The property is a wonderful location, as any older house it has some minor flaws. We had 7 people in our group for our yearly trip, everyone had plenty of room. The house is great, the property owner is awesome, definitely easy to talk with, and answers the phone when you call. We will definitely be trying to get this house again. Absolutely wonderful 9 day trip.
We stayed here for our annual cousins reunion. We loved the house and the location but had some issues with communication and function. I sent 2 questions to the property manager weeks before we arrived and never received a reply to either. We waited until check-in time and never received entry instructions. This is the first time booking with VRBO that I had to CALL the property manager to gain access to the home. We discovered the first night that the oven didn’t work. We contacted the property manager who promised someone would be there to look at it and no one came and no one called back to explain. We had to heat the meals we brought on the gas grill outside. The Murphy bed in the media room was broken and would not stay down. It was unusable. Our single person had to sleep in a recliner or on the couch. The mattress in the main floor master fell off the slats. We had to get cement blocks from the yard to prop it back up. None of the showers had a decent shower head. I understand the need to conserve water but there are low flow shower heads that put out an adequate stream. We enjoyed the media room and the large living room’s big TV. However the internet is not adequate for that many people and devices in one house. We had to take turns using wi-fi. I know it’s the mountains but perhaps there is something that could help. We certainly didn’t let the inconveniences ruin our stay and we had a good time but it could have been GREAT without the problems.
Great house with lots of updates, theater room, new hot tub, many extras, wonderful deck with a beautiful view of the San Juan River Valley. Owner was difficult to get ahold of when minor problems arose. He occasionally returned my text messages. The Wi-Fi is DSL, not cable, probably all that is available. It's enough to run the furnished TVs, but staying connected with cellphones and other personal devices was a real challenge.
It was a cozy place with many fun things to do, and the mountain view was spectacular!
We had two families (10 people) staying at the house and there was plenty of room for everyone. Home was only 25 minutes from the slopes. Would definitely stay here again,
The house definitely had plenty of room for all of us for Christmas! Unfortunately the property was not very clean and many little things that need repaired. Downstairs bedroom had a window that wouldn’t close and master bathroom faucet fell off in my hand. Wrote a personal letter to owner and he never responded. Just need new property manager and cleaning crew.
House is large. Our group enjoyed the spaciousness. 20-30 to Wolf Creek. This place could use some TLC(remotes need batteries, some of the light fixtures needed bulbs. It’s a great house to spread out in. The host responded to all my text quickly. I would recommend this place to a large group. I also think a binder with house instructions and how to reach on site manager would be helpful).
Experience was great! Owner easily reached for questions on arrival. Cabin located perfectly outside of town but not a far drive if anything needed. Gameroom for kids was a hit as well as the theater room setup for movies.
Let me start with the only positive. The property was spacious; however, it could have been so much better if… The contact was accessible. Took a 1 1/2 days to respond. Never received the door key instructions, the doors were unlocked and it was a scary experience. The check out instructions were not clear. By the way check out was 9am (no flexibility). Would be nice to have more towels, propane gas tanks were completely empty…we were not able to grill outside. We never could leave house as entire family to visit town…someone always had to stay back because door didn’t lock (broken) but this was NEVER communicated. House was dirty we had to buy cleaning supplies and clean just to feel comfortable. Appliances barely worked. Half of the coffee mugs were chipped. Half the chairs in movie room are broken. The movie room set up is not user friendly. The music system turned on and off by itself. I mean I could go on but won’t. Enough said. On top of all that the only time I heard from contact was to express his inconvenience of being forced to fix door lock because we locked his home up to ensure it was safe. Super disappointed. Hope everyone else has better luck. P & S
Beautiful home and setting. Fabulous views. Needs a deep clean and attention to replace used candles etc. and lampshades. Update information in guest information book with current contacts and numbers. We rented when a water restriction was in force so lost water usage for 24 hours, which was refunded but very disappointing.
We choose Jacks cabin and couldn't of been happier. It was better than we expected, lots of room for our kids and there kids. We watched movies played games and just relaxed. We will be back next year.
We found the house to be very nice, roomy with great separation. We were there with our adult children and grandchildren. The location was nice, weather was great. The house has a very well equipped kitchen. We loved our stay and would recomment to anyone. Great place
Spent about 5 days at this great cabin with 6 buddies. The location is great. Close access to Pagosa and to multiple hiking trails. In a community, but positioned such that most of the time you don't even see the neighbors. We enjoyed the hot tub, wrap around porch, ample room to spread out amongst the 6 bedrooms, and the general cabiney vibe. There were some maintenance concerns (the amp in the movie room didn't work, which prevented us from playing music throughout the house's sound system and prevented playing movies in the movie room, the dishwasher was a bit temperamental, and we couldn't one side of the jets in the hot tub to work). BUT, there was so much other stuff to do and the setting was so great that we ultimately didn't notice all that much. Definitely recommend, but wish that the property was fully functional.
Amazing cabin, a dream house in a perfect location. Plenty of rooms for the entire family. We will defiantly be back. Plenty of activities to do while in the cabin. The location is beautiful. It was not clear now to get to the house. The only real negative was the owner didn't give us the code to enter the cabin, it took A LOT of calls and emails to finally get them to answer to get the code. Also, some chairs in the theater were broken, and no extra towels or TP.
This property was a perfect choice for our little family reunion, which included three couples and three grown grandchildren. The house is an impressively constructed custom log home with soaring ceilings, a wonderful large living room, dining room/kitchen area, a game room and theater room. There was no shortage of bedrooms or bathrooms, affording everyone a measure of privacy. Although it's located very close to town, you may find yourself not wanting to leave this place. We definitely want to rent it again for our next family reunion.
This is the second time and not the last time we have stayed at this house. Great location, amenities and exterior living areas. A few tweaks and it would be a must stay location
Our family of 13 (one a toddler) truly enjoyed our 4 night stay. The log home is beautiful and very spacious! We opened the windows and enjoyed fresh mountain air throughout the day and night. Very comfortable. The family enjoyed the game room, especially the shuffleboard and pool table. The kids watched movies in the theater. The deck is awesome! We ate every meal out there to take in the mountain views. WE LOVED IT! We would highly recommend to family and friends!
Our 2nd stay here. Perfect location, spacious house, stunning views….
