little on the soft side, was comfortable. Adequate kitchen for a few meals. No washer/ dryer and no real closet space, only a bar to hang some clothes. The view is amazing. Very close to Blue ridge parkway

Pete and Darlene have a wonderful home that we thoroughly enjoyed. It was quiet and peaceful. They gave some excellent recommendations of places to visit as well. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the decor brought me back to my childhood. I laughed as I remembered growing up with many of the items and some I still have today. The view is amazing but even more so at night with the lights all a glow. Thank you both for sharing your wonderful little bungalow with us.

Oh my goodness! There is not enough words to describe our stay at this little piece of heaven! From the moment we walked in, it was like a step back in time! It took me back to my mamaw's house when I was a little girl. So calming and peaceful. I wish I could have stayed forever! Everything was so neat and tidy, and clean as a whistle! The decor was so thought out and really represented the retro vibe! And the view........ wow! Just WOW! The owners were AMAZING and so thoughtful! The afternoon we checked in, there were storms moving in and it was very windy and foggy. Because of this, the owners reached out to us to make sure we arrived safely, and I thought this was so sweet and caring and honestly made me feel more like family than a guest! Like I said before, I cannot say enough about the whole experience! Would recommend staying here in a heartbeat and can NOT wait to come back!!!

The views were beautiful and we didnt need to leave the whole weekend! You may want to stop for groceries on the way in. If you don't mind the drive, there's a little food lion aboit 20 minutes away. Definitely a getaway PEACE of space!

We throughly enjoyed our relaxing stay in this cozy vintage bungalow. We didn’t have the opportunity to spend a lot of time outside relaxing as it was windy and chilly but, the outdoor area did look very appealing. Bed was really comfortable, kitchen a joy to cook in and having the coffe and oatmeal offered was a nice surprise. IF I had to leave one suggestion. A larger trash can in the kitchen and or maybe bear proof cans outside. We always cook our breakfast when away and bring take out back because of traveling with our dog. We never leave her alone in a strange home. Needless to say, we have a bit of trash that will accumulate for almost a week. Highly recommend this lovely property.

Our stay at this cozy cabin was great. The retro decor was really cute and brought back memories of our childhood. Everything was clean and comfortable. We loved sitting on the back deck, listening to the creek and looking out at the beautiful view of the trees and mountains. We didn't have to worry about our dog since she could walk freely in the fenced in yard and also on the fenced in deck. As we were leaving, my husband said This trip was just exactly what we needed.

This is the perfect relaxation spot! This cabin has the most beautiful view, well put together and pet friendly! If we didn't promise friends we would meet for dinner we would have just hid away there all weekend! The owners are super sweet and attentive! I can't wait to go back!!

Decor was true to form of the Retro vibe; perfect for two people and VERY dog friendly. The home was clean and well-stocked for the 5 days we were there. Location was private and quiet, on a creek sided steep ravine with a wonderful view. Great hosts who were very responsive. Loved this listing!!

That the view was spectacular is an understatement. A babbling brook on either side of the property. What a mountain getaway.
