Black Bear Den ~ Access to Private Lake! Heat and AC

Very disappointed. The first problem was the main bathroom the toilet was broken. We were there for 3 nights reported to owner and was never fixed. It was 2 story and the working bathroom was upstairs with no cooling and outside temp was around 90 degrees and so was the upstairs. No one could sleep upstairs. The flooring was rotted by upstairs bath/shower. Cabin said for 8 we had 4 adults and 2 small children and kitchen table only had 4 chairs. Light above table needed 6 bulbs and only one was working. The master bedroom had no curtain or blinds and it faced the front to the road and construction workers working across the street could see in. Shower door on main floor would not stay shut because the latch was broken. Outside deck and furniture were not maintained. There was not even a broom on the property to clean it up. Lots of spider webs outside of cabin and stairs to parking. Maintenance on the property was poor.

Great location, overall great experience

This cabin was the perfect little weekend getaway destination for going to Big Trees and the nearby reservoir. The host was just a call away but was so thorough with instructions that we didn't need to contact for help. We did see a brown bear right outside the cabin at one point so beware! But other than that great affordable place

We had a great stall and the house was beautiful

The cabin was dirty: filthy mattresses, pillows, rug, mold under the sinks, rock holding up cart in the center of the kitchen, dirty dishes and silverware in drawers and caninets. The master bedroom window had no window covering and the upstairs bathroom was missing a chunk of flooring. The refrigerator broke in the first few days of our stay and the host misled us to believe someone would be coming to repair it and didn't respond when no one showed for the appointment. He took over a day to respond. I had to secure another cabin due to the refrigerator and the mold causing my teenager's asthma to flare up. Lots of maintenance is needed to ensure this space reflects what is advertised and that it is a healthy space for people to inhabit.

Several things wrong with the house.1 bedroom had no window covering.We had to hang a sheet for privacy.The kitchen island has a rock to hold up one corner.The upstairs bathroom flooring is torn up by the bathtub.The rug in the living room is stained and smells.Night stand drawer is broken.Overall the house wasn’t clean. You get what you pay for.

Great house, well stocked, and conveniently located near the lake. Would definitely stay again.

We had a great stay! The cabin was nice and clean and had everything we needed. Access to the pool and club amenities was a bonus. Would definitely visit again!

Great cabin! The bedrooms are very spacious with comfortable beds. Owner does have to go on and fix the shower head and the tv upstairs. Besides that, everything is great.

Super great for the price--nothing too fancy, but everything you need. Very satisfied :)

It was a tad hot upstairs but overall very pleasant! ALSO you have now 4 bottles of maple syrup that have been accumulating over the years so have fun with that 😂 it was nice and cozy but it’s scary outside at night 😬 thanks again!
