Albemarle, North Carolina
The space-
This property is unique as it’s in Jacob’s Creek cove on LKT where boat and jet ski traffic is little to none. The cove also has a nature preserve where you’ll see wood ducks fly in, blue herons raise their chicks each year, ospreys hunt in the evening and you can kayak to see beavers!
The Blue Heron Bungalow is named for just one of the many birds who occupy our cove. The blue herons have a nest in the tree across the way and raise their chicks every year. You can catch our blue heron friends “fishing” off the dock roof most mornings if you’re up early enough! We love to watch them and appreciate their presence as they eat/deter snakes (we haven’t seen a snake the whole time we’ve had the property and we give credit to our feathered friends/namesake).
The home has 3 bedrooms (2 kings & 1 queen), one pullout couch, 2 full bathrooms and has an outdoor shower on the side! The home is setup/focused on letting as much light in and enjoying the amazing views. Each room has its own tv (fire stick) and there are cards and board games around the house for you to enjoy.
Kayaks and floaties provided for enjoying the lake. Bluetooth speakers are all set for listening to music on the deck. The dock is covered and uncovered for however much sun you want to soak in! We have a hammock and manual jet ski lift you can use. With advanced notice we can set up the front yard for pups. There is no fence!
All motorized vessels should be mentioned prior to booking.

Quick visit, great communication and pleasant stay!
We had a non-traditional thanksgiving with just my wife, the kids and a friend. Communication was great, we booked way in advance but received comms leading up to the date. it is a cute little place, very well decorated. we were a little nervous going in about cooking an entire Thanksgiving meal in the kitchen that wasn’t ours but it is nicely equipped and the meal was great. Even though the lake level was extremely low we were able to catch quite a few fish including a 15 pound cat right off the dock. The owners are extremely nice and what questions we did have were answered quickly. we will definitely be staying here again.
A little disappointing the lake was drained, but we were told before leaving. Like any place in the woods you will find spiderwebs especially down by the dock, but the scenery and nature was beautiful. We got to see otters, herons, chipmunks.. things we dont see in Fayetteville. Was the perfect place to rest and have mine and my daughters birthday vacation.
We really enjoyed our stay ! Nicely renovated with accommodating features. Very comfortable beds as well. Tv and wifi accessibility. Great access to shopping and food! We would definitely stay again if we are in the area!
It was so cute and very comfortable. The beds are amazing !
We had a very relaxing and peaceful stay, hope to visit again
The house was the perfect size and provided more amenities than we expected! The dock is great for swimming and just relaxing. Would absolutely stay again!
Exactly as described. The host Was super fantastic as well.
We will absolutely be back!!
Well the place does have the potential to be a nice place but the communication was very poor. So, when property was booked, I communicated a lot of who was coming with me,basically to let the property owner know all rooms would be filled. Was told all rooms had streaming device of some kind, Roku, etc. the day of arrival I communicated that one of the bedrooms (Master bedroom) tv was showing “ no signal”. No reply until the next day that the tv didn’t wouldn’t work. But that was not communicated in the description of the property or in messages between myself and “Carolyn”. She didn’t explain the TV until the end of the next day- Not to mention the HUGE spiders and webs above the fridge. Then refunded us 50 bucks, I guess to make us feel she compensating us! A joke ! 2) We were told we could not check in prior to 4:00pm because of the cleaning crew from the people who was there prior to us coming. Ok. I understood that. However, they need to call that so call “ clean up crew” back and ask for refund. It was so many dead spiders, live spiders in the bathrooms and within cracks ( inside the property). My husband got bit by a spider and good thing he knows his spiders and knows, the bite was not poisonous! Just insane! 3) Dock-Just walking down the steps, it was spider webs everywhere. Feel as though it never was a “real clean up”crew because again the place, location, beautiful but it could have been cleaned better than that, esp. for that price! The property needs CLEANING
Very nice place to hang out on the dock and relax. Quiet cove, not a busy street, very peaceful. Property owners were wonderful to work with, quick to reply to any questions. This was a last minute get away and I think everyone enjoyed. Would stay again. Thank you.
Everyone enjoyed the property. Floors were very dog friendly. It was a bit close with six adults and two dogs but the property worked. Would consider staying again if we return to Lake Tillery. This was the first of our lake life exploration. We will go to a different lake next.
House appears small when you pull into the driveway, but that is far from the truth! The house is beautifully updated with 3 large bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, an open concept kitchen and living area, and a large dining room. The beds were amazingly comfortable and we loved the duvets so much we are purchasing one for our home. The location on the water is perfect as there is very little traffic. The water at the end of the pier is nice and deep. The sound system on the deck is great…we could hear it all the way down to the water! We loved it here and the owners were very responsive!
Very clean property. Comfortable beds. Beautiful quiet cove on the lake.
Great location on the lake and quiet cove to stay in. House is setup perfect and easily can hold three couples comfortably.
We stayed at the lake house for a long weekend stay for my collage graduation. The location and dock access were really awesome! It’s a very quiet spot with very little boat traffic. Everything was really well stocked and we enjoyed our time very much!
We spent a great relaxing weekend hanging out on the dock at the lake and using the kayaks. It is a beautiful area. The house layout is a little quirky, but the amenities and hosts responsiveness were wonderful.
A nice homebase to let my teenage girls finish out their spring break. Plenty of outdoor activities nearby (Carolina Treetop Challenge was a fun morning!) to keep yourself busy, away from the larger cities around.
Cute little house in a country setting. Management company was super communicative and easy to work with. Beds were very comfortable. Saw the blue heron each morning on the back tree. Bit of a drive to get to Charlotte from here but if you're simply looking for a place to go and relax this has you covered. Because of the low lights on the street area, you could see amazing stars and the brightly shining moin at night.
Stayed again after a visit in Charlotte! Clean, cozy and great communication with the host!
We booked this for a short family get away.It was perfect to have our own space but also have some friends nearby! We all drove from Raleigh & Cary and the drive is SO easy, I wish I knew of this lake years ago. The house is the cutest! It had everything we needed and it was nearby everything - downtown Albemarle for dinner and central Albemarle for groceries and anything we needed. My granddaughter is in Charlotte and we’ll be booking this house the next time we visit her and want lake views to follow!
