Stayed Sep 30, 2025The property is nothing fancy, but clean, comfortable, and as described in the listing. Use of the garage was a huge bonus. The grill could use a deep cleaning - we opted not to use.

Stayed Nov 7, 2025Loved our weekend stay at Black Bear Retreat! The house was clean and comfortable, convenient to everything downtown, and had beautiful woods surrounding it making it really private. I actually hated to leave. :) Will have to rent for longer next time.

Stayed Jul 19, 2024Very comfortable home with two bedrooms-2 up and 1 down. Well equipped kitchen. Quiet neighborhood with nice back porch and Kingsford charcoal grill. Two car garage. Very close to Montreat and Black Mountain. Will book then next time in the area
