House was clean, large and spacious. We booked for Christmas - the kitchen and dinning area was great for our needs. Several things in the house need repair or parts (lamps -- 1 had a short and another no bulb, stove - display has a short and at one point the oven would not turn off, remotes, tub). Nice Tvs but internet access was unable to sync. Location was great ... very convenient to Black Mountain.

The house was very charming and delivered what we needed. Our stay was wonderful! It was well equipped with everything we needed with plenty of space for our family to enjoy time together. We also appreciated having separate areas where small groups could relax and have their own conversations. The Farmhouse table was perfect for sharing meals. That made our time together more special.

This house has lots of room, but there is not a lot of seating if more than 5 are wanting to watch a movie together. ( you have to sit on the floor or bring in dining chairs). I don’t think it had been rented in a while-the linens on the beds and in the linen closet smelled less than fresh and could use attention( maybe replacing, if cleaning and deodorizing is not possible). Several lights were not working, outside and inside. One outside was replaced a few days after we arrived, but the others were not. The icemaker, jacuzzi and hot tubs were not working at the time of our visit and although we did not need the hot tub or jets, we could have used the icemaker! There were ample pots and pans, but not enough mugs or silverware-no teaspoons and only 4 table knives. The back yard is fenced, although a toy poodle can slip out between the fence posts or out of a missing piece like ours did. Downtown is only minutes away by car, as are playgrounds and a children’s museum. If you bring young children, bring high chairs and cribs and a safety gate for the staircase. All the floors squeak noisily and you can hear anyone and everyone moving around at night. Bathrooms are gloriously large, but there are not a lot of nice towels. We had to borrow some from a nearby relative. The bathroom mirror upstairs is situated in between 2 sinks, making shaving a challenge. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and with updates, maintenance and repairs, the property could easily be more enjoyable.
