Break Away - NEW Lakefront Modern Farmhouse 6BR-Outdoor Bar and Kitchen

The house is located in a very nice neighborhood. It was beautiful and clean. The living area is spacious for a large number of people and the kitchen is well equipped. The master bedroom is large with ample closet space and a large bathroom. The bedrooms in the basement did not have closets, and space for personal things a little scarce, but it did have a nice living room. We loved the water views from the house, and how easily accessible the water is.

Nice house with a great view! However the lack of cleanliness took away some of the charm of the house.

Beautiful home in a great location right on the water. For the price you pay, I was expecting more cleanliness of the property especially being a newer property. The floors were dirty upon check in and there was dust covering surfaces. The back porch had so many spiders, unfortunately we were not able to use this at night. I understand being lakefront, inspects are part of it but a good quarterly spraying might be recommended to enjoy the outdoors at night.

Beautiful home with awesome views! The home was very nice and had all the amenities you will ever need. The home is modern and located near marinas and the ever popular jumping bridge. The channel was a bit busy for any quiet family time at the dock. There were a few items that could have been a little cleaner, but overall in great shape. Bummer the ice maker did not work while we were there.All in all, the nicest home we have ever rented on Norris Lake!

The layout of the place was great. Nice dock. Good communication with Owner. The refrigerator did not work, the ice machine was broken, the exterior furniture was broken, the LVP was up in the basement, we had to unload the dishwasher and make our own beds. The house could use a once over on cleanliness as well. Premium price should've covered these items. Very busy part of the lake, so if you plan to have a boat at their dock, be mindful it might get beat up by waves.

We had a wonderful time during our stay. Everything we could have asked for. Property was great. Norris lake area really is unmatched. Owner was timely and accurate with any/all information provided. No complaints from the entire group of 11. Will be booking again when we decide to return!

We are group of siblings with spouses and kids who all get to see each other once a year - a really special time for us and we search to find a special house to match. We really enjoyed our week. The lake and views are stunning. The location is on a busier area of the lake; so boat traffic was a little more than what we've been used to. The hills in the neighborhood will give you a workout if you like to walk! The house was quite nice with the main level serving as the heart of the home where we spent a lot of time cooking, drinking and laughing. Being a family who truly enjoys preparing meals together, we were disappointed with some of the kitchen supplies that would have made it feel more like a home and less like a rental. The only glasses were plastic cups that were warped from being melted in the dishwasher :( A nice glass of wine or craft cocktail is more enjoyable from a real stemware or cocktail glass. We also struggled with the knives which barely cut cucumbers let alone a steak. We didn't have a spatula or a cheese grater or a complete set of measuring spoons -- simple items that elevate the experiences from good to great. That said, the two dishwashers and two ovens were so appreciated, as were the washer/dryer on both levels! The bedrooms were comfy, yet no towel hooks in some of the bathrooms and no closets in some bedrooms was not favorable. Just some picky things we would expect here, but overall we loved our stay!

Good location. Layout of house is good. Dock is good. The house needs a complete cleaning. In my opinion the current cleaning is minimal.this may be the result of the short time between checkout and checkin.

Great location near jumping bridge and marina with new inflatable water park. Driveway is not steep and a nice wide path to the lake. We had some issues that were addressed quickly by the owner. Communication was very good.

Our stay was amazing, the house is big and beautiful, and the kitchen is very well equipped with 2 dishwashers and 2 refrigerators. Drinking coffee, looking out that view priceless. Definitely, we will be back.

We had a great stay at Break Away last week. It is a stunning property that presents itself exactly as pictured in the ad. The location is fantastic and the host (Chris) is super responsive and attentive to guest needs. I especially appreciate the way he accommodated a special request that was important to our family. A bit more about the property. New, modern home in a gated neighborhood with the best view I've ever seen on Norris Lake. The moment you open the front door your breath will be taken away... the 180 degree view is THAT good. We loved the ice machine, tv's, fast wifi, outdoor grill, hot tub, extra fridges, etc. Let's talk boat logistics. The road leading to Break Away is paved and well maintained. Getting our 25' boat to the house was stress free. The driveway at the house is unusually flat for a home on Norris Lake. We were able to back our boat into the driveway, and we stored our trailer in the driveway all week (in addition to two other cars). The neighborhood has its own private boat ramp, which is paved and well maintained. We had no issues getting our boat in and out of the water. And the boat ramp is just a few hundred yards from the dock. The dock itself is new and has two slips (no lifts). Bring plenty of dock lines and fenders / inflatable balls to protect your boat when tied up (the channel can get busy). A bit more about the location. Being so close to Sugar Hollow Marina + Jumping Bridge was great for the family. We will be back!

First off: wonderful house, perfect location, responsive host once at property, everything we hoped it would be. Key positives: 1) Wonderful floor plan for a group our size with different schedules, needs (13 including a 12-month-old, 3 teens and 10 adults) Outdoor spaces awesome 2) Great location close to Sugar Hollow Marina. To rent boats a few just kayaked over. (or 15 to 20 min by road) 3) Walk to dock much shorter and less steep than other houses. Dock great for our 3 kayaks, 1 canoe plus rental pontoon and jet ski 4)Kitchen and eating area well equipped All worked great However, a few areas for improvement 1) Prior to our stay, communication with the host through the VRBO website was a little slow. In fact, a few days before the trip I had to contact VRBO to get a response and were given phone number to contact host directly That worked great and Chris was pleasant and extremely helpful. 2) Hot tub was not working but was able to contact Chris and he was able to give me simple directions to get it going. 3) One of 2 sinks in Master bathroom had no water. We easily managed with just the one sink but not communicated if that was going to be fixed during our week or not: it wasn't 4) Check-out instructions on handout in house were a little different than in email from host. Not a big deal but a little confusing Summary: We have been to Norris before, and this was hands down best house we have ever stayed in. Enjoy!
