Stayed Jan 29, 2026This home is amazing! Beautiful, spacious, clean, and PLENTY of fun things to do. The hosts were fantastic and very responsive. We had a big snow storm a couple days prior to our arrival. The hosts had the driveway plowed and texted us with a road condition report. They even went out of their way to have the deck and patio cleared so we could use the hot tub! Would give them 6 stars if I could!!!

Stayed Oct 2, 2025Truly wonderful home and property. Our family enjoyed our stay immensely. The owners were responsive and accommodating. The hosts provided information on local favorites and things to do. It was truly a once in a lifetime mountain visit. I would highly recommend Shenandoah Slumber to anyone wanting to visit the area.

Stayed Jun 13, 2025We enjoyed our weekend at this property. It was comfortable, clean, and spacious. Beautiful acreage surrounding the home. Location was great for exploring Shenandoah, Luray, etc. Friendly host was an excellent communicator. Of note, in June there were lots and lots of flies and other insects around so I wouldn’t recommend a rural stay if that would be bothersome.

Stayed Jun 22, 2025This property is beautiful and so peaceful. We stayed with 4 kids and 4 adults and there was plenty of space. The kids absolutely loved the game room—they were slightly disappointed that it didn’t have the Skeeball pictured, but it had new things in its place and they loved that. The outdoor space was amazing—we loved the covered area with the outdoor TV. We brought our water table and small sprinkler for the kids and they had a blast. We also loved walking to the creek in the lower part of the property and loved having fires in the fire pit at night, looking at all the stars in the sky. It’s a quick drive to Massanutten resort where we went to the water park and petting farm (water park was totally worth it). Besides the property, the owner was super great. Very responsive, answered all my questions both before and during the stay. Highly recommend and would stay again!

Stayed May 29, 2025We had a great, short vacation with our family. The little ones enjoyed the playground, polywogs and nature. We all enjoyed the nature, seclusion, peace and quiet, the campfire and hot tub. The enclosed, screened patio was a nice extra. We loved walking the huge property, taking in the beauty of the surroundings. The space inside the house was perfect for our needs. Plenty of bedrooms for everyone. The kids room was such a nice touch. The little one really enjoyed her time there. We would definitely recommend this for families or group getaways. It is a little piece of heaven. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us.

Stayed Mar 15, 2025My family and friends go away every spring break to cabins in Georgia or Carolinas. This year we wanted something different. We have never explored Virginia and our main interest was exploring Shenandoah National Park. We enjoyed the charm of the old farm house and the comforts and updates that made it modern. It is located about 30 to 50 min from many of the sites and activities we enjoyed. We traveled with 4 kids aging from 8 to 12 and 2 dogs. The house and beds were comfortable. The kids loved playing and exploring in the back yard. We enjoyed the Luray Caverns, which near by is the carriage and car museum these were fun to see. If you enjoy hiking, the top of White Oak Falls wasn't to hard, with spectacular views of beautiful water falls. If you are up for an extra challenge, The Old Rag hike was amazing. After 9 miles of hiking, we enjoyed burgers at Old 33 beer and burger grill. They had great service and food. If disc golf is of interest check out Walnut Creek and kiwanis disc golf courses these are located an hour from the farm house. The reason I gave 4 stars is for location as when booking we had the impression we would be more secluded. The property does have surrounding properties, one having live stock near by, however this can be expected being an old farm house. We enjoyed our stay even though there were some weather that prevented us from utilizing the outdoor amenities we would have liked to use during our stay. Over all a great experience!

Stayed Dec 11, 2024My family lives in different states all through the east coast. We picked this place as a spot to centralize our family getting together and celebrating Christmas. It worked out perfectly. It was the perfect space for all of us to spend time together. The bedrooms are very spacious and had plenty of room for each family. The kitchen (which is gorgeous) was well stocked and was utilized for cooking every meal including our famous family Christmas dinner. I think the only thing that was complained about was the temperature - the temperature was frigid outside (the high all week was 36 degrees!) which made it hard to keep the house warm. The older part of the house was definitely more difficult to keep warm (especially upstairs) than the newer part, and we used the pellet stove nonstop! We didn’t even get to use the game room since it was so cold. We did get to venture outside to explore the property, briefly. Down the stairs to the little stream was absolutely adorable! It was its own little private oasis. Also, plenty of room for the dogs to get out and stretch their legs. (Just be aware, the neighborhood/farm dogs do venture over to the house). The hot tub felt sooo good and was super clean; very well kept. It was nice having the hot tub to enjoy in the cold weather. Overall, this was the perfect spot for three families to spend time together for Christmas. This house allowed us to gain memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.

Stayed Nov 24, 2024We stayed here for 4 days right before Thanksgiving. We loved the house, but our 3 kids (ages 4, 6, and 7) loved it even more! The house has so much charm and the kids loved exploring the yard and creek. The property was very well-maintained and there was complimentary coffee and snacks. Great getaway!

Stayed Oct 30, 2024Fabulous getaway that feels secluded but is just minutes from everything and surrounded by pastures and mountain views. Home is clean and welcoming. Amenities (hot tub, fire pit, games, outdoor tv gazebo, etc) well thought out. Property features lower area with creek, bbq pit, game area and is a short walk down the hill. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the home!

Stayed Jul 4, 2024We enjoyed our stay at Shenandoah Slumber. The owner was very communicative and quick to respond. She also provided us with a packet of information a few days before check-in. The bedrooms are large and comfortably fit our party of 6. We loved the game room and that we could all sit together for dinner and to watch tv. The outdoor space was a nice bonus and the house was quiet and comfortable. There are three bathrooms but we mainly used two of them due to size and location. Internet worked well and the kitchen had plenty of cookware. Great spot for adventures to Shenandoah National Park or other sites in Virginia. Thanks for having us!
