Comfy cozy with the river view

We were unable to stay either night. 1st night - no lighting to find the obscure walkway down to house. The management company wrote, Please note that it is very dark at night when you walk down to the unit, so please make sure that you have either the flash light on your phone or a flash light with you. Even WITH my cell flashlight, you couldn't see a thing...there's ZERO lighting and no street # of property (all the other properties had them which made this even more maddening in the dark!)We saw that at the end of the street there was a grassy cliff but otherwise, couldn't see a darn thing. After 30 mins., we gave up -stayed at a hotel. 2nd day- during daytime, found out why the walkway was concealed- there's zero lighting, path was obscured - hidden to the left of a drop down to land below. Then unable to access the house - code was confirmed and I tried multiple times to no avail. Back to the hotel for the 2nd night. Place looked just as pictured. The management co., Vacasa, was of no help. Check the picture of Better Business Bureau complaints received in the past 3 years. Case closed. I recommend lighting beginning at the parking lot (before the grass area and away from the cliff), a lit sign with the street # and an entry code that actually gets you in the property. Caveat Conductor (Let the Renter beware)...

Lots of natural light a beautiful view in the common area. I would absolutely stay again. The only drawback is that there is only one spot designated for parking

Loved being able to see oyster river and boats on a daily basis. Accessible to town.

Great stay at this bright, airy, cozy cottage. We enjoyed coffee and happy hour on the deck overlooking the river and boats each day. Hated to leave!

Wonderful off season vacation home with a fabulous view of the river. Avoid going in the summer as there is no upstairs air conditioning .and all the glass

This was quite a gem! It was just a beautiful place and was absolutely perfect. We had such a great time! Highly recommend.

The location is lovely, however, I would recommend the owners perhaps put in some type of steps that lead down to the house and provide lighting along the way since the dirt path is uneven and when wet can be slippery and messy. There were coverings on the couches since they are white and had many stains on them. Otherwise the house is comfortable and sitting outside loverlooking the water and boats is very pretty and relaxing. It is also convenient to get into the center of Chatham which is very nice.

The condition of this property is disgusting AND this is obviously known by the owners from many prior reviews - they clearly don't care. The town needs to get out & reinspect immediately. I have emailed them letting them know this property is not suitable to rent. The surfaces in the kitchen and bathrooms seemed clean. Everything else was filthy - and I mean grungy, slimy, coated with dirt filthy. I didn't even want to walk on the floors without shoes. The sofa & chair in living room were covered with stains, pet hair, and had dirt under the cushions. The sofa had a hole in it. To cover this up- they threw some type of blanket on top of each, not a slip cover... a blanket. Absolutely disgusting...The carpet in the bedrooms was filthy. The screens had holes in them. The portable a/c immediately smelled like mold when I turned it on. After several days of sinus & throat discomfort I finally figured out that the a/c was the culprit. I pulled out the filter and, in addition, to being covered in dust it had small black dots all over it that were definitely mold spores. By the end of the trip the entire house just felt so gross that I didn't feel clean even after a shower. The narrow, short deck that has two chairs with cushions Old tables & wooden chairs that were both broken & splintered. Not to mention that when the crank out windows are open there is no room to sit on the deck Grill is covered with filth and rust inside.The unpaved path had non-working solar lights..

Listing is not representative of the condition of the home at all…grille is damaged inside, furniture is completely worn and is about 7 shades from the white they show, handle on upstairs shower comes completely off, ceiling in kitchen has water/leak damage, furniture is reconfigured and day bed was stuck under the stairs, walkway to the home is a washed out dirt path, inaccessible to elderly or anyone disabled, bedroom window crank is broken, awful fecal odor in first floor bathroom and poor ventilation in entire home makes our experience sadly not good. It was really disappointing since clearly as the listing shows it was once a beautiful place and with a great location. I hope the owner or manager gives this place some serious TLC to bring it back to what it once was, poor home has had some serious wear and tear…

Loved the stay so much we are considering booking again next year! The view was the best part by far! The only issue we had was the unstable outdoor shower other than that we had a great time!

We enjoyed our stay at this cute cottage in Chatham! It was very centrally located and had the most adorable view. Perfect for our MDW girls trip!

It’s hard to find a place that a 16 year old boy, 13 year old girl and 7 year old boy ALL enjoy but this did it! The space is clean (except the couches could use being replaced) and the location is awesome. Kitchen is well equipped. There’s a grill on the deck too. Aside from the couches it’s really hard to think of something to complain about. The local support team was SUPER responsive! My son forgot his wallet when we checked out and they sent someone over to get it and then drove to meet us to give it back. Definitely went above and beyond there!
